I was wandering around the tunnel for no reason (just bored really) and i walked into the spawn area of this thing. There were 3 of them, and believeing that nothing here can kill a lvl 54, i walked up and poked it...as i was walking away all three aggroed..obviously i got pwned before i took 1 step
a BST was hunting for ??? and some other gil sellers, i saw him flee from the middle spawn and i folloed, he went to jammer leech with 2 other thread leech aggro, i stop to spawn place waiting for the ???, 5 mins later i found myself dead after 4 hits from jammer (the jammer he propabily zoned), can i call this MPK?
Man that thing on asura was oning everone hit my pld fried for 200 then they delvled to 41 when it agroed me i ran as fast as ai could it was no use...blm= bad def hit me for a 390 crit then the millions of leeches wiht it owned me it was like a mafia for like 3 hours when you bring it out kill it!!!!

ya i was retarded enough to think these were the leechs for the nin quest so i said to myself hey they must be super ez i voke one thinking it would be ez BAM hits me for 250+ 3 hits i ran like hell damn leech left me with like 300 HP (im a 55 drg) seems these 3 NMs like to trick ppl into thinking they're weak lol if you see them run like hell dont even think about soloing it unless u a 75 pld lol

well heres a funny story, me and two other ls friends of mine were going to do the ninja quest and they were helping me out. i was a 38 rng, my friend gacace he was a 45 rng i think, and we had wyle the 75 bard come along. so we walk by and i see this jammer leech and gacace runs up to it and it turns on him and aggroes. he shoots it for like 150 and it slaps him for 250+ dmg lol. he screams **** and tried to run as he dies in about 4 seconds. I ran my *** away from it a bit and wyle tries to kill it as a 75 bard, it was hitting him for about 100 per hit as he rapidly cures himself a 75 dark and a 60 pld run by and we get them to help. the pld goes down and the dark kills the leech.

after you do gullible's travels quest (the 2nd one), and check those rafalsia flowers in yutunga jungle, you get those jars of nectar.
after you examine the tree flowers and three jars of nectar you become "dizzy" and you get the smell of the flower on you. once that happens you will be hated by the mithras in kahzam.
to clear off that "hate" you have to sit in those pools where these Jammer leeches stay. there is 1 leech per pool. these are very hard. i solo'ed one at level 64, but it was insanely hard. one ate up my pets (since tunnel mobs are really low level) and my HQ jug pets would do only about 1/5 of the leeches health before dying. so pretty much i'd have to waste 3-4 mins using low level pets to wait for my call beast ability to recharge.
after you kill one of the leeches, you can examine the rafalsia flower again (1 leech = 1 flower). so that rdm quest starter for gullible's travels wasn't lying about the nectar was "treasure". however these nectar jars are only worth about 2k+ if you sell to the vendor (since you can't sell it anywhere else). if you're a high level like nin, you could probably do this pretty well since they hit really hard, but if you can evade most of the hits, then its easy.
you notice that people do that crawler's nest spawn the guardian crawler for rolanberries, yet that seems easier, unless you can tank these leeches, kill them, have kahzam as your homepoint, examine the flowers, get the jars, sell, and then repeat. at least these jars are money straight from a NPC and not the a.h. where you have to wait.
but i still think the reward isn't worth more than the risk.
btw. once you first get the scent of the flower after finishing the even more gullible's travels and plan to get the OPO-OPO Crown, I RECOMMEND DO NOT TAKE OFF THE SCENT BEFORE YOU START THE QUEST FOR THE OPO OPO CROWN. you will be forced to kill those jammer leeches to respawn the nectar jars to get the scent back.

was running through the tunnel with my 57WHM the other day, and spotted some dead guy. So I figured I'd be a nice guy and raise the poor sap, and suddenly Jammer Leech pops out from behind his name. I vaguely remember something about it being hard, and bolt for Bastok. It hits me 4 times for about 130-150 each, so i'm running low on hp, but no way I'm gonna stop to heal myself...so I keep running for Bastok, right through the parties and everything...and made it with 170 hp left. Had to run through about 3/4 of the tunnel ><

I soloed one of them with my THF60 and got 100xp, so they are lv60. They hit pretty hard, around 150-170dmg/hit to me, for a even match though.

