Since there are multiple maps for the area, the best recommendation I can make is to go to:

http://www.ffxi-atlas.com/maps/korroloka_tunnel/general/

He spawns around the bridge over water on the 4th map (you can select the option on that page to show NM's too).

That said, I really don't recommend going after this guy unless you have other stuff to do in the zone. I farmed slime oil, & was going after Marble Slab for Marble Bed from Gigas, plus camping all 3 NM's in the zone. I finally got the drop today, went 1/14. And I don't think it's a coincidence it was a full moon (93-95%, I don't remember which). Every other time he dropped a crab shell and 2 pieces of meat, plus around 1800 gil.

Well, since i just got my Nadrs i'll share my secrets.

First off I'm 1/8 on this even with TH2.

kill the crab that pops in either one of the ponds.
either another crab OR Colin will pop (not in the pinds but near the 2 holes)

From the crabs ToD to the next spawn will be 5:00 gametime
(Ex: death 12:34 next pop will be 17:34)

From my experience he pops between 2-4 hours after ToD. Basically just do what i did and bring at THF for TH2. Bloody bolts help kill him fast since his very high defense.

Happy hunting ^^
Hahaha!

If you're thinking of camping Collin, here are a few tips:

Kill all crabs and pugils.
This may just be conjecture, but based on what I've read here, the placeholder's placeholder thing makes sense. I camped him today with a friend and he popped after we had killed another round of pug + crab. I don't know if killing the pug helps, but I never got two crabs to spawn (Ie: in different locations. this again my just be based on luck) until I started killing the pug as well.

Do not attempt this solo at lvl 50 unless you're very well prepared.
It's a lvl 40 mob that is killable at lvl 50-55 depending on your job.

It took my friend and I several minutes as PLDs lol. And I was /blm, so I cast on it when it Metallic Bodyed on us, we both spammed Spirits Within as well. Her first taking him down about 1/3 to almost 1/2 health, but he was a lot harder to deal with after that.

He hits pretty hard, even on Pallies, so bring cures or shadows. He does miss a fair bit though, so that's good too. If you can blind him and dia him, do. As Pallies, we weren't doing amazing damage to him. With gluttony on I did maybe 20-40s, which soon turned into 13-18s after his DEFs. Now add that to the fact he has an insane amount of HP...

I'm 0/1 on him and will be going back for him again tonight. But I had a lot of fun doing it. It can be a bit boring if you haven't got company since he hasn't many PHs and waiting for repop is pretty slow. (Was playing Star Ocean half the time till my friend got there.)

Not for the faint of heart. ^^ Happy hunting.

Killser is right the clipper that spawns in the ponds IS the placeholder i cleared it 4 times and CCC popped as 52 nin this guy was a joke except for the fact that as taru i was only hitting hte {Bastar Sword} for around 8-17 on a normal hit and 20ish-30 on a crit, blade chi did between 70-180 (depending if i was zerked or not) anyways this guy isnt as bad as i thought though i think he could have taken out my 55thf anyhow at 52 i didnt get any xp nor the drop just 1200 or 1500gil couple crab meats and a crab shell also i killed him on darksday.

I keep reading about people saying the pugils have something to do with this mob... I dont buy it. I've never seen anything that would sugguest that. I can kill Cargo then leave for exactly 2 hours, come back kill the one crab near his spawn, then Cargo will pop, I never killed a pug, ever. I don't understand how a monster of a different family can be a PH for a totally different monster family. I know for a fact that the crab that spawns in either the little ponds near the bridge there is the PH, not the pug.

