Historical Information

While the Adamantoise itself has no mythological background, as it is originally a Square Enix (at the time known as Squaresoft) creation, initially appearing in Final Fantasy II, the material that it is named for, "Adamant", appears periodically in Norse and Greek mythology. It is said to be a material so strong that it was able to harm gods, as the greek god Cronos used a sickle forged from adamantine to castrate his father Uranus. It is also said that Tartarus, the pit of Hades where the most sinful of souls were sent, was sealed with adamant.

The name Adamantoise is a portmanteau of the words adamant and tortoise.

Wasn't this suppose to be about Adamantoise? If people wanna talk about strats for FFVII then go to a FFVII forum instead of making people read BS whats totally off the subject at hand

Guy that said easy to solo as 75 nin is BS. It will take 2 pts of 70-75 to kill him. You could try as 75 sam but when u do take me some screenshots of the aftermath lol!!!

There are 2 different one this one is the weak one you might be thinking of the bigger one. I think the bigger one might need to pts of 70+ or more. I never even went deep in valley to see it.

Nah, I have to agree with the guy. IF (fat chance) you had no adds, a 75 NIN/WHM or RDM/NIN (more likely) could solo him fairly easy. He is poon and we've taken him down with 4 people including adds in probably about 8-10 minutes or less. You have to kill the perytons, they cannot be slept BTW. Now aspido on the other hand...lol...no. Takes a complete alliance of lvl 70-75 to take him down in 30-45 min maybe a little faster with tons of blm like we did with fafnir in 29 minutes.
level question

#REDACTED, Posted: Nov 04 2004 at 3:55 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I thought that you learned Death Force frome Adamantoise in FF7. All I ever used it for was to counter the cursed ring.
#REDACTED, Posted: Oct 12 2004 at 10:29 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I checked last night when I loaded it up again and found myself on the Knights of the Round Island. It is Big Guard. My BAD!!! /blush
#REDACTED, Posted: Oct 09 2004 at 8:41 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) ff7 was the best game ever made !
#REDACTED, Posted: Oct 09 2004 at 5:26 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I swear that Mighty Guard was FFVIII and Big Guard was from FFVII so damdariram would be correct.

Mighty Guard: barrier/mbarrier/haste for all 3 members. If you were smart, you picked this up on the beach near costa del sol, and then headed back once you had the fire ring, to fight the Zolum to get "Beta". Man, I can play this game with my eyes closed. I even found stuff that wasn't listed in the equipment list in the hint book, like the Curse ring, Rising Sun, the useless added cut materia, and those three orange dot things only found in the crater with the water. They never yeilded any exp, but man, with the trident and clouds apocolypse giving 3x's the normal AP, you could pick up master material like it was nobody's business. If anyone is still reading this, and you're a FFVII junkie, please tell me who you used most in your PT's. For me, I started with Cloud, Tifa and Aeris. Then when she got skewered, I replaced her with Cid.

#REDACTED, Posted: Dec 01 2004 at 7:52 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Yo dude, i'm am of thee most hardcore final fantasy VII (and all the rest) junkies u've ever met. bought, beat, and sold FFVI a total of 17 times. each time i honed my skills more, picked up more materia, got better characters, better strategy. the last 8 times or so i beat the game, the people i used were cloud (for obvious reasons lol), cid (uber final limit break, and has that 3x growth materia spear), and vincent (because vincent just looks so damn cool, and his final limit break is pretty dern sweet). i have beaten both of the weapons and personally i find emerald much easier than ruby only because ruby has that crazy defense and emerald doesn't.

lol Alesandra, they enemy skill that u could learn was Big Guard ^^ (FFVII junkie XD)
#REDACTED, Posted: Oct 04 2004 at 12:41 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) You're right, in FFVII they would always put up a barrier, and if you ever hit them, they would use their light element couter attack. You could steal an Adamantoise Bangle from it with two mater slots (linked), and if you manipulated it, it even had an enemy skill you could learn. For fifty points, anyone know which one it was?[link=null]For fifty points, anyone know which one it was? (I know, and will post it later.) BTW: to prove I do know what I'm talking about, these things were only found on Yuffie's Island on the Western most piece of land, past Midgar, Jeunon City, Cosmo Canyon, and Rocket Town. You could only reach this area after you had aquired Cid, and got shot down in the Tiny Bronco. (Or for the technical PPL, a blue/Black/Gold Chocobo. But if you're like me, then you probably shot up towards to Ancient forest to pick up diamond bangles, the nail bat, the mop, and the Katja materia before you went to chase Yuffie down for stealing your materia. I hate that *****, and her WS's blew. LONG LIVE OMNI-Slash.
