Bastokan Centurions are known for their ferociousness and it's all because of this sword issued to all adventurers who have become centurions. It is deadly as it is accurate.
If Final Fantasy XI was an offline game with the same storyline (up until Chains of Promathia), it would've been one of the greatest RPGs ever made.

This sword costs 80k from ah on the unicorn server. I just dont have that kind of money yet, and plaus i need to buy new gear cos im a lvl 30 rdm n still have all the beetle gear. Anyone on the unicorn server who can sell me this sword for less than ah or perhaps know way of gettin easy money really quick, and lots of it?

I find this a good choice for a WAR/NIN during Prommies.
This sword for Offhand stat boost (Acc+Atk) and Tigerhunter (or Military Pick if you have gil for it). The added Accuracy should make up the less DOT Dmg you would get if you had Dual Axes. Would have to parse to be sure. Even though, you still have an Axe for the higher damage WS.

For some reason I wasn't able to buy this with the 8000CP as listed here at Allakhazam and Somepage. The conquest standings were
Sandoria 1st
Bastok 2nd
Windurst 3rd
I'm San d'Orian so I thought I could grab a pair, but they didn't turn up under the Rank 3 listing with the Axe and the rest of the stuff. I tried in Sandoria's embassy twice, flew to Bastok, Jeuno, no luck.

You'd have to wait until Bastok was in 3rd place, thus meaning this sword would be unavailable, so yes, you would have to be Bastokian to get this weapon.

I bought 2 of these for my 30rdm/nin about 2 months ago, the price was 60k each! I thought that was bad, but imagine my surprise when i check the AH recently and due to major inflation the price had risen to 200k for a single sword!
I was made up, if i was to sell them at this price i'de gain a profeit of 280k!
Just to let you know, it is still the price at Jeuno AH on the Fenrir server. If you want to save money then contact me and if ive had my use for them then i may sell one for a good price.
Good luck to all who want this sword! Its THE BEST sword at lvl30 and it can last you a few lvls.... money well spent.

Just to let people know, this is currently selling for about 55k on Kujata in Jeuno. Decided that it was time to sell it, make 20k profit, and upgrade to Hunter's Sword.

I'm using this sword right now an i'm lvl 35 200tnl from 36 RDM/BLM and i do like the damage but i need to know what would be good for me to get next. ._. I love mah Centurion but i'm needing to find out what sword will be good to start saving up for and i'm really clueless. XD

I used this sword with my rdm until 45 when i switched to a crimson sword. By that time you won't be meleeing in exp parties: the 10mp and 5+ int of crimson sword will come in handy.

I'm running as rdm/nin and this seems like the best sword I'll be able to use from lvl 30 for quite some time, and since I can use 2 of them the added accuracy and attack is just too good to pass up b^_^d

just buy it at ah. you can use those cq points for stuff that can save your but, especially if you are a melee based character. use cq points for warp scrolls and reraise scrolls. makes the job quests so much easier. you can get gil easy by fire crystal hunting at lower levels. just switch to your lower lev jobs and kill away. i got over 200k doin this and it's not as time consuming as you would think.
good sword just bought it for 30k for my level 30 warrior..i sold my other sword for 30k(flame sword) to..so its all gravy

Great Axe all the way!!... to lvl 48 that is. Then dual wield Viking Axes =)
Great Axe or Axe will own all over sword any day. (a couple exceptions, like Ridill or Joyeus, but this isn't one of them)

lol ok i dont like bothering with all the running around and stuff so i just get it at ah 28k...>< but if you really think about if you go to ranpere's tomb the martial slacks from the crypt ghost go for 25-36k at times(on my server at least) all you need is a decent lvd thf if you above lv 30 you can safely walk around with no prob or any other 25k+ drop from a nm btw.. Sand'oria Rules!!!!
I am a rdm and i must tell you that this sword is amazing until you get your AF weapon. I have used it from lvl 30-36 and its amazing. I can do 17-20 damage regulary on a crawler in Crawlers nest. Thats pretty good for a RDM hume.

Yes you can buy a Bastokan Ring. You just need to be the same rank as you would normally have to be in Bastok, and your nation has to be ranked higher than Bastok that week. Then, you could just go to Bastok's consulate in San d'Oria, and the Iron Musketeer guard inside will let you spend your conquest points on anything they've got available, but you'll have to pay more than a citizen of Bastok would.

