You don't know me, but you don't like me. You say you care less how I feel. But how many of you that sit and judge me Have ever walked the streets of Bakersfield? ~Homer Joy
School do you have it? I think you need it... YOU DO NOT NEED 11 stacks of of coins you only need 10 stacks of 99 then trade 10 more coins. 99x10 is 990 + 10 more is 1000.
Ok i just did this 1 minute ago, i did this with no loss tradeing, this is how. I bought my imp bronzes pieces 5 at a time from npc, only took about 15 minutes. Which is faster then the trip to trade the golds etc. And when i talked to the npc in Al Zahbi (Gajaad at J-6) i frist started by tradeing one imp bronze, then traded 99, followed by 1, then 99 again. Each time it would go 1>100>101>200>201>300>etc and i never lost a single coin, hope this helps.
i just finished doing this quest and it's true the NPC can't count, 1st stack i traded him he said my total was 99, 2nd stack total was 100...i ended up having to trade him 11 stacks to get to 1000, good thing is tho if you trade 1 stack at a time he gives you 9 waters :o
Okay, so we all know the NPC can't count, just trade him the stacks of coins (Bronze) and then talk to him again to get your turban. We all know that you need 1000 Bronze Pieces to get the turban.
What you might not know is, you're wasting your time by getting 20 Gold Pieces. Why?
You obtain 20 Gold Pieces, either by way of the AH, Bazaars or by using your own hard earned IS and getting them from the NPC. Then you go to Nashmau by way of Ship(A 10-20min venture)and trade each Gold Piece to receive 100 Mythril Pieces, each of those Mythril Pieces you then trade to recieve 200 Silver Pieces which eventually you'll trade to get 1000 Bronze Pieces. All the while you will have to stop to resort your inventory. This means you will trade approx 320-340 times just to obtain the correct currency, have to wait for the ship, and then still trade a few more times to recieve your item. Sounds like work.
I for one, am lazy, and many of you may be wondering whatthe point of my little rant is, and here it is:
Talking to the Coin NPC and asking for 5 Bronze Peices each time will save you 20-30 min. You don't have to get on the ship, you don't have to resort, you just have to talk to the NPC 200 times.
Idk the detales but I read some where that when wearing this and eating a sertin food the food stats are boosted. Ill have to tryin find the info and post it. All i remember is it is simular to the opo-opo crown and eating papamas<<spelling is proly wrong.

I used this macro myself last night and it sped things up greatly. The /targetnpc is sort of unnecessary at the beginning of the macro but eliminating it doesn't buy you enough lines to add another /item "Coin Name" <t> to the macro. Took about 10 minutes of trading, sorting, etc in Nashmau... which is, I believe, the longest amount of time that anyone ever spends in Nashmau (fishing bots notwithstanding)

Because for some reason I can't 'reply' anymore, this is addressing the one who said he doesn't know how to count....
When you do initial trades to the NPC, he only lists the amount rounded down to the nearest hundredth (ex: 255 coins becomes 200). If you talk to him again afterwards (the solicitation for another signature), he will list the full correct amount.
I had the same situation happen to me. Had 897 coins donated to him but his initial 'shout' was that I had only donated 800. When I talked to him again to warn him he was getting a kick to the junk, he listed the correct amount.
Fair warning to those who overcompensate when they don't have to. My question is: He starts over from 0 once you obtain the Turban and the 'quest' repeats. Someone mentioned another prize was a Boxer's Mantle. Any confirmation on this?

My first post ^^ well im gonna hit lvl 75 whm soon, so I was checking out this headgear. So I was wondering would this be better for my WHM instead of the hairpin MP+55? I can see the haste % helpfull but would this piece be worth the 25less MP im giving up from the hairpin? Im a Hume also so natural MP is average.
After I traded 5x99 he said I had traded 499 when I traded the 6th stack he said I have traded 500 so I had to buy at the end a 11th stack to get my walahra turban.. ohh well I love it and only payd for the ekstra 99.
I traded 10x99 as said for getting the turban but needed 11x99 to get.
That NPC can't calculate :D
By the way if Chochoroon the apraiser NPC at G-10 in Al Zahbi is captured you must wait till he come back to do the trading.
I waited 2 days before after first trade of 99x2 coins before he was back so I could trade the last ones, I figured 8x99 but ended up as said 9x99+ the 2x99 I traded before.
Hope this make sence.