As a lvl 65 pld i was owning all of the ??? for about 5 hours.. i decided that i wanted to get ruby. i tried to solo the thing but i could not beat it so i ran. it didn't follow me after a while so i turned around and invited a 60 pld and 58 thf to take it out. Almost had it. we got it down to 1/6 life and i was about to die with no mp or tp to steal mp... so i ran again. with about 50 hp left it didn't follow me anymore. /joy lol

Tired of waiting for the Morion Worm spawn to pop, I was ready to zone to Zeruhn Mines and then to Bastok. As I got closer to the zone, I noticed a group of 15-20+ leeches that someone decided to zone. Being level 50 at the time, I wasn't worried about it...until I noticed Jammer Leech in the mixed of all the names! It quickly turned its eyes on me, and delivered the first of many hits that sounded like a machine gun going off. I got hit for 279 by the Jammer after it and half the other leeches missed. If I didn't have stoneskin and blink up before this happened, I would have alot worse.
I just wish people wouldn't zone mobs that high.

I agree whole heartedly. At lvl 65 even walking into that leech train only to suddenly get aggroed is dangerous. ~8-10 leeches + a Jammer and I zoned into Zeruhn with about 200 something hp left.
I used sleepga to hold them all and kill off the adds until my 62 whm friend came and helped me kill the Jammer itself. I got 25 exp, he 23, so as stated it's definetly closer to lvl 60 than 70. However, it still hit me for 90-100 with ~320 defense, and it hits FAST even slowed which made it pretty much impossible to solo for me as a RDM.
I was just doing the Ninja quest, as a level 62RNG/31WAR, along with a 52BLM/26WHM. I pulled a leech thinking it would be cake, and bam. It hits me for 170~. So I tell the Black Mage, forget nuking, just Cure me. I shadowbinded it, barraged for 700, sidewindered for 900, and got about 5 more arrows off before it came at me again. It was almost dead, so I told the Black Mage to nuke, and I let lose a few more arrows and we killed it. It only gave us 45~ exp, so there is no way this thing is level 70. Level 59~60 maybe, plus a few hp because it is a notorious monster.

Somone already mentioned it, but they are for a kazham quest. Basically, if you want to complete the quest to get an opo crown (gives big bonuses when you eat certain foods with it equipped) you will need to complete several quests, one of which covers you in a scent which monkeys love, but mithras hate. Once you have completed the quest and gotten your opo crown you need to do the quest "Personal Hygeine" to remove the scent, so mithra will talk to you again.
This quest starts in M & P's Market (kazham) - the NPC is Gatih Mijurabi. She sends you away to bath in a hot spring. This hot spring just happens to be where the leeches are, and you need to stand under the cascading water behind where the jammer leeches are for around 5 minutes before the smell wears off. So to be safe, you'll need to kill the leeches before standing under the water. The leeches are quite easy with around 3 level 70's, or a full 60'ish party. They are spaced apart so you can pull them one by one, but use a bst or smn to pull if you are worried at all.

i was doing the ninja quest as a lvlv 30 RDM and i got a lvl 50 DRK to help me..we were searching fort he ??? when we saw leeches then he said "OMFG NM LEECHES...theyre impossible to gauge" so he asks his LS and they say with me there to throw in a few cures hed make short work of them..so i buff him with Protect II and stuff and he goes and vokes one..the thing comes and hits him for about 234 damage! so i was like o sh**! and i slap a Cure III on him..but the thing comes back and tries to hit me twice (luckly i buffed myself with Blink before that so neither wnet through" so then he says dont cast so i dont he uses Blood Wep and tells me to run im almost out of sight of him when i see "So and so was defeated by the Jammer Leech" so i turn around and its comign twords me it gets one hit off on me for 400 damage..nearly killing me when i have 445 max..so i was running like a mad man all the way back untill it wasnt there ne more..so he says he needs a raise so i search on WHM's.. there was a lvl 71 whm there so i asked her for a raise and hshe asks where..i tell her and she comes and Raise II him. she then takes us to the ??? when i was stupid enough to hit the ??? so close and theother 3 leeches almost kill me if not for 3 Cure III's she put on me..i thanked her and she asked me if i had Dem crystal..i sad yes and we went back to bastok on choco once i was talked to the guy she asks if i had yhoat crystal i said yes cuz one time i got lost and found it :P..she leads me through sea sepernt to norg where i talk to him and she Dem's us back...hehe the last part has nothign to do with jammer leeches i know but its still interesting cuz i got Teleported hehe
I dared my level 49 Thief friend to attack one...so he provokes it, it hits him for 300~400 damage, he uses Perfect Dodge, and Flees his *** off to the Korrokola->Zehrun zone. Heh. Good thing he zoned before the leech reached the low-level parties leveling there, or a massacre would've occured.
Like 5-6 thread leeches came along for the ride too. I was standing around watching it go back home, and there was a level 63 PLD there farming...I did a /shout for people to run, but the PLD had no idea what this leech was, and it aggroed him out of nowhere, he had to use a scroll of instant warp to escape. Oh, and about halfway back to its room, it just disappeared! Then I went back to its spawn area, and it had not respawned...I wonder if you could just do this to all three and then stand under the waterfall to complete the quest? o_O

