Vana'diel Bestiary: Forger  

I soloed this guy as a MNK30/WAR15. Equips were: Cougar Baghnakhs, Attar of Roses, Compound Eye Circlet, Reraise Earring, Mercenary's Gi, Battle Gloves, Windurstian Ring, Emperor Band, Purple Belt, Mercenary's Sitabaki, Mercenary's Kyahan. I had a Hi-Potion +1 that I didn't end up using. I prepared ahead of time by fighting a bunch of monsters to build up 300% TP. Boosted 3 times, used Dodge and Focus before spawning. Spawned Forger, hit Combo, then used Hundred Fists until it died. Might have used a second Combo in there. Can't remember for sure. Over all, pretty easy fight, though I probably wouldn't have won or at least would have needed my Potion without Hundred Fists.

i just soloed this as a 36 galka mnk/dnc decently equipped. it was hitting me for 90-100 but would miss from time to time and the healing waltz was only healing 69 so i was falling behind in the healing slowly. i started with 300 tp. at first i was worried about losing my pop item but then it berserked so i thought i'd be dead fast so i hit hundred fists and it was over in about 15 seconds. got my bomb steel, gonna try the tree one next once i get my 2hr back. got 50 exp for it.

I just did this for two people as SMN49/WHM24.
Ifrit: Crimson Howl, then Double Punch (did around 578).

After Double Punch, he just smacked the mob around a few more times and it was over.

I buffed the party of 3 with Stoneskin, Hastega, Aerial Armor, Protect 1, Shell 1, and Barfira. All of it was up at the end of the fight, nothing had dropped or been used up. Nobody got hit. No cures were needed. Was at half mp at the end of the fight due to using the two Bloodpacts and about 15 seconds of keeping Ifrit out. Cake. I think the damage done by the two level 30 friends in the party was negligable compared to Ifrit, so i count this as being solo.

I didn't know how hard this guy would be, but I've had Samarai flagged for quite awhile. So I decided to go and get this guy tonight as a 46 war/23 whm.

This guy was easy, though he was hitting me for 10-75 Hp everytime. He would've been easier but I was worried about an Earth Elemental kickin it behind me when I was fighting him. Needless to say that 2 Raging Axes and 1 Divine Seal/Cure 2(just in case the Earth Elemental decided to join in) he was dust. And out came my Bomb Steel, and actually got 20 exp for this!

I gave myself a Cure 3, with Regen waited til I had 60 mp and 600 Hp(only 2/3rds of full on both) and got up, smoked the Earth Elemental in about 30 secs and got 2 Earth Clusters. The Earth Elemental did only 20 points of damage to me, no biggie Regen made it appear as if he didn't even touch me. Took my happy butt outta there passed by a 30 war/Nin got her back up to full health, and went back to Basty happy.

I'd say that at least a 44 war/22 whm should be able to solo this. I soloed this and the only trouble I had was wondering weither or not if I cast anything if the Elemental was going to aggro. So indeed at least a 44 should be able to solo this. Maybe a 41-42 if you have Mighty Strikes ready to go and a few of cure 2's or hi potions, but you still might need a pl in case things go wrong.

I had 820 Hp to start off and even with shield he did 700 hp of damage to me. Also I didn't have anything up on me except Regen to start off the match, just Protect and Shell 1. And I didn't cast anything on him. Just straight melee on him.

Just don't underestimate how hard he hits, cuz though he's a wuss in taking damage he can dish it out.

solo'ed him as a 41drg/20whm. Used a boiled crayfish for added def. Buffed before fight protect, shell, aquaveil, blink, then rested to get my mp back. while i was resting the earth elemental spawned so i stood up and killed it which didnt even hit me once so all it did was boost my tp. Then fully healed and with about 60%tp from the earth elemental traded the steel thing to the ??? forger spawned pretty easy fight. Got scary for a second cuz he was hitting pretty hard and i wasnt spamming dia fast enough. He got me down to 90hp once but after that i started spamming dia a lil better worked mp hp to about 230ish had 100tp used double thrust which landed for 300dmg forger dies. I had 91mp left so i could have kept fighting for a while. i used double thrust twice. never even used jump or highjump actually i save them to interupt casting but all he cast was berserk so between that and my spamming dia never used my jumps. Easy fight for a drg this level just dont get scarred when ur hp gets low and id recomend dia for healing breath as cure takes to long to cast. And i didnt use my 2hr btw.