After reading the posts about this NM I decided to have a go at 'em. Got lucky as Colin was at the spawn point waiting for me (or the NIN i stole him from XD) so with a quick Bio II, I laid my claim. Fight took about 15 minutes and i only used BioII and Stoneskin 3 times a piece. All in all i got 1300 gil, 2 pieces of land crab meat, a crab shell and the Nadrs. /cheer

I decided I hate this NM. 0/17 so far. Not the Greatest sword in the world thats for sure but id like to have it for my BLU24/NIN12. Always go RDM/THF with TH1, but never any luck. I got Bounding Boots on 3rd kill and I thought that would be hard. Anyways good luck to all who go for this, hopefully much better luck than ive had. /cry

ok this dude has got to be tougher than 40...
im a lvl 48 DRK and my friend (lvl 30 SAM) and i were farming and such in korroloka and we said lets just go kill him. so he sat there for a lil bit waiting for pop while i farm and then he pops. we rest to full and mug it. we both used two hour and i used up as many apirs and drains. but after he threw up scissor guard there was no hope. he was barely hurtting it and i was about dead. we probably got it down to about half and then we died. YAY fantastic.
colins strength IS indeed "impossible to gauge"

I'm 1/4 on this one, but I also camped it as 60THF, likely TH2 influenced. Moon phase was gibbous something or other, so it doesn't need to be full moon to drop. Took forever to kill too, and I think I noticed a Auto-Regen trait on it during a missfest. But I was tired, maybe not. It also has the chance to randomly poison you when it attacks, just like the sword does, and it took 10hp a tick, and lasted pretty long, so have bloody bolts or cures handy.

Now I may have claimed Colin 4 times, but I saw it spawn 6. And it never took longer than three hours, but never sooner than two. Sometimes the Monk was killed, sometimes it wasn't (the tunnel was extremely vacant one night, which was very odd). But Colin still popped between 2-3 hours.

I followed Hakaisha's post, and the only thing I disagree with is that BOTH crabs can be placeholders. Colin popped twice for me after killing the NW crab, and four times from the SE crab.

Only advice I can offer is to kill both crabs every 5 game hours (12 mins). I noticed that normal crabs would spawn no later than 5 game hours and three minutes. Colin, however, would take upwards of four more game minutes to spawn, and it's noticible if you camp it long enough. If you don't see a crab spawn in either pond after 5hours and 3minutes, get close to the bridge and be ready. It can spawn on either side, so have a clear view.
Fuck luck of shit

I was camping this ***** for 3 hours no1 was camping it, so i decided to go ahead and give it a shot.

I was there for waiting for CCC to pop, then a BST comes up and he was healing him self, CCC pops i casted "Stun" as fast i could and i dont know how but the ******* BST got the damn claim, i was shocked... and ******* mad... i decided to logg off ******* luck of ****, if only that BST would had come 5 mins later i maybe would had the damn sword for my BLU

We'll when I was camping CCC he would pop every 2-3 hours. I fought him 4 times and got the drop on the 4th try. The placeholders pop every 13 mins (the carbs) it seems that it don't matter if u kill the sea monk or the pugs. I just killed them for tp. And had no problem soloing him as a lvl 61 drk/war.
Thief Sub is useless
# Apr 30 2006 at 10:29 AM Rating: Default
Everyone says to Sub Thief and all that to kill CCC...

Subbing thief is 100% completely useless. For the sword everybody wants is RARE/EX....

So if your going to use thief at all ,make sure it is your MAIN not your SUB, and Treasure Hunter 2
sucks

THF50/NIN25.

Figured I might try the sword out for my ninja... For fun, if nothing else. Found the area and... They were already there. o.O
Even with a Corsair's knife and a little food [Just meat jerky. XD], I was only hitting for 13 max [And that was AFTER I supposedly weakened their defense].
Their accuracy's really horrible though... I only got hit three times, and that was only because I didn't pay attention to shadows. Poison would NOT stick on this guy, but I assume that's due to their weapon. >.>; I did manage to stick Kurayami on them the first time though...

The real killer against this guy? Bloody bolts. Full HP or not, these take a huge chunk of this guy's health away [At least in comparison to my normal attacks...].

Anyway, he finally went down...
1846 gil, two pieces of land crab meat, and a crab shell. :\ Think I'll stop by again in the morning.