The things this Leech drops is not as expensive. I mean, she is level 70 and she still drops WATER CRYSTALS!

I was a lvl 23 war/11 mnk at the time just having fun killing worms then a whm starts to run as there are about 3 leeches after her...I come to the rescue and me and around 3 other ppl come to help...all of a sudden a jammer leach pops out of the weak group of leeches I didnt know how strong it was so we took it on and it killed me in one hit I had 443 hp at the time and it hit me for a little over 500 I was stuned!!!

They are for a Khazam quest: you must kill all 3 and stay under waterfall in room to complete quest.
I went there as PLD60 to test them out after i took quest, since i heard they wiped a whole lvl 60 pt. Managed to pull just 1 and engaged it for a few seconds, and flee'd the hell out :p
It was hitting me for 100-120, but that without food buff or defender, which is about what the stuff we lvl on does. So i guess a lvl 60 pt can take 1 at a time easily.

I also saw these when I was doing my nin quest. It was me 30 war at the time, a lvl 30 rdm form my ls, and a lvl 54 drg who also helped my with my drg quest- you rock man! Back to my story, we were lost trying to find the ??? to trade to when we came across these three. We thought "Hey, that's not right... they should spawn after we trade to the ???" so we figured someone traded, then freaked out at the leeches and ran away, leaving the nin quest leeches sitting there.
Our drg buddy goes to take care of them so we can complete the quest and ends up getting brutally beaten by one of these things, shortly followed by the rdm. Good thing they didn't link!!!!! I had the sense to run and hide from the thing and the leech even started beating up this high level anon rdm in AF gear. He fought it for a while and got it down to 1/2 hp (after our drg buddy penta thrusted and jumped on it 2 or 3 times) and had to turn tail and run.
So there I was, the only one alive, searching for a raise, and a sea monk spawns in the room. I know that thing wouldn't hesitate to rape some poor lvl 30 war if I got too close so I huddled in a corner by my dead companions and prayed for the best. Eventually we got a raise from a high lvl rdm in AF (different one than before) and proceed to finish the nin quest. We still couldn't find the ??? place so we kept asking people we ran into in the mines and by the time we found the place, we had the original 3 people plus a whm, 2 rdm, a blm, and some other high level (can't remember), half of these people were japanese so we had to use the translator a lot, and we were all looking for the ???. When we finally found the ???, the real leeches got slaughtered so fast they didn't even know what hit them!
And then I went back to bastok, then norg, and finished nin, started sam quest. And I lived happily ever after... except for those times I died... The end.

i was with 11 other ppl doing the ninja quest... we were lost and we ended up coming across ONE of these guys most of us were 40+ a couple 50's also, that one alone slaughtered 11 of us the drg escaped lol. thankfully the whm casted reraise and raised us all... man one thing i never wanna go through again.

Some more info. There are 3 of them that sit in the same room, and they do aggro, and link. They've gotta be around lvl 70.
I was in a group trying to get ninja quest finished, and a friend of mine decided he would invite one of his Japanese friends (lvl 60+ whm). We had a really hard time finding out where the ninja leeches were, so she invited two of her friends (lvl 60+ thief and rdm), all of them were decked out in full AF, etc. One of the Japanese got really excited and said they found were the leeches were. We walked into the room and i was thinking to myself "Huh.. i thought they didn't spawn until you gave the item to ???, I didn't know their were 3 of them already sitting there.." We all got prepared, and then one of Japanese cast a spell on one of them. They all 3 immediately aggro'd and DESTROYED the whole party, it took down me just as fast as it took down the 60+ thief. I couldn't believe it, it was insane.