Ok so a short time ago, I quit XI, or at least I thought I was gunna(I'm weak). Any way in my haste of selling everything, I dropped my Walahara Turban. 1000 more pieces is kinda pricey to test if i can repeat it or not. Just curious if anyone knows if the quest is repeatable. Thanks for any info you got.

Will the haste help with songs? the MP might help but i was think about subing nin cause i have to pull all the time.So what i'm asking is , would it be worth the 20K ISP for the turban? <hmmm> Scale Bismark server xSublimeBlackSheepxLV 75BRD lv 68 BST
Wanted to post the easiest possible walkthrough to getting this turban.
1. Obtain 20 Imperial Gold Pieces. You can either buy them from the auction house (currently 25k on Shiva) or give the currency NPC in Whitegate 1000 Imperial Points for each.
2. Take the boat to Nashmau.
3. Go to an NPC with the name of Awaheen at G-9. He is right above where you get off the boat, on the upper level, on your left side, behind a counter on the wall like the currency NPC in Whitegate.
4. Trade him each of your 20 gold pieces. For each gold piece you will get 5 mythrill pieces, for a total of 100. Then trade him each of your 100 mythrill pieces, and for each, you will get 2 silver pieces, for a total of 200 silver pieces. For each of your 200 silver pieces, you will get 5 bronze pieces, for a total of 1,000 bronze pieces. You should have 10 stacks of 99 plus another stack of 10 when you're done.
Here's the macro
/targetnpc /item "Coin Name" <t>
(change the coin name in the macro each time you begin giving him a new item. this macro works anytime you're trading one item at a time to an NPC)
5. Go back to Al Zahbi. Go to the NPC Gajaad at J-6. He will talk to you about donating bronze pieces for the good of Al Zahbi. Trade him those Mythrill Pieces 99 at a time. Once you have given him all 1,000, he will give you the Walahra Turban. Congratulations!
You will also get a Walahra Water for each stack of 99 you give to Gajaad. This item instantly gives back 50 HP and MP and is exclusive.

I only have one question: I assume when you said "Trade him those Mythrill Pieces 99 at a time." Where you meaning trade him those bronze pieces? I just got a little confused and was gonna do this quest tonight, just want to make sure I don't get the wrong coins. Thanks in advance for your reply.
Warning: If you are trading coins to get the Walahra Turban, and you want to get the most Walahra Water, then only trade in lots of 100, as the NPC will only give out one item at a time.
I traded mostly lots of 100, with a single lot of 200 in the middle to test it. I got 1 Walahra Water for each trade (including the 200 one) except for the last one that got me the Turban.
Thus, once I had traded 1000 for the Turban, I had exactly 8 Walahra Waters. I presume I would have got 9 if I had traded in lots of 100.
I was wondering if this hat actually adds Haste without it being casted? I rarely get hasted & this item seems pointless to me unless it adds haste without it being casted on me. Can anyone verify if it does please.
Just though I'd mention the NPCs name in Nashmau who exchanges Aht Urhgan currency since no one seems to remember it even after 45 minutes of trading. It's Awaheen at (G-9) on the second level (just to the left as you get off the boat).
EDIT: Yes, I just noticed that someone did in fact mention his name further down. Oh well, better to have this information near the top anyway.
Guys can you please tell me which .dat is the turban? I thought it was the same with the Brd JSE one, but it isn't. Please help I cant stand the looks of it, thank you in advance. Haha Lilou soooo cute btw =)
I traded a coin to Gajaad before. But today when I tried to trade more bronze coins he keeps repeating something about Chochoroon being taken by beastmen and wouldn't accept my trade.
Am I not able to trade if npcs get taken by beseige?
I'm getting the same message too...so, yeah I guess if that guy is captured , he won't let you trade him any coins >.< I just got all my bronzes too ; ;
Edit - The prisoner was returned the next day, so traded all the bronze pieces, and now have my turban :D

