some one please help me what activates the latent for this?
The Latent effects for these Avatar weapons are activated if the corespondiong Avatar is present in the pt.

Well the Carbuncle's Pole from the same BC is activated by a SMN in your party having carby out, so I would assume this one is someone having titan out... but could be the day...
The latent effects on the Avatar gear is the day. So to unlock this latent it must be earth day.

The trial by **** quests are ages old. . .this dagger isnt. . .
The Trial by Earth quest will give u Titan's Cudgel (lvl65 club) as weapon.
Doesn't it strike anyone odd why the quest for titan should suddenly give a lvl72 weapon when Garuda's dagger, shiva's claw etc are lvl65 ? when the Trial by *** quests are from a time when only some monster could be lvl75 ? That those quests can easily be solo'd by a RDM/NIN, MNK/NIN, NIN/??? etc. ? the weapon lvl (72) is a bunch higher then the mob u have to fight for it ?
The lvl72 avatar weapons (this dagger, ifrits bow, carby stick etc) are from the new(er) quest "Waking the beast".

I might've gotten confused between Trial by Earth and "Waking the Beast", now that I looked a little into this, where as Waking the Best doesn't seem to be in this DB.
I'll get around to fixin this on the next update I do.

not a hammer, a cudgel. basically...titan is a big dumb neanderthal that has a big heavy CLUB to bludgeon you to death with ^^

Uhh...Why a Baselard? It's TITAN...They shoulda made Titan's Cesti or Titan's Knuckles...See how much cooler that sounds? And for sh!ts and giggles, give them the same attack speed as the main man himself. Heh, personally, I think that'd be kinda cool. :B
Plus, Garuda already has a Dagger...Why not give MNKs the second coolness by adding this with Shiva's Claws. Anyone agree?

My question is why the HELL can't Summoner use 90% the damn weapons that their OWN avatars drop!? (from either the "Waking the Beast" alliance type battles or "Trial by ____" single pt style). It SEEMS like an obvious way for Summoners to actually get a chance to use something besides a staff.. (or club / dagger but no one ACTUALLY uses those unless it's Kraken club, and even then o.O)
No fair -.- I wanted to use Ifrit's blade with my SMN soooooo badly ever since I heard about it. But no, SE refuses to let SMNs have fun yet again... back to my useless Rune Blade I suppose.

SMNs get the Avatars. The weapons are rewards for the other people who help with the fight but don't necessarily want the Avatar as a summons. If the Avatar was the only reward then all you would have is a party of SMNs fighting them or a SMN and their friends. Unfortunately most people don't help others for free. They want some kind of a reward for helping.
