King Arthro in Jugner Forest

King Arthro's Spawn Location
King Arthro's Spawn Location

  • Ten Knight Crabs will spawn roughly 21 hrs 5 minutes to 24 hrs 5 minutes after King Arthro's last ToD.

    • King Arthro will spawn roughly 5-10 seconds following the death of the last Knight Crab.

  • Physical attacks have an additional Paralysis effect that cannot be dispelled.

  • Immune to Silence.

King Arthro Special Attacks

  • Waterga IV - Strong AoE Water based magic damage (Circle of effect originates from spell target)

    • Due to King Arthro's low level, damage from Waterga IV will likely be resisted by a level 75 player.

  • Poisonga II - AoE Poison effect (Circle of effect originates from spell target)

  • Drown - Single target Water based DoT with an additional Strength down effect.

  • Enwater - Melee attacks performed by King Arthro will receive an additional Water based magic damage effect (Effect can be dispelled).

  • Bubble Shower - AoE Water based magic damage with an additional Strength down effect (Circle of effect originates from mob).

  • Metallic Body - Self target Stoneskin effect (Effect can be dispelled).

  • Bubble Curtain - Self target Shell effect (Effect can be dispelled).

  • Big Scissors - Single target physical damage.

  • Shell Guard - Self target Defense boost (Effect can be dispelled).

  • Hundred Fists - Self target potent Attack speed boost (Effect cannot be dispelled).

    • Denoted by the characteristic mob two-hour animation.

Nobody, except about 10 jp, have killed this NM in the passed 6 months. They bot it, and a belt hasnt been sold in AH since October. It is a shame...
RE: grrr

Just cause the belt hasnt been sold in the AH for months doesnt mean that it hasnt been killed in that amount of time, genius. Furthermore, not many people sell stuff worth that much on the AH, they bazaar it outside on the hill in Rolanberry fields on my server.

Camped him for 10 hours before I realized he was 24-hour spawn -_- I suck.
it can be solo
# Mar 12 2005 at 1:25 AM Rating: Default
solo at 75 RDM or duo with a 75 THF/nin 75 RDM/WHM

just slow/para/blind/gravity.

have the THF or RDM fight it using kraken club with enspells on (enblizzard)

really thats the only way to do damage to it. I dont see any other person on seraph kill it besides botter Naochin

edit: YES it does waterga IV. its pathetically weak to a 75. (max damage i ever took as a 75WHM was 89 damage with no barwater on 12 with it on)

At what level could a THF potentially solo this NM? If i were to do it, i would probably sub either RDM or WHM (probably RDM: higher enfeeb skill and INT) for silence, since bloody bolts are nice against crabs and melee attacks aren't too effective against THF evasion.

Otherwise, i'd duo it as THF/WAR with a RDM (if RDM high enough, /SMN for blink/stoneskin^^)

I know of the HNMs arthro in jugner and that cockatrice in meriphataud... anyone know if there's a pashhow counterpart to these?

He can be soloed if you know what you are doing. <.< 75 NIN/WHM, 75 RDM/NIN, or a 75 DRG/WHM (yes, it has been done by those 3 jobs I know for a fact) Just takes some skill, gil and a lot of time. x.X

As for which is the harder NM, Aquarius hits hard than KA..thats about it.
rdm/nin?

QOUTE:[OK guys, well ive had FFXI since January 2004 and have played numerous jobs and i have finnaly decided me and RDM just go together. I also hear that rdm75/nin37 is the best soloer in the game from numerous lv75 players especially on NMs or HNMs(and yes HNMs can be soloed). ANywayz i'm on Asura server and i was wanting to know if this guy was heavily camped by people, gil sellers, botters, or what. Considering it is an ubber mob i doubt it. Anywayz i alos wanted to know if when all the Robber Crabs spawn, does that mean King Artho is about to spawn and is that the only time the Robber Crabs spawn? LAst thing i wanted to know is if a rdm75/nin37 taru could solo this thing or duo it with blink, stoneskin, utesemi, haste, refresh, etc. other buffs on? Plz send post, ill rate u up ^^]

rdm/nin is not the best soloer. bst doesnt count becuz they solo from lvl 1 to 75. a nin/rdm or nin/war isnt better soloer than a rdm/nin. there are stuff rdm cant solo that ninja can and stuff that nin cant solo that rdm can. go lvl rdm/nin to 75 then try 75nin/rdm. rdm is too slow to kill **** and dont waste mp and will never keep up with a ninja in soloing but ninja dont got unlimited tools so rdm can go on forever. but neither outsoloes each other

Well, Knivez... Rdm/Nin is the best soloer for this reason, a rdm Nin will never run out of shadow's, Not only can they haste themselves, but they also have fast cast which works on the ninjutsu, Ni takes like 1 second or so to cast and Ichi takes like 3 or just under i think it is. Aslo a rdm/nin can cure itself if needed, dispel a mob, enfeeble( yes i know ninja's can also), they can sleep a mob if they need a small break. yes a nin/??? has the most shadow's to work with, and rdm's aren't known for their damage, but we're talking about success here, not breaking speed records.

As far as success goes, a rdm/nin can't be matched for soloing.

