Black chocobo?

In final fantasy 7, you get a black chocobo from mating a blue chocobo with a green chocobo <.< You get the gold from mating a Black with a Wonderful, I suppose that doesn't apply to ffxi since theres red also, but I wouldn't doubt you could get black from a green and blue.

I had a male yellow chocobo and I mated it with my friend's black female chocobo and got this egg in hopes of getting a black chocobo (I did the Jeuno tour plan for the honeymoon, increases chances of the child inheriting female traits) and I got this egg with this description.

But then, that same night I did ISNM60 Tough Nut to Crack and got ANOTHER egg just like this with the same description. So I didn't know which egg was which >.> So I just traded one of them. Now I am on day 19 and the chocobo is red! I think I gave the trainer the egg from the ISNM probably but I will raise the other egg once I'm done with the red one to see if it turns out black.

I did the quest from Brutus to get one of these. Some speculated that the quested version of this egg might result in a better chocobo or colored. So far I have not seen anything to warrant this specualtion to be true. It appears my adolesent chocobo with yellow feathers and white tips will turn out to be a simple, yellow bird.

You can actually buy 3 different eggs from a small hume girl npc merchant in jeuno in the garden next to the AH. That was my first one. Again....pretty mundane....got a yellow male.

Color is random and you get better odds by using some items, from what I have read. Supposedly a parasite worm can give your bird some color. I haven't gotten any confirmation on that. So, we could all be back at square one.

Simply put, if you want a good bird with some color to it, you best bet is to find someone who is selling eggs from a guaranteed winner. Just use the new feature of going to the little choco camp and see one for yourself.

I got a LS member selling black chocco eggs off his bazaar for 15k ea. And his bird has "a bit deficient" stats on pfysical atributes. If you want better stats, the price will but a bit more I assure you.

But hell...isnt that alot better than just taking a gamble?

one way to get a chocobo is to go to upper jueno and talk to brutus and he'll give u a quest takes like 30mins. then another wat in go to rulude garden and by the ah go down the stairs talk 2 mithra and buy a egg at the bottom of the list and pick an egg. they way i got mine is i got a male and female black chocobo card and mated them i talked to the little kid next to brutus hes on his right closest to the ah buy a plan and trade the cards. u will get an egg a day later. the go to the chocobo stables of your nation. then there u go u have begun the process this works better because i have a black chocobo now.

I need to know if there is way to volitarily get a black chocobo. Like do i have to get my Egg on a certain day, kare for it a certain way. I have put off getting a chocobo for this reason. I would like to be able to decide, or even have a good chance to choose what my Chocobo will look like or whether it is male or female.
