General Information
Hippomaritimus's Special Attacks
Historical InformationHippo is derived from the Greek word hippos, which means "horse". Maritimus (where the word "maritime" is derived) means "of the sea/ related to the sea/ coastal". As such, Hippomaritimus (a portmanteau of Hippo- and -maritimus) roughly translates to "Horse of the Sea" or "Sea Horse".

soloed quite easy with bst56/whm, just called a pet and did the work. no drop.

Lvl 62 rng with bloody bolts did the trick as usual. Hit me for 248 once but it didn't take much more than a couple slug shots to kill him.
I find it funny being called a newb, I have been playing these games long before most of you were born. LOL World of Greyhawk ring a bell? Le Maison De Guerre Forever.

Hey Anyone know the Drop Rate for the Robe? Solo'ed this thing as 75Drk/33thf
With no difficulty. Anyway No Drop even with TH1, but I dont normally hold my breath with TH-TH4 anyway. Also how do you get it to spawn... Ive just randomly found it twice this week while helping a Few noobs farm support job quest items.

Just duo'd this, and from the other post I was expecting a hard fight. No drop however.
Max hit was 100 on a 50 war/nin, he doubled attacked like normal pugils in Valkrum. Also spammed intimidate for his TP ability, only one screw driver for 184.
Pretty sure the 51 WHM could have solo'd him. He slowed/para with out incident and I had him dead before it wore off.
2,000-2,500 sounds about right.
Also yielded 21 EXP to me and 22 to the WHM. 50WAR/NIN & 51WHM/SMN so he's somewhere in the low 40's.

I just tried to solo him as a lv 44 WHM, and it cleaned the floor with me in like 30 seconds.
My ls mate came out to raise me as a lv. 75 WHM/ 37 NIN, and it took him a good 2 min to get him, with a hexa, and dual clubs, don't underestimate this one ^^
We garnered its probably around lv 50-55
