I am an unequivocal crit whore, as well as a parse whore. Anything that will up my critical hit rate, I am interested in. As such, this has caught my eye. It's been cast away for years as crap, but I underbid and got one for 20k, woo. Junk, I figured, +1, +2% increase at most! Still, I gave it a go, and just got done with a party while swapping between this, and a Hauberk. The critical hit numbers are below;
Round 1;
Jawshan: 19.75
Hauberk: 14.29
Difference; +5.46
Interesting! When I joined the party, I announced I'd be doing some parsing between the two of them, and our Red Mage mentioned he'd heard it was a +5% increase. I thought that was too good to be true, but it didn't seem so! Now, the above numbers were just prelimenary, 20~21 fights each. After the initial testing, I decided to go for the long haul. Below are the results for 60~ fights a piece;
Round 2;
Jawshan: 25.15
Hauberk: 18.75
Diffference: +6.4
That's pretty substantial. As it is now, I'm going to call that a +5% increase, looks like six, but I'm not ready to say six. Going to do some more parsing, and will probably update this post later.

Bought mine for 95k on Bismarck, there's no way I'd ever be able to afford a Byrnie let alone a Haubergeon. Hauby's currently on Bismarck about 1.8 Million so... I can't wait for my Sipahi Jawshan!

And I'm looking at this piece, and no where on it does it say Latent Effect increases Critical Hits. I don't believe you need a Corsair to activate the Critical Hit rate. Now, yes, Corsairs can boost your actual rate with their Roll, but I don't think you have to have a Corsair to get this to activate. Seems kinda dumb.

I bought this strictly for my Rampage and Mistral Axe along with a lot of other STR gear. I wore it while farming to see if I noticed an increase in Critical rate, but I didn't. Hell, I think I got less.
Maybe it was because I was paying more attention than usual to crits, but I barely got any at all, where I usually belt out one every couple quick fights while farming (I'm not exactly set-up for crits lol). Oh well, maybe the increase is less obvious but still there.

This thing started at around 1 mil on bahamut and i bought mine a few days ago for 150k, even tho i'm a paladin its so cheap and i put it to good use in PvP n such^^ nice little thing to have, it adds a cheap alternative to dishing out 5 mil for a Haubergeon but also dosen't suck.

full set gives close to 20+ str and agi. it is awesome. all im missing is the hand gear and you can skip the feet as they dont add much. keep your war feet with double attack mod. great gear. TY SE. they finaly did something right.

im 75 war it ups my weapon skills but iv yet to try with a corsir since its still rar to find them at level 75

Got one of these off the AH the other day. Currently about 450k on Titan. Looks sexy, and if it had accuracy stats I'd almost use it over Hauberk for my 75 DRK.
I'll have a picture of what it looks like in a bit. It looks pretty damn good, especially with a Wyvern Helm^^
