I was running inbetween gallent and punisher for a couple days and then I got a message "emergency server maintenance in 30mins" I thought about just logging right then but decided to see if punisher would spawn before maintenance. 3 min till server maintenance I had just about given up hope and then i see him!!! I attack use my 2hr and hit him with 3 tachi:goten's he drops and there they are 1/17, with only 1 min till maintenace i logged out and now i'm waiting for maintenance to finish so i can hopefully get gallent^^

So, I had been farming for days.
And boy, was I bored.
I've been prepping to take my DRG to 75 (first job!) and knew that SAM would make a sweet /sub.
However, I didn't wanna lvl SAM until I had the dreaded O.Kote.

Now, there was no way I was gonna go blow 600k on the store bought versions of these babies, not knowing if, or when I would ever take SAM (or MNK or NIN for that matter) past 37.

SO, I finally mustered up the courage, and ran my @$$ out to Castle Oztroja with my DRG50/THF23 to see if I could make a little magic happen.

When I got there, 3 people where in the process of killing this 'ol boy, and within a minute, I hear "Knucks AGAIN! This is a JOKE!!" and two of the peeps exited, stage right.

That left myself, an AFK PLD75, a MNK 55 (who ended up being pretty cool) and a THF 75.

I thought to myself "this ain't happening tonight" but I had a feeling...

So after awhile, the MNK leaves to go check the other NM, and I'm sitting around, killing crabs and the occasional PH, and lo and behold, our old friend Mee Deggi decides topay me a visit. My heart starts pumping like it was prom night, and I run over to him, sure I'm about to get outclaimed...

As a 50 DRG, this fight was not too hard. When he busted out the 'ol 100 Fists, I Super Jumped to erase hate, and when I came back down, he began hitting my wyvern, giving me time to get in an extra Sneak Attack.

Finally, the moment of truth...
he dies...
and there they are!
IMPACT KNUCKLES!!!

DOH!

So I says to myself "Self, lets try for one more"
I leave to go watch some tv.
Watched an episode of True Blood.
Came back, room now has like 5 peole in it.
So I say screw it, I'mma kill crabs fo rthe land crab meat.
I start killing my first crab, and up walks Mee Deggi again, looking like he wants it bad.
So I panic, and try to switch targets, which for some reason (prolly cuz I'm all panicked) doesn't work.
I figure I've lost him forever at this point, so I finish killing my crab....

....to discover that EVERY person in the room is AFK.

I claim him again in the time honored tradition of the mighty DRG (jump)
I beat his Yaguado behind to a pulp.
I cover my eyes,
and when I look up...

"You have Defeated Mee Deggi the Punisher."
"Mee Deggi the Punisher drops a ochimusha kote"
"Nothing obtains an ocimusha kote"

IRL, I screamed,
and in-game i /sh'd
then I danced.
oh, I danced.

If it matters to anyone, it was Iceday, moon was at 93% waxing.
Everyone has there superstitions, I myself carry around a 4 Leaf Mandy Bud and a Wild Rabbit Tail. You can call it superstition all you want, but I'm 1/2 on Mee Deggi, and 1/3 on VE, so I guess for me, my superstition worked out XD

Ran into ostroja thinking i'd be here for countless hours, ran around the island for a while and popped, killed, got drop in one try :D

I hate you guys with 1/10, 1/2 or 1/12.... :-/

In the last three days i killed Punisher 29 times and Gallant 26 times.
Still no drops. At least i think i will get the money for both for my knuckles and swords. ^^

Well, school is about to start for me (my last 6 months of undergraduate education!), and I decided to camp these mofos before I would be bogged down with school and work.

Got claim 3 times this past saturday--always got the dreaded "you find a pair of Impact Knuckles," followed by "Vitoru obtains a pair of Impact Knuckles."

Got claim 3 times again the next day. On the last claim, I expected my sixth pair of Impact Knuckles from the weekend, but instead, I saw the glorious message, "you find a pair of Ochimusha Kote," followed by "Vitoru obtains a pair of Ochimusha Kote!!!!!!!!"

In total I went about 1/9 on this sucker. My best advice would be NOT TO GIVE UP. Keep camping him and eventually you will get these badass gloves! Widescan definitely help me out a LOT this time around, I highly recommend using the <scan> macro in order to claim Mee Deggi if you are going to track him using Widescan.

Also, I know there is considerable debate about whether or not the placeholder method as described on ffxiclopedia is accurate. From camping him, I can say that following the PH definitely worked for me. It may not be 100% accurate but I feel it is a good rule of thumb to follow when camping this guy. However, I do have a feeling that after killing the PH, if his window is open, there is a chance that Mee Deggi will spawn less than 12 minutes afater killing the last PH.

FINALLY! 1/23 on these.... at least I made a lot of gil from the Impact Knuckles lol. Good luck fellow campers.

