i just soloed this as a thf55/nin27. i was worried about it killing me, but it turned out to be no prob. I had dual corsairs, and used a mithkabob before the start. My atk was 285, def 162. I started with a SA+ Viper bite, which did 146 dmg (sata viper bite was doing 600 to robber crabs in boyahda tree). then, i was hitting 10 with each knife, cept for when he did defense boost, then i was hitting 2s. I kept him blinded the entire fight with kuryami, and kept utsusemi up the whole time. My eva owned him though, and he only touched me twice, but for about 50 each hit. Both times though, i jsut hit him with a bloody bolt and got it back. The fight took about 10-15 mins, and after 6 utsusemis, 3 kuryamis, and 14 viper bites for about 50 each, i killed him. no drop. but im gonna try again.
EDIT: just got it a second time, and the fight was easier, but still no drop. If you are using bloody bolts, i recomend geting hit every now and then, cuz u can drain him for a lot more damage than u can hit.
EDIT: 3rd times a charm. ^^ killed him again and got nadrs this time. started the fight with 1/4 of my max hp and utsu yp, then drained him til my hp was full again, made it much faster. Also, cyclone and gust slash did a lot more than VB, but u cant cyclone much cuz of all the bats.
im usin nadrs in my offhand to show it off and skill up sword during boredom, i will use it with my war.
the sword is so cool!!!!

In Nyzul IsleA version of this mob can be found in Nyzul Isle. The armory crate it drops when defeated contains a ??? Sword, which can be appraised into a Nadrs.

How do u get map of this place?, and is the NM a normal spawn? if so how long between kill, Or can u spawn it with something? if so, what?

I fought this NM about 15 minutes after Aranei. Aranei didn't give me the drop that time but this sure did. Lv 55 Monk / Thief - This was a very HARD fight, he didn't hit me much because of counterstance and +2 counter, but when he did he did 80+. I used Hundred Fists when I started fight, brought him down to about 75% health. It was a very hard fight ( 800 -> 102 HP). I'll try and post a picture of the Scimitar.
are you a taru monk? most of the monks around that level have 1000+ hp
Well I have killed this Crab NM 6 times so far as a 62 ranger/thief and have yet to get the Nadrs drop. It is starting to annoy me, I really want it so i can go back to lvling my lvl 24 thief some more. I usually spawns after i kill the place holder in 12 min but I have had to kill the place holders 7 times one day before it would spawn. It usually doesnt do more damage to me then half of my total HP. But one time i did use Eagle Eye because it got me down to 200 HP. Missed atleast 3 sidewinders that fight but has never broken 500 other then that one fight. Everytime I kill it i get a crab shell, 2 land crab meats and aroung 1800 gil. Hopefully lucky number 7th kill will be more fruitful.
I hate this freakin' Crab! But yeah, I pretty much went through the EXACT thing you did; I have a THF I wanna level, and decided to get the sword. Up until an hour ago, I was 0/6 on this guy. Every time I killed him, he would drop, without fail, two pieces of Land Crab Meat and one Crab Shell, along with about 1800 gil.
However, I just fought him for my seventh time, and FINALLY got the drop. I also got two pieces of meat along with a shell, but Nadrs was there as well this time^^. I am so glad I am FINALLY free of my anger and obsessions with killing this crab so hard that he never respawns ^^;

Had a LV52 PLD and my best friend, a WHM 40 at the time, escort me through Korroloka to trigger Ninja. I was a LV30 THF at the time, so it was really scary. ;_; Anyway, the three of us are running around Korroloka looking for where I'm supposed to spawn the leeches, and the PLD calls to say he's found an NM - think we can take it? None of the three of us has ever heard of it, so we go ahead and give it a shot.
This thing has an INSANE amount of HP and Def. I didn't contribute much to the battle (I think max I did on SATA was 150) but the PLD was hacking and hacking away, and it still didn't die. The WHM had to heal him quite a few times, but in the end it was worth it - Nadrs became mine. I still have it for leveling THF, and a ton of people have asked me where I got it. ^_^

A blm friend of mine,level 55 at the time, came across Colin while looking for Morion Worm spots a few weeks ago. She engaged it, but quickly started having a hard time and warped out. A few minutes later, she asked me if I could come and help her kill it. Not doing anything else at the time, I agreed (I was also 55 at that point). We met up in Zeruhn and walked to where she saw him, hoping he was still there. Luckily, he was, and no one else was around. I took the oppurtunity to boost fully and hit him with a chi blast, then voked him. The battle only took 2 or 3 minutes, but I did do 100 Fists just for the fun of it. He has pretty good defense and a lot of hp, but his attacks aren't particularly strong or fast. We didn't get the drop, but it was a fun fight anyway.
Oh yeah, both times either of us saw him he was just hanging around in his tunnel. Neither of us spawned him either time, so as far as I know he's just a normal NM pop. I suppose someone could have spawned him before us, but it's unlikely I think.

Soloed as 64blm/whm. My Lilith's Rod (used for the highly helpful add: mp drain effect) was hitting for 5-7 (o.O) on normal hits. No problem though, just kept Aspiring him every minute and recast Stoneskin when he broke through. He hits a bit hard but with low accuracy (so it seemed to me). Got the drop, yay ^^. Oh, if you're having trouble finding the right area you may be on the wrong map (of 5); the correct map is the one with the Jammer Leeches in that little alcove.

so u have to summonit odose it sapwn there?
i solo him as 64 whm easily, took 15minutes but i was never worried once. no drop.
He also has really high defense. I went after him as level 60DRK, my Guillotines did about 200 damage when all the attacks connected. This is compared to 400-500 damage I get on IT mobs and 800-1000 damage I do to most Worthwhile mobs.
I managed to beat him, but the battle must have taken atleast 5 minutes. Without Drain, I would have been dead.

While Colin is only lvl 40, he has a horrendously high HP. Took me spamming Dancing Edge and my pld cohort spamming Vorpal Blade 3 minutes to kill the *******. (Got the Nadrs for my warrior leveling, heh)

Hey guys, this isn't a beastmaster only familiar. This is an actual NM. Spawns where it say's it spawns by killing placeholder crab. Im lvl 47 MNK, and it killed me, but I had just finished killing Morion worm, and didn't have my 2 hour, chakra, dodge, focus, etc. So I think if I had those I could have killed it. But be careful.

Just as a note, the place holders are Crabs *and* Pugils. Make sure to kill both if you're trying to pop him.
No, the placeholders are two clippers that spawn in western and eastern pools. One spawns every 10-12 minutes, the pugils are independent of it.

yes, you need something to call it, i seen someone fight it 2 times in a row, so im sure it doesnt randomly spawn, if someone could post what you need to call it, and how. i dont see any ??? where i seen it at.

I saw someone with a charmed "CargoCarrie" the other day. Is this the same? It looked like a crab, only it had some kind of harness on it's back and it was holding pottery. It was cute, but I have no idea where they got it.
That'll be Courier Carrie you saw, it has 3 baskets strapped on its back. BST pet summoned using fish oil broth. Basically the HQ crab pet.
its a specific beastmaster only monster requires a special item to summon. its like a "crab familiar +1"
