Vana'diel Bestiary: Enkelados  

Well, just killed this guy for my first time. Was easy. Came in, stayed for about 3 hours, and the thing pops (finally...). I get claim with Dia (RDM/BLM 65/32).

Fight is going well I suppose. Just like every other giga I've killed so far in the area, but with a lot more HP and higher defense. So it took about twice as long. But when I got him him to 95% HP, I saw a big rock thrown at me, then realized I was being attacked by everything in the room. /sigh. So, just because they were annoying me (messing with my camera view), I Sleepga. I had to recast about 5 times, and it never landed on this guy, just the others and the bat pet. I didn't have Tabard, but still. This guy can resist pretty well. Paralyze, Slow, and Blind landed, but I didn't need them. I just enjoy seeing mobs do absolutely nothing to me. >.>'

Well.... 0/1. And now I need sleep. Guess I'll try again tomorrow if it's not overcamped. Next time though, I'll either bring /WAR or /THF. /WAR for claiming. This thing is camped often. /THF for....duh, TH. Well, I've got a better record on this than Mimas still. 0/5 in the time I camped this guy (just ran into it 5 times). =/



EDIT: Walked back and saw the treasure chest spawned in the room with the MAgic Urns. Started killing stuff to get a key, and never did. Walked my way to the opposite room of where I found the NM last, and there he was. Couldn't have been 20 minutes after his last pop. And he already had a bat, so it'd been sitting there for a bit. 0/2. >_<

2.5 mil on Gilgamesh

I have been campin for a little while. He's no that hard of an NM. I'm a Drk56/War28 and i have no problem soloin him. Currently I am 0/4 on drop. Hopin he drops soon cuz bracelets are worth 1.6-1.7 mil on Sylph server and i need tohe gil for my lv 59 Haubergeon.

just killed this ******* i did SA penta thrust for 1010 i finished kicking his *** i lost about 10-30 hp from each hit and 100 on power hit as a 70DRG/24THF[yea i know big gimp >.>] and in the end all i got to show for it was some lowzy socks <,<gl to who ever else is camping him im off to another for my Colossal is calling

I was wondering can this guy charm a avatar? i havent messed with corse or corse nm's that charm im not worried if he can ill just "Release" and resummon i just wanna see one of them get charmed for the hell of it hehe. Thx for the help in advance ^^

is this guy a HNM? can a lvl 52drg/whm kill him?

We've been camping this guy, for about 8 hours now. We've seen one pop, and we got the drop, so I'm 1/1 on him, but I'd rather be 2/2 or at least 1/2. Eh, maybe he'll pop soon.

EDIT: After 14 hours of camping, we did it. I'm 2/2 on this guy now. Thank you Jicent for sticking with me on camping him, and not killing me and waiting for me to be uncharmed! Hooray! I had a chest ****** when I saw the drop.

What if the giga released you? Then you would just vanish... but where would you vanish to? I dunno thought that was funny.

Walking past Enkys spawn, im like wow hes just sitting here and theres a gil seller sitting by him... Im thinking haha sucker she must have gone afk. So I claim Enky and the monk gil seller start wacking me. I was just like O no you didnt, her being a 60 mnk, me being a 74 thf. I engage her, Def down Bolt> Blind Bolt> Sleep Bolt> SA Dancing Edge FTW!!! lol, killed enky and got the drop woot 1/1. Not every day you get to SA > Dancing Edge a gil seller :-D

I was wondering, if i claimed him and waited long enough, will it summon bats to fight or can he summon only when not attacked?

Camped this guy for couple of hours just yesterday. First time around me and a WHM from my LS camped it. It popped and we forgot about it being a BST, so I got charmed and took down the WHM against my will. The whole time we were there though we only saw 2 other people run past, neither seemed to be interested in the NM.
We took it down 4 times, did decent damage to it with me being 51WAR/25NIN, The battle took no more than 5 mins max. With nobody else camping it we just waited for it to pop its bat before attacking. After he Famileared the bat seemed to be hitting me for around 40 damage, which is 10 more than the Giant himself hit for per swing so if you're a spot low it may be a good idea to take down the bat after he 2 hours. The bat only took a couple of swings to kill.
Also whilst killing the Bonecutter placeholders I noticed before each pop there was an extra Bonecutter in addition to the usual one which seemed to spawn at an odd time. I also had to kill the other giants to ge the Bonecutter to pop.
Also if you're camping in pairs or groups at a lower level it might be best for the tank to uniquip weapons and cancel buffs at around 50% HP remaining if you're going to claim it before it brings its bats out so you dont cause too much hassle to your fellow camper, although I have never tried that yet.
The WHM also said he tried casting Erase and Sleep on me whilst I was charmed but he got the message "You cannot attack this target" Not sure if its the same for meleeing, probably is.

Just a few observasions I made while i was there, hope it helps someone.

can he respawn while the rooms are full?

I was camping Ogygos for his bracelets as they are now upto 2.5mil on Asura. No pop after about 45 mins camping and im getting sleepy so i thought id try Enkelados, but as War45/Thf22 i didnt think I stood a chance.

So, i get upto the next floor, check the two circular rooms, and there he is! unclaimed. So, i kill a couple of the gigas near him and then rest, still no claim. I then ate some rice dumplings, called out my lvl33 npc healer and voked him.

The crazy thing is, I won!! :D But, no drop :( I just wanted to say that with my npc out and some decent attack food, he was fairly easy for a war45 ^^
