Enmity
# Dec 06 2005 at 3:33 PM Rating: Excellent
This thing says Enmity -1, but I saw some behavior that would make me think it is +1000. I was escorting somebody into an agro area when I engaged a mob. The guy I escorted didnt get agro before the fight and didnt engage, but the mobs stuck to him like glue and he died.
How To Get Halloween Items
# Oct 28 2004 at 6:17 PM Rating: Excellent
It's a bit late, but I'm hoping this info can still help some. I finally figured out what I was doing wrong trying to get my items. You must equip, or not equip the items your given to get more. If you want Pumpkinhead I or II, or Trick staff I or II make sure you have no halloween gear equipped in your head or weapon slots. If you're wearing Pumpkinhead II, you will never recieve the first one. Instead you'll be given Horror Head II. What you want to wear is as follows...

To get:

Treat staff, wear the trick staff
Treat staff II, wear Trick staff II
Horror Head, wear Pumpkinhead
Horror Head II, wear Pumpkinhead II
____

Trick Staff - wear non halloween weapon or nothing
Trick Staff II - non halloween weapon/nothing
Pumpkinhead - non Halloween hat/nothing
Pumpkinhead II - non Halloween hat/nothing

Of course if you have the hat you want, but are still stuck on staves, you can equip either the Horror Head or Horror Head 2. They should stop giving you hats at that point, and only pass out Lanterns or staves. Same should work the other way, wear a Treat I or II staff and only get hats and lanterns.

It still takes some time to get them items knowing this, but it should work for everyone. I wasted 200k + trying to figure out my mistake on my main, and have gotten the items for at least 5 alts for less than 50k since figuring it out. I hope it's not too late for ppl to get this info and find their Halloween gear. Good luck to all~! ^-^

GREAT WORK!

About 1 hour 40 min after reading this post and
15k in Oranges i got the remaining 4 items i needed. (YAY ME 8/8) If some say that this isn't the only way it is done, then i would say it's still by far the fastest!

Also, i would like to add my findings. The last few items i collected were done by standing at 1 NPC till it paid off, even a "Jack-o-lantern". Soon as i got anything, i would move to another NPC that gave me a different costume. Before i made full circle of all costumes, i would obtain a rare/ex item.
Not saying only Yag costume NPCs give "Treat Staff II", but soon as NPC that give you a Yag costume pays off, dont do Yag costume again till you get one of your rare/ex items.

Anyways, helps pass time trading all those oranges if you have a plan. About 3 hours and 30k investment isn't to bad for 8 rare/ex's.
Thank you FrostAdora for you post, till i read it i thought i would have to wait till next year to get the rest of my items.

Pumpkinhead
# Mar 15 2004 at 10:55 AM Rating: Decent
As I was still in my first week or so playing around Halloween and trying to find my way around San d'Oria, I vaguely remember asking a JP player where to get the cool pumpkin heads, she gave me a stack of Faerie Apples and some sweets and pointed me to the ghouls and skeletons wandering around town saying 'Trick or Treat...'. I turned alot of them in (you could only give each one a single treat before you had to zone.)

Never got a pumpkinhead and I couldn't buy any more myself. This year, if they do it again, I'm going to get one. :)

What were the Quest items you needed to trade to get Pumpkin head? And my LS has both Heads Horror and Pumpkin. Was there any special Equipment for Chirstmas? Back to them Pumpkin Head, do you need to fram the Items needed? Or can you buy them? When the monkeys where hoping around, what did they give you? And what was with the Moogle floating around giving out presents?
Thanks in advanced for info.

The monkeys would give you random buffs when you traded them items (the buffs would never last long) and also sometimes a New Years Gift (fishing imagery support when you used it). The moogles were giving out random fireworks. I wasn't around for Halloween, so I couldn't tell you about that.

Actually, the floating moogle gave out more than just fireworks. I got an Adventurers Certificate, and a Moogle Belt.

FYI,

This item was only aviable during the halloween event you had to trade items to ghost and ghoul type npc that were running around town. I don't believe you can get them any more at least untill next holloween.
Horror Head
# Jan 16 2004 at 7:07 PM Rating: Decent
I don't see it listed on this website... but there was a more rare pumpkinhead item at holloween. It is called Horror Head (looks the same). Also Rare-Ex. Lv 1 all jobs, all races.
It's ability reads:
Full Moon + Darksday + Nighttime:
Enmity - 50.

Can anyone tell me how much enmity values equate to? How much is -1 "worth"? Much less =50? Or how to measure it explicitly? I would also like to know if those "conditions" are mutually exclusive, or if all of them need to be in effect for the enmity-50 to take place. It could really be interesting. I'm surprised it isn't listed on these boards.
Btw: No this isn't a joke, i'm looking at it in my inventory, had it since Halloween.

yes, it has to be a full moon AND darksday AND nighttime (between 1800 and 0400), also enmity -50 is crazy good... CRAZY

I'm guessing this quest was around during the Halloween event. Is the quest still available?
