My winning group was:

PLD, RDM, BLM, BLM, BLU/THF, SAM

SAM and BLU/THF would make a Darkness skillchain (Tachi:Gekko to CASA Vertical Cleave) and the BLMs would MB either Blizzard IV or Freeze II. The BLMs didn't really pull much hate, but the BLU did (me). The PLD actually died to Divine Judgment, causing an eventual wipe but it was fine because Alexander does not Regen, even when left alone. So after the wipe we all got out of range until unweakened then we continued the assault. Aside from the unfortunately big Divine Judgment, the RDM and PLD had no trouble keeping the PLD alive.

The goal you should shoot for is getting through part one of the BCNM with no deaths. Alexander is tough defensively and the cures are annoying, but Raubahn is far more dangerous offensively (600+ Circle Blade that wipes shadows to all around, possible 1200+ Seraph Blade, 1100+ Eyes On Me, etc.)
Oh wow

This guy is a pain. It will use something gospel and heal itself for quite a bit. Be sure to have an A+ stunner. I have yet to beat him because the stunners are slow and the time limit is short. You spend most of your time killing that pain in the *** BLU Raubahn! Be careful because around 50% and 15% it does a move that I can't remember what it's called but it WILL kill you. I'm not sure if it is AOE. More than likely it is because the PLD got fried and wasn't near the mages so not sure.

That would be Divine Judgement...and no it won't :P on 2/3 runs the PLD has survived, albeit barely. Best plan is for DDs to disengage and move away from Alexander (more importantly, the tank) when he's around 50% and have the BLM nuke him to the point of using his 2-hour while the WHM/RDM/SCH/whoever curebombs the tank. Divine Judgement is centered around the tank, not a given area, so make sure you're not overly close to whoever has hate at the time and you should be set.

The best plan I've read of involves having DDs run back to the area where you killed Raubhan (out of Alexander's Draw-in range) and wait for the 2-hour to go off. Let the tank die, if time permits, and tractor him/her back. Full rest for MP/HP, then try to blast through the last 50% as quickly as possible.
