so you can be relatively low craft-level to use/craft (with) it, but have to have a high-enough level job to get IS to buy them?

oy, that's just so typical of S-E.

how many times have we come across low level synths that requre one single item that can only be synthed by a level 80+ crafter?

So I guess it's time to get gouged at the Auction House again :-(