Edit ~ Finally got the Nadrs on the fourth kill.
Spawn time seems to be around three hours... >.< Very boring to camp, since placeholders only seem to spawn every... What, fifteen minutes?

Camped this guy for a couple of days, went 1/10 on him as a 58RDM/20THF (yes i know gimped sub). I found that killing the sea monk doesn't really affect the spawn times, sometimes I would kill it every time it spawned and sometimes I would let it be, either way I couldn't tell the difference. CCC spawns every 2 hours and the place holder is the clipper, but not necesarily the one in the NE pool. I spawned him several times by killing the clipper in the NW pool. I would log out at the camp and when I looged back in the next day, I usually got a spawn after killing the first clipper, so he isn't camped that much. I never had any competition and I only ever saw one other person camping him (luckily it was one of the days I was taking abreak). Anyway, easy fight for RDM58, he has lots of def though and fights usually took about 2-3 minutes. Nice sword, can't wait to use it for farming/bragging. Good luck!

stumbled on him one day when I was farming spiders. No drop so checked it out later online then immediatly started camping him for the sword 1/8 made a big difference as a offhand weapon since the poison is fairly frequent. Im just hoping since its a Scimitar weapon it will be blue mage usable on the next expansion. ^.^

Spawns at the Jammer Leeches. His defense is very high, but he seems to have low evasion. (Atleast when I fought him.)
Placeholders is the crab and maybe the pugil, but do not kill the sea monk. It just makes spawn longer :/

Today I went down to Korroloka to go Morion Worm hunting as a MNK61/RNG30 (I like to widescan to see if he's up just to get a ToD), after the 4th worm kill and no drop yet I was close to where CCC spawns, so I walked in just to see and saw a solitary crab, so I just killed it and went on my way to the start of the tunnel. 15 minutes later ran through and got Morion Worm again and this time got the Tathlum! Dropped down to head out and just thought I'd go back and check on CCC, sure enough there he is.

I get all excited and go take a whack at him... 21 damage per punch which barely nudged his HP bar and he hits me back for 50 damage. o.o about 30 seconds go by and I realise this is getting nowhere, time to bring out the Hundred Fists. It took off about 50% of his HP and a couple of minutes later he was defeated. I got 1200 gil, Land Crab Meat x2, Land Crab Shell, and the Nadrs.

His defense was something else, I added up his HP and he has roughly 1200 HP. (exact number I got was 1194 damage dealt to him) I hit him 88 times, 1 boosted chi blast, and 3 Raging Fists total. Was Lightsday and 90% Moon for those who keep track of that sorta stuff.

Hope I was informative.

finally i got it !!!!!! yeah 1/21 ......
actually one of my LS member dropped it yesterday, i was like 'omg how is it possible', so after my exp pt i went to korroloka and camped it, it poped.... no drop: 'fine, i knew it'. Then i went to altepa to lvl my npc buddy and then decided to go quickly to korro just before going to bed; and bang it popped 20 min later and re bang i got the sword !! i wasn't even subbing thf ^^ When I saw the last line "You find a Nadrs on Cargo Crab Colin. Akria obtains a Nadrs" omg i didn't believe it.
Now i'm done with this damn crab, yeah !
2 drops in a few hours, that's strange, maybe SE changed the drop rate, maybe you should camp it now or starting again if you stopped before ^^
good luck

Friend killed him for me yesterday, I waited 1 hour 40 minutes, killing 1 clipper and 1 Sea Monk every 12~15 min. My friend Sinfulangel lv.74 THF killed it. Got drop on 1st kill, I went back 1hr 30min later, not being sure of how long it would take to spawn again, and waited from 12:30pm PST -> 2:00pm PST and no pop. Don't know what that was all about but good luck with this.
No one camps it. The Nadrs sword is damn cool, the picture on the Nadrs page doesn't do it justice, this sword blings like chrome, if anyone needs info on Garuda server, give Crisis or Kilian a /tell.
