I heard that this also drops "monsoon kote"--acc+6 in rainy weather. Is this just some kind of hoax? I don't see this as one of the listed dropped items. Anyone heard of this?
71 DRG whm soloed this today he was waiting all day he sad cuz i was in his LS do like i went along in his PT i dident even wana get close to it really he had lots of juice and potions and stuff like he did get a lil close to death he kept kiting it and having his wyvrn kill it so i know drgs can solo it ^^

I am a lvl 47 RDM with Phalanx and Stoneskin which i always have on with sneak on the boat, i still think this guy could 1 shot me, or get damn close to it, maybe a 2 shot >.<

Just a note, that I have seen this fished out on Qufim Island while lvling my Black Mage.
Incorrect. You saw a sea monk. This is a NM. Its the same look/style/type of creature, this is bigger, and MUCH meaner

my homeboy xophieal murdered him last week all you saw was misses xophieal like 100 times poor sea horror didnt stand a chance he soloed the whole fight and pwned it, so nope aint gotta be 75 nin to do it hes 70 nin/35war (with scorpharnest)

strange thing was when I was a lvl 23 rdm and it popped on there I hid in my usual spot but it still came up to me, even with sneak on and battered the crap outta me, lol Sea Horror's are much smarter I think

Fought this thing yesterday with a friend for fun. Went as 65mnk/32war and friend was 61rdm/blm.
After trying it once and running out of time (ship docked -_-) it spawned a few trips later. Anyways some rdm there said we'd die trying it.. it pops I voke and hit 100fists (to make sure it dies before docking), and my healer DCs 0.0. Other rdm wont heal me because "we said we could beat it". My friend returns half way through fight and SeaHorror starts 2hr, I kite it just to save hp. It's dead soon after. Hours spent camping just because ppl think it can't be done,and beacuse of it's history. Very fun fight IMO.

I was just wondering since I have a bit of a grudge against this guy. Can a whm75/blm37 solo this thing? I wanna know if I even stand a chance against it.
My LS was doing a fishing trip and hoping for pirates. No pirates, but we did get 3 Sea Horrors. The fight I recorded had about 16 people going at him with a good chunk of us in the 50-60 range. Fight lasted about two minutes tops. It was quite fun goofing off on the ferry and we got to kill this guy 3 times for revenge ^.^
Wow, talk about an accidental meeting, well anyway, my lsmates and I were waiting for pirates and on the ship a little sea horror was waiting for us, we accidentally pulled it thinking it was a monk, lol well, fortunately we were all 60 and happen to be a good trio setup, ninja red mage and ranger, well long story short, we got payback for all those one hit kills the bugger did to us in the newb days...and it only dropped a stupid shall shell :/ Gave us 64 exp though

The first time I saw this guy I didn't know what to think.. I'd been going back and forth from Mhaura to Selbina all day, just fishing. Then he pops and I get close enough to check him, decide he's trouble, and head for the door. I made it to the door, but as I was opening it the thing turned around, swatted me, and I was gone. Lay there and watched five or more others fight it (no clue what levels, as they were anon.) They seemed to be holding up pretty well.. for a while. This story ended in Mhaura with a pile of bodies on the dock - a funny sight.

Going to try this guy out solo. 71 PLD. Got a few items for a little fun. Hermes Quencher for his 2 hour...Eye Drops for blind...Yagudo Drink...Icarus Wing for self skillchain. Should be fun. XD
I've seen a level 73 Elvaan Paladin in full Adaman get destroyed by this guy... A high level BLM had to come to his aid... You have no chance. >.>
why would you need a hermes quencher for his 2hr? Just turn on invincible and you're laughing at him.

I was going to Valkrum for my first time as a level 14 theif and i was being accompanied by a level 50 white mage, i was stupid and went on deck to see this moving around. I asked him what it was and he told me to go back under the ship. I figured someone would just kill it seeing that people were smashing smaller stuff, so i ignored his command. Then he comes after me, i look around to only see a few Tarus fishing with sneak and invisible on, so i ran to the captains room thinking he could'nt get me there. I /sitted behind the captain wondering how he could be so calm when he opens the door and smacks me for over 400 damage.
I am gonna try and solo this with my lvl 69 rdm/blm. Everyone tells me I will get owned. Well quite possibly, but then where the hell is the fun in fighting it, if it is too easy at 75.
Any other rdm's solo this?? At what level? Nice to hear some war stories.
I am after this guy for revenge. Been on the boot a few times over the past few days. No spawn yet. Funny, when I want it, it doesn't spawn, when I don't want it....it does :(
EDIT: I have fought Charybdis with my shell, so I know what I can expect :P

My friend was escorting me from windurst for mission 2/3 back in the day, and it agroed me... i died, but he a 70RDM/35NIN soloed and killed it. When he used convert the Horror scored a critical and took him to 2HP, but Cure 4 took care of that.
So if you do fight it, be careful.

I am a 67RDM o.O and i took this on. I was ridin boat back after helping a friend camp an NM in Onzozo, Where i was tank, so i had WAR subbed.
67RDM/WAR; It popped killed some fishing people and i was like... eh? so i buffed, grav'd and started swinging, para and blind helped a lot.
When it 2hr'd just Grav and run around the cabin til it wears, main problem is if you need to convert its like impossible lol cause stoneskin lasted 4 hits, and it has double attack.
Ship ended up docking right as i was using the last Vorpal Blade to finish it off, so i didnt get to kill it, but i could have. o.O

i (53 SMN/WHM) had to heal my *** off to keep him alive
he used 2hr right from beginning in this battle
could have been easier if we were in the same PT but we still took it down
my MP was half way down (did a raise on a noob in the middle too) and he had about half his HP left (was spamming cure III and divine seal cure III)

I was on the ship with a 75WAR/NIN and a 70-ish anon MNK/SAM and the warrior (probably in his haste to claim phantom) ran up and aggroed the horror, he did about 3 laps around the boat changing eq when I mentioned I could heal him if he wanted to take it on. Things are going great, then the horror pops hundred fists, first thing I think is Elemental Seal + Sleep2 to put him down till it runs off. I'm a 49BLM, so that might have been a factor, but he resisted anyway. Long story short... is it sleepable?
