Don't care about the buffs. But seriously stop using Tarutaru's for fashion shots.
I like tarutaru's most of my mules are. We can barely make out what they are using.

I uploaded a photo of my Mithra with Seveneyes. However, Pikko is a Tarutaruist, and always defaults to them when choosing which fashion shot to put up. /cry

It's such ********* I've submitted tons of crap to allakhazam, often immediately after updates. Then they go ignored for about 9~10 months, and someone else's image/fashion shot gets posted.

That rant aside, this club is a piece of ****. It's useful for warping people in a party, but besides that I can't imagine this being too useful in ANY situation for ANY job. Everyone posting saying it looks awesome are (more likely than not) among the following categories:

1) Square-Enix fanboys: Of course anything they make-- even in FFXI-- must be awesome.

2) ExpansionWhores: Of course the newer something is, the more interesting it is. Who cares if there's eighteen other parties in Caedarva? Who has time to worry about forty people in Bibiki when you can get awesome 2k/hr xp, amirite?

3) Idiots: Do I really have to say more?

In closing: as abrasive as this post was, anyone that's going to get pissed at this is going to get pissed not because I'm abrasive, but because they're too busy reacting to what they like to call "ignorance" rather than actually acknowledging valid arguments.
Nice staff but!

You are not only rude, but apparently too stupid to scroll down and read as well. If you are going to be wrong, at least do it minus the attitude. Wrong and annoying make for a bad combination.

For RDM, this and a shield with MP or HP>MP on it would make for nicer Converts.

Now, moving beyond this schmuck I have some useful information to share.

Here's some helpful advice for anyone who wants a Seveneyes but doesn't have one yet (most likely this means RDM's). There is a club from WotG which is a very reasonable substitution, AH buy-able, and on my server is very cheap (~30k). That club is called Fourth Mace.

Now that we can carry up to 70 items, it is easier to macro in pieces for even the smallest of boosts to our various tasks. Saving a miniscule amount of MP over time is better than saving none, so if you have the space and gil then I definitely recommend this paired with either Astral Aspis or Numinous Shield +1 for buffing and converting.

Seveneyes is currently the best main or sub item for Convert. +27hp and +27mp is simply amazing because it boosts both HP and MP, which are both needed for a high Convert ratio. It also has +7 Conserve MP, which makes it nice for casting buffs, especially if you're talking about a RDM casting Refresh and Haste for several hours ^^ Slap on your /BLM subjob for Conserve MP, equip Magnetic Earring and you have about 37% chance for Conserve MP to kick in...

this is by far one of the best things offhand for a blu/nin that i can think of
lame

it's the new kirin's pole: only real use is to show off that you beat a cool hnm.
really this thing is useless, at least mnks use k pole for chi blast... the rdm/whm party buff argument is just lame... i dont see anyone putting this in their wishlist.

As someone who's used +MP Conserve gear in the past, unless they've updated the rate at which it actually does work, the rate is quite disappointing. The elemental boost is great for resists though, so I think it's worthy of BLMs, RDMs, and BLUs. At least for someone that doesn't feel like hauling around 8 staves I guess.

However, being totally honest, I don't see it being used for anything other than soloing or just out goofing around. And if it was actually useful, it would immediately go to WHMs and RDMs if there were any pecking order since they would benefit most from the conserve MP bonus at HNMs for non-healing spells as has been mentioned.

Elemental staves til the game dies...

this looks sweet for chainspell i wonder if the saved mp(resulting in xtra nukes) would end up causing more damage than the modifiers from the hq staves
Good for at least one job besides the obvious

Most people see this club and think "BLM". I understand that it certainly has it's advantages for BLM but I think that it would be a wonderful off-hand weapon for BLU/NINs. It has VERY good damage per second compared to the other clubs for BLU (mighty cudgel, etc.) and the "Conserve MP"+7 would be an amazing help. Also, off-handing this club would not affect our spells in any way, assuming the main-hand weapon remains a sword.

In the end, a BLU/NIN off-handing this would end up with slightly lower damage per second from melee hits but would save more than enough mp to make up for it with spell damage.

I hope to test this one day.^^

The weird thing about this wand is that the Elemental Skill +7 is basically pointless in a world where elemental staves exist.

(Edit: For those who don't know, using a NQ staff of the element that matches your nuke gives you unmatchable bonuses to Magic Accuracy and Damage. The HQ staves push it but even further. For more information, check, the Black Mage's Guide and scroll down to section 6.)

The Conserve MP+7 sounds useful for RDM and WHM for macroing in when casting party buffs. For curing, Light Staff/Asklepios/Templar Mace > this, so basically what this wand would end up being is a piece to hopefully make refresh/haste cycles a little bit cheaper.

For RDM, this and a shield with MP or HP>MP on it would make for nicer Converts.

I wouldn't mind finding out if losing the extra inventory and adding this to my macros would be worth it (as a RDM), but I suspect I'm not going to get the chance to find out anytime soon. ><

What a strange item. (The elemental skill bonus is so misleading, appearing to be good when it is actually the least useful part of the wand.)

I don't know about that. For BLM, maybe kinda useless, but I think that for WHM/NIN this could have a great benefit when used for soloing NMs or for farming, cuz unlike staves, we can have all these benefits, plus Hexa^^

Hmmm, I have to disagree with you here dude.

I think this item looks to be a lot better than you say. The Elemental Magic Skill+ is a great bonus to a great looking item. It's 3 less than the Ice Staff, so what? Is that really so bad?

Look what you get in return. More HP and MP. A wider variety of elemental defence bonuses. And a great increase in the effect of conserve MP...an ability your sure to have if you have any need for Elemental Magic Skill+ anyways.

At the very least, this is a great item to switch in as a replacement for your Ice Staff in some situations, which is gonna give you an extra hand to hold something to make the item better yet.

Think about it. :)

First, the MP and HP, as well as the resistances given by this club are basically negligible. Second, it's always going to be better to use the corresponding elemental staff for offensive spells than to use this (using the corresponding staff is much better than just using ice for all nukes also), especially for ice because of the elemental magic on it, but really for the others too, and no shield is anywhere near good enough to make up the difference.

Conserve MP is nice, but it's not something you can throw on quickly and suddenly have a lot more mp to use, it doesn't work that way, it's too random. You could put this on and cast, and if the conserve mp happens to not proc you just gave up 15% magic accuracy and power for nothing. Conserve MP is best when used over a long period of time, in THAT case it averages out to be useful. But not even close to as useful as elemental staves.

Just like the original poster said, the only real use for this I can see would be to macro in on defensive non-cure spells for the conserve MP. Not useless, but definitely not a necessity by any means.

this would be really nice for smn! that is if smn macroed their BPs.. juts equip this, do BP, bam +7 conserved (over time) then swich back to ele stave... yea you might lose 2 or 3 MP's for a tick or 2, but cmon when your casting 200 MP BP's that is negligable

Very VERY nice for black mage and red mage, or any job that subs either one. There's just the tiny little problem of killing Khimaira to get it. Seing as he's part of the new areas, i'd say he's about the level of Jormy or maybe Kirin, so he shouldnt be too hard to take down. Never seen him fought though, so i can't comment on any of his attacks.