The coins have to be traded to an NPC in Al Zahbi near where the Astral Candescence sits. I forget his name, but he's a Hume male and he asks if you want to sign a petition. If you say yes, he'll then ask you to donate, and you can trade him your coins. He'll also give you a running total any time you trade, so you know how many more coins you need for your turban.
Of course, if you don't donate, he'll accost you in /say, saying something like:
"Hey, Smurl! Yeah, you, the 75BLM! You're too good to donate to Walahra?!?"
In short, he's kind of a jerk. >_>

first get 20 gold peices. (G-9) of Nashmau is the NPC hes up on top to the left of the ship when you get off of it. it took me about 45 minutes to transfer currency. over all very easy worth it and MAN I CANT WAIT TO WEAR IT. after that trade bronze coins to the Gate Guard. they jip your ass hardcore. so dont trade all stacks at once. trade them by 50 to be safe. it counts each 100. so when you turn in 100 itll read 100. 1 stack = 99 so if you turn in 6 stacks of 99 ur still missing i think 5 coins or so. not sure on the exact number but TAKE YOUR TIME OR YOU WILL LOSE CURRENCY happened to me i just bought 10 bronze peices. 5k each NP there. thanks for ur time.
Best head piece eva! Hard toss up for melees now between this and Optical hat, my thfs still 74 so optical hat for now, but at 75 idk what is better =/
haste+5%(1/3 of whms haste spell) is rediculous for most jobs, very much benefits mages since it lowers /recast timers and adds 30mp(25 mp less then faerie hairpin that sells for like 2m).
I wear this on my brd except for debuffs when AF2 is macro'd in, the recasts don't help -that- much in xp but it's nice to always have lullaby ready for the next pull (burns = multi things to sleep) and for finale /recast if it's resisted.
PS: use the macro /item "Coin name" <t> to trade a HELL of a lot faster if you have to turn 20 gold coins into 1k bronze like I did. =/ worst 20 minutes at an npc, worse then the Moss chick in Selbina.
I'm not sure about everyone, but I'm a HUGE believer in equip macros. For my MNK I plan to use this during TP gain, then swap in O-Hat for Asuran Fists.
For THF I'd probably use this in experience points parties for TP gain, swaping in Empress Pin or another piece that helps SATA damage, but I'll probably stick with O-hat for soloing, for the evasion, accuracy, and ranged accuracy bonuses.
using optical hat for ws's is pretty rediculous. you should macro in some str gear (or w/e stat that that ws is affiliated with) instead. unless you are having acc. problems then i would just use this piece instead of 0-hat during exp to build tp.
Be PREpared for this open the next 2 hours on Xchanging Imp. Gold to Bronze... S.E. is evil! NPC in Nashmau is named Awaheen at the Booth uptop near the port entrance.(G-9).... Goodluck!
According to Farl's Treasures of Aht Urhgan Guide the turban can be obtained by trading 1000 Imperial Bronze pieces, 200 Silver, 100 Mythril or 20 Gold (equalling 20,000 IS points) to Gajaad located in J-5 Al Zahbi.

This is to let eveyone know that the NPC for the Walahra Turban doesn't accept anything else then Bronze Coins.
I thought that I could save some time by getting 20 Gold Coins instead of 1000 Bronze Coins, but once I got all the 20 Gold Coins and spent all my points, I noticed that the NPC wasn't accepting those. ; ;
Now I'm stuck with 20 Gold Coins and no more points to buy the Bronze Coins I need for the turban. But, I was told that some NPC in Nashmau can break down my Gold Coins into smaller change. That is what I wanted to hear since I didn't want to get another 20000 points to buy the Bronze Coins. The Gold Coins seems to give you the less gil/imperial standing points ratio out of all the types of coins.

You were credited for the full amount. The npc oinly told you 200 because he was giving you the walahra water for 200. Talk to him and it will give you your actual amount.
i just got this, and while trading the peices, i got an assload of Walahra Water...does anyone know what the water does? i dont wanna waste it if its good >_>

#4. And the most important of all... DO NOT take stupid people. The worst part about stupid people is that they are too stupid to realize how stupid they are.
Hmmmm... Whats a new job that came out that can utilize all of these traits.. HMMMMM... Heh, this looks like it was made for Blu but obvioulsy it works quite well for all classes, especially mages or drks

This item is obtained by giving the equivalent of 20 Imperial Gold coins(or, 1000 Imperial Bronze) to the NPC Gajaad in the northern part of Al Zahbi. Excellent headgear for melees and mages alike; I highly recommend it.
