Fighting them with a ranger, we didn't quite know which skillchain to use, as our earth options pretty much sucks, with myself being a monk.

If it can help anyone else looking for what to chain on this, we went raging fists > sidewinder, for a detonation chain.
Chain damage was usually very average, but burst was decent and, those two weapon skills being among the best available for the two classes, it seemed like the most effective way to go about this.

try using backhand blow to start an SC, its not as powerful as raging but still does decent damage for me
Out of curiousity...

Has anyone tried turning away from them when they go to use their silence/paralyze attack? For some odd reason, these strike me as being sight-based specials. >>

Speaking of Labyrinth of Onzozo.....

I lvl'd off them from 60-64

Best to have a mage in the party macro silena and paralyna as torama's spam these status ailments.

God I love charming and fighting things. Especially after they have both used Blaster on each other.

You lotted on the assault jerkin as a whitemage? On behalf of all the melee jobs that are dying to get their hands on it, I'd just like to say:

I hate you.

I think its a pricky thing when melee jobs lot on mages spell drops.

If its open lot then lot, simple as that

There is a HUGE difference between melee lotting on a spell that could be sold and mages lotting on a melee piece of equipment that is rare/ex, meaning that the mage (unless they have a melee job leveled) will have NO use for it at all.

At least if a melee lots on a scroll, they can sell it and someone can get some gain from it, as opposed to a mage with an assault jerkin who pretty much has no use for it other than to have it take up space and end up getting tossed.

Er, believe it or not, that IS the level range. The ones in the Temple are significantly weaker (aka. I can solo them) than the ones in Onzozo (I exp on those >.>). It's being more accurate than you think o.O
Scent

They WILL detect you by scent. You have to be in the yellow for this to take place. they SMELL your BLOOD. :) Hope this clarifies.

Im pretty sure these things detect by Sight. I ran past like 10 of these with ONLY invis on and non aggroed me.
#REDACTED, Posted: May 21 2004 at 9:49 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) yes they do. use sneak then you run right in front of them and then you will see they detect by scent.
