I love this guy ^^ I camp necklaces pretty regularly, and he's the guy I warm up on. Always there to greet me, to say hello, and give me another knife :P

Musta killed him about 50 times with various different jobs now. The first time I saw him my heart almost stopped :P confused him with Torrent I guess.

But still, he's fun fodder :)

Notorious for wearing a rastafarian hat, failing miserably at bobsledding, and escaping from a maximum security prison. But it's all good. Now, pass the dutchie on the left hand side.

This guy was a pansy. Checked as "impossible to gauge" but died like "too weak to be worthwhile." Good times, great oldies. On to the dragon and rank 3!

I sure wish I could use that aspir knife for my blm sub, tho...

Why do people bother to post that this item is useless, they shud know full well that any item that is rare/ex means its either very hard to get *as it has 100% drop rate this is not the case* or it is needed for a quest, as this quest gives you warp II then i see this a one of the best money saving NON NM'S in the game. And as a side note, ex means u cant sell the item, rare means you can hold 1 of said item

You also need this weapon for a mission. Bastok 2-3, I believe.

About the knife:

IT DOES NOT GIVE YOU MP!
It just drains it from the enemy
I don't know how many times this has been said or how many times it takes to get the message through.

Useless knife, looks cool though.

WHo ever said that NM's had to be Impossible to gauge to be an NM?
NM only refers to the fact of the monsters being location specific and not found all over vanadiel

moreover has anyone ever thought that maybe the reason why a lvl 50 can see him as impossible and a lvl 20 as easy is because of their jobs

different classes may be better at judgng the ability of NM's based on the job of the NM

THATS a definition of an NM for those who are pondering about the /check.
Aspir knife for MP drain
# Apr 12 2005 at 5:14 PM Rating: Decent
I only think the drain mp additive would be good for lvling brd, seen how they usually use whm as sub job and they dont have the most mp. So it would be rather usefull to have mp drain with a knife to restore it. I guess that's what it is for...
this guys a joke

Okay, this guy is a puss, but the knife you need for a rank mission... Maybe a Smn could use it for equipment?

It's ex, can you use two if the same ex item?
.
# Dec 30 2004 at 8:10 AM Rating: Default
This is no NM.
There are absolutely zero campers on this thing as:

1) 100% drop
2) Rare/Ex, not sellable
3) It sucks

Farming necklaces in Giddeus and I saw this guy 3 times, killed him in 2 hits or so.

This guy has a high spawn rate, because, I was in giddeus for an hour yesterday, and I saw him killed by pc's three times! I never did fight him, because every time I saw him, he was already fighting someone else. I will get the knife later to say I got it, I guess.
this drop is ok
# Aug 20 2004 at 8:45 PM Rating: Decent
the aspir knife is ok not all that is good just to lvl your rdm brd if your using whm as sub rdm/nin just at low lvls tho the mp drain is rare you wont get it like every time you hit the mob i killed it when i was farming necklaces for my norg fame for my nin scrolls i gotten the knife and the shield the other weak a s nm droped

Not all named monsters are notorious monsters. Both Eyy Mon and Zhuu Buxu the Silent are named monsters with a 100% drop rate and very short respawn time.

The items they drop are for the Rank 2-3 missions from Bastok and San d'Oria, if they choose to go to Windurst first.

These 2 named monsters are similar to Fodderchief Vokdek, the orc that you must defeat if you're doing Mission 2-3 from Bastok or Windurst and you decide to go to San d'Oria first.

All Notorious Monsters con Impossible to Gauge, regardless of your level, job, race, fame, or rank. They also have lower drop rates and longer respawn times, as they're not involved with any scripted mission events such as the Named Monsters for the various 2-3 Missions.