I have had the 2 items for SAM quest in my inv for months now ( i flagged it while in Norg for Ninja Scrolls) well last night i was bored and about to logg and decided to cruise by and take Stray Mary if I could, then go see what kinda trouble Forger would be to a RNG43/NIN21. Well, i get to the ??? and Utsusemi'd up and ate a Rice Dumplin. Spawned him and after my shadows dropped, he starts hittin me for 100~130. Since RNG HP is gimp in the first place, i started to freak out so I Barraged for about 400ish and his HP bar moved slightly... had a few hits on him and all he had lost was maybe 10%, by this time, i was down to about 266/686 so was like all right, imma die. So i EES'd him and he dropped. O.o I look at my log and it shows my shot hit him for 1360 ... O.O

For quite some time I had my Samurai Quest active, and was waiting till I was high enough to solo Forger, and the Guardian Treant. \

Last night I had hit level 44 in Western Altepa, and was doing some random questing today, so I grabbed my SAM quest items just in case I found someone willing to help me with these NMs.

Since I had to go through Konschtat Highlands to get to Selbina from Jeuno, I thought to myself: "heck, I'll attempt Forger, and warp out if my pet starts getting beat down". Well, I called out a Funguar Familiar and started killing things, to accumulate TP, till my pet and me were sitting at 300%TP. I was pondering on wether or not to call my NPC helper, but, I didn't, so I could save her as a last resort, in case 2 of my Jugs died to Forger.

Well, I headed to Forger's spawn point (D-8), traded the Oriental Steel to the ??? marking, and immediately set my 300%TP Funguar Familiar on Forger. I did the same, so I could empty my 300%TP, too. Well, my Funguar used a Frog Kick for massive damage, and I used my WS for some extra damage, taking the Forger down to like 20% health, lol! A few seconds later, Forger lay wasted and I had acquired my Bomb Steel for SAM Quest!

Definitely a joke for any BST 40+.

This thing is WEAK against fire... not strong. Firega2 from a lvl 57blm did 570dmg. Freeze AM did 400

well very easy fight as brd 75 >.>

This fight is fairly easy if you are a thief and you use your 2-hr. I traded the oriental steel to the "???" and used Hide right after that. Snuck behind Forger and used Sneak Attack, did about 275, and just used 2-hr right away; used Berserk as soon as I 2-houred, soloed it fairly easily, from 732 HP to 323. Now on to the Guardian Trent....

I just soloed him as 54RDM/26BLM, and i must say thiswas super easy. I dont have phalanx and i forgot to cast blink so i had protect 3 and stoneskin up. he only got me down to half like i cure 4d and he barelytouched me afterwards. ihad ice spikes and enlbizz on but i didnt need them. was hitting for over 50 dambage normally. only got to use 1 wep skill b4 he went down, usedshing blade it hit fora decent amount. like 150ish. If ur a rdm and ur 50 or higher this fight is a piece of cake

solo'd it as a 55blm/whm was pretty easy used mana fond when my mp ran out and just tried to keep bind on it.

this guy is a breeze for lvl50 rdm, just buff up, have haste. stoneskin+phalanx and refresh up all the time and u will be fine, its good to use ice spikes and enblizzard for extra damage^^

I went solo and fought this sucker.

How I did it:
2-hour beginning of fight which made our hp equal for the 1st half of our life than 2 hour went off and he started to kick butt for a bit but than I used a X-Potion which recovered 150HP. After that both of us were near death when Forger got me to 79hp than I used Sturmwind for 525 damage! I defeated him.

