reading through your guys post here, complaining about they are 3,4,5k a stack LOL ROFL! I'm on fairy, i couldnt buy a stack for 20k when there were 102 stack in the AH i had to pay 30k

Alright, I'm going to say this. Your signature is promoting an offer site that gets their gil from IGE. IGE is one of the most known gil selling websites around.

not so sure this works.. followed it without missing a beat and got leaves 9 of 10 pots. I waited til watersday to harvest the last 2 plants of 10 and got leaves, and finally, fire crystals on last pot. FULL MOON 90% watersday so maybe firesday not being FM was the issue.. I'll try once more but harvesting on water had always got me plenty of fire ; ;

and yes they r rare in valkrum dunes but hey when they do pop as thf i can ge upto 5 clusters on 2 elementals which is awesome cause im a crafter.

well either way the demand for these crystals will get higher and so will the price. so stock up while u can. with the increasing players. ppl are just going to make more money. i do bonecraft so i never use fire crystals.

On Lakshmi atm the price of Fire Crystal stacks in Sandy, Windy and Bastok is currently at an all time high of 6.5-7k and in jeuno..::sigh::.. its getting close to 7.5-9k.
For those who grow these then congrats cos at least it means you dont have to be buying them.
As a way to defeat the AH prices my LS has organised 'insider trading' in things that are getting ridculously expensive like crystals and foods.
We currently hav over 52 members, and since everyone has at least one crafting skill (including gardening) that they have lvled to a decent lvl, we all help each other out with the things we need.
This has become a very effective way of dealing with ridculous pricing, and there is always a demand for certain things such as juices and crystals, so we all benefit.
I would recommend to anyone to take up this line of 'trading' in your LS's as I know it works and can be very sucessful.

Im not a very steady crafter but i do craft lol i love the price nice and high im makeing money hand over fist because my bro grows them and gives me like 20 stacks a week i love being rich and i camp for lizzy all the time so im rich that way too

Fire weather is extremly rare in Valkurm. In fact it's extremly rare everywhere. Which is why there are never clusters on the AH. Midgardsormr has seen fire crystals hit 7k a stack most days and 10k a stack when supplies are low. It's getting extraordinarily ridiculous that we have to pay such insane prices for a necessary object.
If Squeenix just made Fire Clusters way less rare, there would be an extreme drop in inflation game wide.

Crystals and Clusters are not restricted to exp and elementals, and the stock in AH is based on the crafter:exp'er ratio if everyone is crafting the crystals run out if everyone is leveling the crystals drop in cost.
When I was starting crafts and poor looking for ways to advance I would change jobs to low level and farm away on crows or gobs for fire and yagudos for wind.
One option that seems to be ignored is the fact that you can /Dig up crystals (on solo elemental weather effect) and clusters(dual weather elemental) while riding on chocobos. The Altepa Deserts are the place to /dig up these gems when the weather is out. I find a lot of "rare" items that are dug up to be rare even when there is mobs that drop them since no one will go out and dig, an example is King Truffles (120k stack on fenrir) farmed of mushroom type mob in CN, can also be dug up in the right areas, yet these items are rare if not uncommon. Chicken Bones, Logs, Acorns, Ores, Rocks, Bones, Coins and feathers can all be dug up in various zones, If these items are hard to find perhaps you could grabs some greens and /dig up some treasures.
SE has provided alternate means to get some items but if no one uses them it is not the programmers fault, some people try to educate themselves on items they farm up, and for that they should profit. Some items would simply not be available unless someone went out and did the work (Chicken Bones can only be mined or /dig'ged up in certain areas, and are not know to drop off any mob) then you too can profit from your efforts.
You could also farm your own crystals/cluster instead of buying them and if you do buy them shop around, sandy is usually the cheapest and bastok is usually most expensive, and if the cost does not adjust itself go farm the crystals for gil while you're exping.

This is kinda just a crazy, desprete scheme, but does anyone know if you get crystals of something Too weak to be worthwhile if a.. say.. lvl 1 person with signet is in your PT? Or do they have to make the final blow? Or does it have to be EP and above to everyone in PT to obtain them? I'm almost completely sure that they won't, but I really doubt I'm the only one desprete enough to try even the stupidest of schemes for these crystals. =)

Fire crystals are up to 4,000 and rising on Unicorn. I remember when these were worth about the same as a wind crystal (not long ago either). There must be a reason for the inflation of fire crystal prices since from what i've read the prices are rising on all servers. Anyone know whats up with this drastic increase?

Getting crazy on Cerebus. They are going for over 4000 gil per stack. What's up? My level 9 WHM can't seem to find these off Vultures near Bastok anymore. I used to get a fire crystal 40% of the time I killed a Vulture, now its something like less than 10%.
Stacks jumped from 2k to 3.5-4k over the last two months on Seraph.
Do yourself a favor and learn to grow these--sooner or later you'll run out of low level jobs to level-up in Ghelsba. If many crafters turn to gardening and farming for their crystals, a nice price-war might ensue on the auction house.

I get crystals off of to weak to be worthwhile all the time....it's how I farm. Please don't post stuff if you have no idea what your talking about.

You used to be able to get crystals from too weak enemies, but they changed that in the October patch. This is one reason why the prices of crystals have gone up.

Dropped off Mobs...Does that mean you don't have to have signet on to get Fire Crystals from certain monsters? Forgive my newbishness if this is a stupid question.

The only exception to this rule is killing elementals and getting clusters off of them. which is what I've been forced to do. On iceday when I'm goldsmithing I grab a tele-dem or a choco and head to valkurn to farm fire elementals when the element is right.

the price for these on my server (midgardsormr) is getting horrible. 2500 a stack and rising. its so hard to make money crafting anymore. is this happening on other servers as well?

Never, ever sell these at the AH. You're just making things difficult for yourself in the long run.
The laws of supply and demand state that the more of something there is, the less the price will be. So really, you should be selling as many of these as possible, so that the market becomes flooded with them. Since there would be so many, people would be forced to drop the prices.
If you really are unhappy with the price of crystals, just sell them at the lower price you think they should be at, and if we're all lucky, everyone will get the hint and sell low as well. (Not likely, as people will always be greedy... like me ^^)
If you really are unhappy with the price of crystals, just sell them at the lower price you think they should be at, and if we're all lucky, everyone will get the hint and sell low as well. (Not likely, as people will always be greedy... like me ^^)

I have killed a thousand vultures outside bastok and never ONCE gotten a fire crystal. Leveling from 0-9 Hume WAR.
..Did you make sure to get signet cast on you first?

the vultures outside bastok drop fire crystals NOT wind crystals

In my opinion, the best place to farm fire crystals is at ghelsba outpost from lvl 6-12 soloing. All the monsters in this place drops Fire crystals except for fungars which drops dark crystals which is even better! But yeah, start your way from south to north killing orcs that read "seems like an easy prey". beware of orcish grunts specially orcish vagit or how ever you spell it. Like i said this is a good place to farm fire crystals and lvl at the same time if you plan on soloing.

The Vultures outside of Bastok do drop Fire Crystals.

yup, if enemy con's at "Too weak to be whorthwhile", you'll never get a crystal off those. That goes for everyghing out there.

If you outlevel the fire crystal droppers too much, they won't drop anything. Same goes for every other mob.

at higher levels in groups, the best place that i have experienced is fighting orcs in davoi. it is better if you are level 26 and up

Another good place is int the Valkrum dunes fight lizards. They drop fire crystals