You know Square can be a real bitch when deciding things like "the drop rate of notorious monsters". People stroll on in and get 1/1 while the rest of us sit around for days on end with 0/23 on our heads.

Decided to take SAM to 75 today (currently 39) so I said I want Okote. Walked to Castle O and got to area and THF camping it, so instead of contesting went to the Galliant's area. Hour later pops, kill, nothing... go checked on the Punisher THF still there but not moving, killed all the Interrigators and popped right in front of me. Penta Thrust... dead... Denz obtains a pair of Ochimusha kote ^^ /dance4, 1/35. Story continues, off to Davoi, Poisonhand no one there as expected Gi only 100k but still, couple rounds of killing orc and there he is, Penta Thrust dead 1/1 =O. Still continues, back to Caslte O, the Galliant again, hour or so of killing Yag and there he is Penta thrust dead Sarutobi Kyahan 1/10. Just wanted to share my day of NM drops ^^ hope people have as much luck as I did.

I'm atleast 60+ and not one drop for me >.>

Going 0/33 working on 34... whats the longest anyone's gone before a drop on this?

Also had a 75 thf with TH3 for the last 10 kills just to be safe, worthless so far.

I started camping these yesterday

I managed to claim once yesterday, and once today - and they dropped :)

Yea i got lucky....1/5 on Mee Deggi and 1/4 (technically 2) on Quu Domi....i got them within an hour of each other.....though i feel redeemed after my screw up the night before...my buddy Tahu camped Quu while i camped Mee....he got Quu and it dropped...but my dumb ass celebrated...and my auto run zoned me into the Altar Room....so i guess all in all it worked....good luck to you...i have friends 0/100+.

So I decided to pick up a 2nd job and leave DRK at 70. I chose MNK since its sexy. So I decided to grab the R/E versions of O-kote and kyahn. O-kote was always heavily camped so I went to Quu Domi. Took me 17 claims before I finally achieved my kyahn. During 7th-8th kill, said f*** it, gonna check out Mee Deggi, got at least 1 hr. Went to Mee Deggi, killed all the yagudo, and he popped. Was 70DRK/35WAR, DrainII, LR/Zerk/SE/ABS-STR dropped this mofo and got the drop!! 1/1!!! Helped a LS member get claim and drop as well waiting on the boots. All in all fun times but it can be extremely frustrating at certain times. Pretty nice to have free gear though ^^

It was just me and one afk nin/??? today and I was hunting deggi while waiting for an invite, killing and looping around the middle platform. About an hour or so in he uses mijin gakure and it's just me alone for a while, no idea what the PHs are for certain so I'm just killing everything and healing up when needed. 30min. later he shows up as thf and I'm flashing back to those "kill all PH for 2hr spawn, Mr. X comes in takes NM and gets drop" moments. He starts killing too and Mee Deggi pops just below the platform after another 10min.

I ran down there smashing provoke/chi blast macro and got him, 2hr'd just because I didn't know how I'd stack up against him (49mnk/24war and he's doing 8dmg/punch to me) plus I wanted the timer there, but anyway I took a scrn cap and he falls with little resistance. I swear I had full inventory so I didn't see the little treasure box show up over my name and I'm thinking "oh well as per usual more ancient papyrus ><" but then "You obtain a pair of Ochimusha Kote." scrolls up. ALL RIGHT! Immediately switch 'em on and /hurray /cheer /joy /etc.

As far as zone level for people wondering if they'll do alright, at 49mnk I could comfortably kill any yag in that area and a link or two. Also if you don't know the area it's the passage at the top of your map when you enter; pleasant surprise because I thought it'd be deep in the castle. But without help you'd get flayed and slaughtered if you tried for these at 34.

Not only do these kote look awesome (red) it seems like you have berserk active on occasion because of the +atk. I say on occasion because sometimes I didn't notice a solid difference between gigas bracelets (previous hands) and these... like they'd activate the +20 attack SOMETIMES but not always. More testing/parsing necessary, anyway I'm glad I don't have to go back into that pit for a long time to come. :D 1/1 good luck everyone!

If I'm the only person in an area killing the place holders as a 50MNK and I am obviously not a Gil Seller common curtousy would be let me have the NM that I have been hunting for 4hrs but Mugnumy some 75 @#%^ comes in for 10mins and grabs the damn thing Thankyou. Thankyou for being a piece of sh*t.

my bad, didnt know the update made these r/e so i was camping the o.kote for money wearing my B.kote... no wonder everyone was looking at me strange... ohwell i was killing time anyways and now have kote for lvl cap missions.

*sigh* 0/4 on theese been campin them for hours SE shoulda increased the drop rate too...

In all honesty if your camping it right now its very flooded but at least you know you got beat by a real player not a RMT. Yea it sucks if you really want them, but its not as bad as being beat by a botting RMT. The Real player will actually use them.