Went in as a WAR43/MNK without food(It would of probably been better if I used food...)

I really want SAM sub for DRG I am 51WHM/25SMN, do you think I can solo him?

Solo'd this today as a 43mnk/21war. I summoned my NPC character to help (only second time I've used). Ate some squid sushi, used dodge and focus. Ended battle with 308/977hp. Not to hard of a battle, even got 19 exp out of it.

I'm a level 45 smn and my buddy is a level 46 whm. We thought we would try to get sam last night and we fought Forger first. I only summoned Carby twice, but the fight was way to easy. If you have a lvl 45+ smn buddy, have him help you out.

Finally beat this thing!

Savagely raped the Forger with solo 51WAR/25NIN (unsurprisingly). He was half-dead before he wore through my first six shadows, then I finished him off with a 700dmg Spinning Axe.

I had one hell of a time soloing this guy as a 50RDM/BLM. Stoneskin would wear within 3-4 hits, and after that, I'd get pummeled for nearly 50 dmg.

I ended up beating him, but without much MP or HP left. I also had to {Stoneskin} + {Convert} to keep refresh my MP.

My advice to any other RDM attempting to solo this? Keep Blink & Stoneskin up the entire time. It may be a slow fight, but going at it any other way leaves you with a huge chance of being embarassed by a level 33 NM.

Tried soloing this for a friend. As a 60 BLM all enfeebles were resisted, and all of my spells were resisted for more than half. I was taking 50-60 damage a hit and ended up Manafont > Warp IIing my friend before eating dirt...

Pretty ridiculous for a level 33, NM or not.

I just tryed to solo Forger as a lvl 38 bst/19 whm.. only reason why I tried is because I had an instant warp scroll with my HP in Norg.. and there wasn't anyone on I knew at 3:30am to try and help.. I brought a Courier Carrie and a Homonuculus with me.. and unfortunately forgot food, which may have won me the fight.. Let's just say, Carrie got her *ss kicked, but I had let my timer run down before starting the fight, so as soon as she dropped, I called Homonuculus.. at this point Forger still had 75% of his HP and had already Berserked.. so he was taking off about 120.. because of Homon's high evade and counter, it was actually even at 35%.. Homon's TP hit 100+ so I used Sic, hoping for a good WS.. and I get Scream, which did nothing.. suffice it to say, at this point I started running.. I was hoping to find something to charm, but then remembered it's worthless because Highland mobs would die in 1 hit.. and my Call Beast timer was still at 3min 30 secs.. Forger got close enough for me to see how much HP he had left.. about 10% and he began to heal, I figured, throw Dia on him so his HP won't go back up.. WRONG IDEA.. within 3 hits my HP were down to 65 and I was running like crazy.. luckily this thing is slow so I managed to distance enough to stop aggro and make it to the Crag to hop on a choco.. so I ride back over to see if he's still there.. and he is, sitting all smug in his cave.. so I tried shouting and /tell any high levels in the area.. but no response and Forger disappeared.. :( Next time I'm bringing 2 Alchemist's Water or some help..

Got real bored tonight so I decided to take a walk to Norg and start this quest. Let me tall you something I asked a few LS memebers for a little help, because I didn't know how tough this guy would be. Really no one was on so I soloed this guy with the greatest ease. Killed with-in 45 seconds with my 43 mnk/war. I ended with about 675/913 HP.
This guys a joke and I'm still laughing.

I just soloed this as a SMN41/WHM20. Carbuncle eats Bombs for breakfast.

Summon the little squirrel before you trade the steel, and Carbuncle will automatically engage the Forger once it spawns. Run far away, and resummon Carbuncle whenever he dies.

I started with 775 MP, and when the Forger finally died (it didn't self-destruct), I had about 400 MP left. This is after I consumed a Pineapple Juice at about the halfway point, just to be safe.
