It's a lottery spawn through Bonecutters in the little rooms where he spawn.
the other Nms of that floor have nothing to do with it.
I have experienced a 30min-2hour1/2 spawn time by killing the placeholders almost as soon as they popped.
I'm a ranger 64 and I got charmed once out of 6 tries of Enky, so I think anybody can get charmed. Because of that charm ability I suggest people to camp him alone, or kill their friends >.<.
One of my friend pld's killed my friend drg because of that...
Anyway, I'm 0/7 and bored. Thought 7 was the lucky number but it doesnt seem like it ; ;

I just fought him as lvl62rdm/nin not hard at all. With phalnx(sp) up he was hitting me for 0-3dmg. I just waited for him to summon his pet then attacked, took about 1min.
0/1 with the bracelets, and 1/1 with a pair of old stinky socks

1/1 on this. Was easy to camp since there were only 800 people on the server due to POL stupidity... but now the real question is are the bracelts worth the 1.4 mil they're going for on Bahamut to keep and use on DRG?

54WAR/THF good for this? I'd like to smash this thing with my pretty Executioner but...I'm not liking the sounds of this. Should I bring a second person along just in case he tries to charm me or aggros me BEFORE he calls his pets by some chance?
Then again...they're probably gong to want in on the lot of he dropped...and I want those bracelets to USE, not sell...

Spent a lot of time camping Enky, here are my observations.
1- He's a completely random pop (lottery). I fought him one time, then again 15mins later in the opposite room. Also spent 2-3hrs without seeing him. Although, theres a SLIGHT chance someone else got him.
2- There's ONE placeholder for him, the Gigas Bonecutter. He'll pop by himself. The bonecutter/enky spawns a certain amount of minutes after the last kill ON THE DOT. I cannot give you this information though, cause it took me 10 friggin kills to figure it out...
3- I DOUBT Mimas and polywhatever his name is have to be dead for Enky to pop. Camped 3hrs solo, never killed Polywhatever his name is. And no one was on my floor. Got 3 times, 1, 1 15mins later, and the third about 1.5hrs later.
4- Generally, the Bonecutter pops by himself, NOT at the same time as the other Gigas in the rooms. Same with Enky.
5- Enky pops without his bats. I'd advise you to wait for them to be summoned to avoid being charmed if you can. The first time I fought him without his bats, he tried to charm me twice. Didn't stick. 2nd time, I chi blasted cause someone else was camping him in the room. Got him down 1/3rd health and he charmed me. The NIN camping him then proceded to attack him. I ALMOST killed the NIN, but the NIN kileed Enky before I did. Only got his socks though ^^ (61mnk/30thf)
6- He's a stingy *******. 0/14 on drops...
Side not, 14th time I fought him , he popped right next to a 51 MNK. Also, some kinda taru mage was running down the hall towards him. I chi blast (reluctantly cause i just KNOW he's going to charm me) and start the fight. Of course he charms me, and the taru attacks him. I am WRECKING the taru for 60-70ish per hit with criticals over 100. He just keeps curing himself. He looses claim (cause he throws slow on me) and the 51MNk starts attacking him. SHE GETS THE DROP. &*^*&^&$#!!!!!

I have killed him 4 times with no bracelets. Here was the story as 50mnk/25war:
Once upon a time, I was farming for gil by killing pots and elementals. Then, i happened to hump to him for the 1st time in the eastern room but the 75 ninja was fighting it. Then all over sudden, the ninja was charmed, leaving the mob unclaimed. Then, i happened to jump to it. Ouch, got owned by 75 ninja due to excessive stun but i almost had the mob. No clue if it dropped or not.
2nd time in another day, I was well prepared and killed placeholders and 30 mins later, its rear purple face showed up in the west and waited to pop the pet. Got linked by all giants in the area but i hundred fisted them to oblivion. Only stinking socks. Searched again for 3 more hours w/o pop with no witnesses.
3rd time in another day, I met him again after 1 hour of camping it. I pulled him and fought him behind the cerment door in the east. It was a huge problem for a giga bat to jet stream me for over 200 dmg with familiar. ended up with 274 hp but only another socks. No witnesses
3 hours after the 3rd time, I've got competition with a drg and thf. 10 mins later, i saw him in the west and silenced him with no evidence left behind. Socks again.
The last time i met him was march 12, a 60 pld got the claim but i knew he wouldnt get too far. Therefore, he was charmed and i stole the kill. Got socks and mahogany shield.
I got one solution, his drop rate is very horrible. Estimate pop time for this guy appears to be roughy 2 1/2 hours. These bracelets would go nice with my gear even though im a galka. Can anyone else tell the story about this mob?

This guy is on a 30Minute - Hour spawn. He will ONLY pop if both Mimas AND Porphyrion are dead and his place holders are also dead. My and some members of my LS hang out up here we hadn't seen this guy in three days till I made the suggestion, next spawn of his PH was him.
killed today 2x as bst 50... got 12 xp (with pet out) got socks both times, and the shield.
took maybe half my jug's HP before it died. (o, and it cant charm pets :D) so you can party fight him as long as a pet tanks...

seen only once in endless camping times...didnt repop in 8hrs time after, multiple times camped and not seen at all...any info on possible repop timer ?
As for his lvl, killed him and 4linking Gigas as THF60/NI (started fight with 470/955HP and ended with 200/955HP)

Found this guy while wandering around lost looking for thunder eles, noone else was around, ran up and claimed it. Easy fight even with the other two gigas links, kept buffs up and picked off links with arrows in between castings, health never dropped by more than 100, used lightning roar once, no other ws/special moves. Got 94 gil, gigas socks, and 12 xp as a 53 rdm, which would put him at lvl 40~.

I was half-heartedly farming one day and came across Enkelados. *After* I claimed him I realized I didn't let him call a pet. Whoops. ><
He never got a chance to charm me though -- I overkilled it with Blood Weapon. No drop; only a shield and some socks.

I'm just curious; when all of you fought him did he spawn at F-8 or J-8? Does he really spawn at both?

i've killed him 2 more times... the second time he spawned without a pet and i killed him. he used charm and i resisted, but still no drop. the third time i was in a PT and we killed him and 3 other gigases that were there. he used familiar on his bats and those bats were hard as hell to kill after we killed him. i'm now 0/3 on his drop ><
Soloed him as a 60 THF/NIN (and 2 other giants that linked with him). He doesn't hit harder than the other giants in the area but has a lot more HP. Bring bloody bolts just in case.
