Vana'diel Bestiary: Smilodon

Several messages here say they are not aggro, but I was just killed by one here in Batallia Downs (S), just for walking by - was not resting, low HP, or anything. Must be something else to it (there was a Campaign battle going on, but I wasn't participating; could this change things?)

I estimate that I’ve taken down about 170 of these over the last 3 days and here are my observations:

All conned EP- - to me at 59 and gave between 55 and 60 exp

Confirmed no linking or aggro generally, but they do aggro to resting

The drop rate for hides was a little better than 10% for me with no TH, but there was a huge difference between the first two days (4.5%) and the last day (> 23%). I fought these on pretty much the same days of the Vanadiel week, so the difference is probably attributable to luck or moon phases. All I know is that at 2k per on Garuda, 23% might be worth farming even for low or no exp, but 4.5%, not so much.

Checks D/C at my lvl 50Bst/Whm, must be under lvl 50, charms work ok. Also Choc Whistle does not work, you get the message, "That action cannot be used in this area".