I'm afraid not, actually. The Bastokan Ring is only available if Bastok is ranked first (heh, fairly rare on my server to begin with) and your country has to be above the country you're buying from in order to use your CPs with them. However, changing alliegance to Bastok isn't too terribly hard. xD

Bastok's almost always in the last on my server, so at least the switch would be a cheap one, monetarily speaking.

2 weeks ago, some freak accident happened, and we moved up to 2nd. I immediately stocked up on Centurion's Swords. A week later, Bastok moved up to 1st! That's the 2nd time in my 4 months of playing that Bastok has been first!
Now Bastok is back in last, so the price of these swords is inflating. I'll sell mine once the price gets closer to 20k (before Bastok moved up to 2nd, they were priced at 25k).

Some freak accident (San d'Oria and Windurst flopped) made Bastok first this week on Sylph. Going to go out with my Beastmaster and get mad conquest points to get some of these and sell for...22K in Jeuno. I love my financial planning skills

I'm on Siren server, Windrust always makes it in second place v_v. I have been going out try and get as many conquest points, but it seems that no one else moves their @$$ in Windrust, they all sit around all day, so we might get dragged down to third place. I haven't used any of my conquest points, saving up for some goodies ^_^.

This item costs 4000 CPs, and only becomes available if Bastok is rank 2 or higher (I confirmed this today when I bought it for my soon-to-be RDM/NIN).
(and to those who think the lasty tally matters, it does not, Bastok was dead last on the last tally as of about 3AM EST that night)

FYI: each town has embassys, in the embassys u can buy other towns CP gear, only at 2x the points, so lvl 30 rank 3 gear is 8000 instead of 4000

How do you go about doing this? If I talk to the guard in Bastok's consulate (Bastok is in 1st place on Ifrit as of today) he says, "I'm sorry, I can't do anything for you unless you are from Bastok. Talk to your own guards for assistance." Who gives the option to buy another country's CP gear?

You can buy CP gear only from kingdoms that are ranked below your's in conquest.
Side note: However, there will always be a couple of items from other nations that can't ever be aquired by these means, because certain items only appear when a nation is in first place. For instance, a Sandorian will never be able to use CP to buy a Mercenary Captain's Belt from Windurstian CP gear line-up, because that belt only appears when Windurst is ranked in 1st place.
This info was obtained from simple observations after each conquest tally, so I might have missed something. If you know of any other intricacies of this system, please update.

I think that certain items only become availiable, depending on which place your country came in in the last tally.
For instance. When I first started playing, my country, Bastok, had a lot of stuff for reward, but was in 2nd place.
Now that we've been coming in 3rd place on a consistant basis, a lot of the cooler sh*t hasn't been there.
I came to this conclusion lookin at the "Bastokan" and "Republic" gear I haven't seen anywhere for sale, other than the AH. (At ridiculous prices.)
Maybe if hell freezes over, and Bastok somehow manages to place first, we'll be able to get some really good eats via conquest points.
Then again, I could be totally wrong, so take it with a grain of salt. :)

The Bastokan and Republic gear are crafted versions of Conquest armor. This site has the recipe, but there is some confusion as to whether or not the skill level is accurate.

Xexys, Your theory is correct from all my observations and have been told that what is offered for conquest points will change depending on that place your kingdom is in by experienced players.

I can confirm it now. This morning, hell did indeed freeze over, and Bastok placed first in the tally on Diabolos.

what? bast on our server is always No.1 for the pass 2 month, san is always 3rd and yet no wonder those npc in san always tell us to get out
Man, wish this was the way on Ifrit. I believe Bastok has been in 3rd for the past 2 months.

I only sw this weapon once at i saw it at the bastok embassey in sandoria. bastokians should try there.

Not sure where it can be found but once your level 30 and Rank 3 you can buy it with Conquest points 4000 of em.
To add onto VeggieX's post, This is a Bastok Conquest Reward, along with the other Centurion gear.
San D gets Royal Footman gear and Windurst gets Mercenary Captain gear if my memory serves me correctls.

Yup you are correct except rank 3 for sandoira is royal squire and we get a pos pole arm......
