caught these with a bit of strain as a 24 fisher with full gear, carbon rod, and minnow. using minnow in wind woods you are guaranteed to only catch pipiras (or items). i had to fight with the fish a bit. they are harder to catch then nebimonites but i did skill up on them. tried composite rod but i kept getting: what ever was on the hook was too small for this rod.

@19 Fishing + full fishing gear these things put up quite a fight. Still very do-able tho.

I use the Carbon Rod/ Minnow Lure Combo.

These are quite good little money makers for me at the moment. They sell for about 340 each at the culinarians guild in windhurst.

I'm synthing them at lvl 22 and catching the pipira with a minnow at lvl 11 fishing. If you can farm fire crystals then this recipe is very cheap as you'll only need to buy rock salt for the synth. I haven't bothered trying to sell them at the AH yet as I need the cash and they don't seem to be a popular item.

about 8k per stack when they do sell on Alexander.

Seems like nobody can agree on this. FFXI.cannotlinkto has them at +14% Atk and +14% R.Atk.

I don't have a parser so I can't confirm which one is true. I think bottom line, these are good for low level R.Atk, but I doubt they'd be much use past level 15 or so.

I was under the impression that these gave a bonus to Ranged Accuracy and Ranged Attack, not just regular attack. Am I wrong? =/

I was wondering about the price of these in AH, guess I better check. Not a cheap fish 599G in fishing guild. To make cost ±850 so must sell for at least that.

Going to try some for my DRK

I checked AH prices on my server... ~5k/stack of Pipira (fish) in Windurst on a good day and 12k for a stack of Roast Pipira in Jeuno. But it sells kinda slow, because I don't think the mass population know what the fish does... but they do sell eventually.

I was thinking about synthing them after I work out a good recipe for growing fire crystals (got Bay Leaves and La Theine Cabbage last time >>;)

This is an awesome item. Do you HAVE to have LvL 21 Cooking to synth this?

21 is the cap so you will need 17-18 to have decent results and can start it at 15-16 with alot of fails.