There's also arguements for thf/nin being among the best, just because of the huge evasion bonus', but they can't dispel, cure or enfeeble at all. But for easier fights, i'd take a thf/nin any day just for the chances at getting the drop.

Dispel, no, but we can cure and enfeeble pretty nicely with marksmenship and the appropriate bolts.

thf / nin cure spell = Bloody bolts

thf/ nin dispel (in a manner) = acid bolts
^^ def down and it helps

thf/ nin blind spell = blind bolts

and if we need a break
thf/ nin sleep spell = sleep bolts
not to nemtion jubaku for para and the like but only if really needed

^^ just fyi for you thf/nin not in the know

just so theres no confusion , lets keep it real.

acid (defense down) in no way resembles or even comes close to the concept of dispel (ie: removing stoneskin, removing Protect IV, removing evasion bonuses, blaze spikes, Haste, etc). If you would like an extreme example look at ice spikes which can paralyze you, for many, they either dump a bunch of gils at it or get ready to die, including thf/nin.

when they said break, they meant time to do stuff. sleep bolts don't give you much more then a couple of breaths, sleep/sleep II last a much longer period of time. Although sleep bolts do come a lot closer to replicating sleep spells then "defense down" does to dispel, your still looking at a dramatic difference.

ok

last bid on belt was 18 million in ramuh.
anyways i saw this guy getting killed by japanese players there were like 8 of em and a lvl 75 ninja was the tank. anyways all i can say is u CANT solo this guy, i repeat u CANT..

it has 10K HP and it hits the lvl 75 ninja for like 50ish damage. and it did cast poisonaga ii i think. the waterga iv did like 90ish damage to all of them. but the battle lasted for 30 min they hit it for 40 per hit they didnt had any blm so i dont know how long itll take to kill it with blm. but all i can say is its more like an endurance battle. it was like u r fighting a ram with paper sword lol doin paper cuts XD

You should edit that to say "You cannot solo this and do it quickly." A rdm/blm in my ls soloed Ose the other day with an easy trick... Sleep II, Stone III. rinse. repeat. Do the same here, except with thunder. It'll take forever, but as long as you're alert and careful you'll win. Btw he got *** jerkin too. ^^

you can solo it as BST also. A bst jug courrier carrie at 75 will have alomst 4kish hp. Not only that but it will hit the king for about 200-250ish while the king will only hit it for about 30 or 40 dmg. Stick ontop of that pet food which cures it about 450 hp every ish minutes with full af and the fact u will be hittin it for anothr 100 or so dmg. Also if your first pet dies you just call another and keep woopin it.

Pop time
# Jan 29 2005 at 11:36 PM Rating: Decent
Pop time is 24hrs

How to Pop the HNM:
- around his pop window which is 21-24hrs, camp by the pond, and when u see Knight Crabs pop, kill them all, and that should Pop King Arthro. King Arthro will pop right by the edge of the pond in the little sandy part. Heavily camped by JP. Good Luck Hunting
It never stops....

This is one of the HNMs like Behemoth/King Behemoth where you will almost never get to fight yourself. Heavily camped by almost all the HNM LS and usually botted aswell.

Good luck in getting the claim.

Not to ruin anyones hopes of solo, but i saw a full party of 75s (mostly whm, blm) have trouble with it...one of the whms got owned by him. it was a sad sight.
RE: Hmm

whm getting owned means nothing

whm is weak

as a 50 rdm a monster killed my 56 whm friend, so I killed 6 of that same monster a time

he is an HNM not a regular NM, so he can potentially kill a pt of lvl 70+ if they make mistkes, No HNM is easy.

Trying to get back to main topic about this NM. No, I have not fought him, and it feels like everyone has different information.

I highly doubt he casts Waterga IV. I mean Kirin casts Stonega IV which would wipe out level 75s.

Then, there is a post there a ninja and drg duoing him. So what's up?
RE: Real Info
# Dec 06 2004 at 5:29 AM Rating: Decent
Yeah, he casts Waterga IV. He cast it on me. It did like... 30 dmg. He also casts other high lvl water spells, but they didn't do much dmg. Crabs having high int? *ha*

He's pretty wussy, but still much harder than Aqua. But it's odd, no way I could EVER tank Aqua, I'd hafta kite him around. Maybe the diff is in the hitpoints. But as 72RDM/8WAR *coughhhhhhhhh* I tanked this guy fine. The samurai took my place while I ran away to use convert. Then I ran back and voked him, and yeah. He missed me most of the time. XD And you can dispel all his effects. But the cheap little guy didn't drop the speed belt. ;_; I'm POOR!

Not true for Roc, I've seen him several times while chocoing across Sauromugue Champaign.

Hmmm. Roc spawns near the stone monument, now in order to reach the stone monument you must start off in Sauromugue Champaign then enter Garlaige Citadel.. reach gate #1 (4 people needed) go pass this, reach gate #3 pass and exit back into Sauromugue Champaign, only way to get there just like “Joesaiditstrue Scholar” said. You may see Roc while running or on choco in the Sauromugue area but he will not get near the rock edge to a perfect pull point. You would have to exit the long way and pull Roc then jump down. ^^
