juiceless

Well I tried 1 today and was quite disappointed by the effect.
My starting mp was 21 and after the refresh effect wore off I had 81 mp. Only a difference of 60 mp! That's a major step backwards from the melon juice so no use using these during parties. Just do as people said before: make these from 48-50, then (making sure your cooking skill isn't capped) make mulsum and sell it for profit.

What's the MP Regen on this? The page says 2, but I highly doubt that's correct. Thanks!

I skilled up on these from 43-50, dark crystals are a pain. It's cheap, but at 5k a stack of crystals. it can quickly add up if you aren't farming your own. But this is a fast skillup. for me it was 8/12 would rise by 0.1/0.2 etc.. I say, using a mule - or airship, stock up on Grapes. Then run back to windy for Snyth aid, lessens brakage, and face north for dark crystals. If you have the patience to sell them, try "low lvl popular places", like Dunes, Qufim, or Kazham, and just leave yourself standing idol for a few. For the Melon Juice (was 1k in AH I sold 700G) they sold pretty quick using these areas. But other people perfere not to use Dark crystals and want to save them on yagudo drinks. I leveled on yagudo drinks from 55-60 this again, being a fast, cheap-ingredient, skillup. So really, if you aren't farming your own crystals, its not THAT much gil wise. and if it really does burn your pocket, do what a craft is meant for and profiet of things, Like Selbina butter etc, or start fishing! =)

this seemes like a very cheap craft. My cooking is 42 right now and i plan to lvl cooking from 42-50 off these... i know there will b many many many many...many :D fails but its still very cheap... heard the grapes are 68gil each? if so.... thats 816 for a stack of grapes. I will probbly need around 12 stacks of crystals and... 4 stacks of grapes per stack of crystals, so... 48 stacks of grapes(40000 almost) and im not sure how much dark crystals are... maby4k a stack. either way i plan to do this then use the juice to lvl off muslum to 56 =)~ (excuse me if my math is wrong, dont correct me either i dont care >_<)

IMO this is a rubbish drink.

You are better off making orange au lait from lv 46 - 51, they dont sell well, but i just sold them to NPCs,

Making drinks to skill up without gobbie bags to hold this is a nightmare unless you have plenty of mules to send this to. Save your dark crystals for making yag drinks.

This is good imo to skill up on 48-50, then use the juice to make mulsum which caps at 56, and sells for good profit.
Definately worth it

For any magic related class, this synth is definately worth it. I used it to level from 48 to 50. Stacks of dark crystals cost about 2.8k on the high end, (233 per crystal about) and the grapes cost 72g each with my lvl 6 sandoria fame, making the cost per juice 521g. I put them on my mule in windurst and they sell like hotcakes, about 7 every two or three hours. Now, the profit margin isn't great, but i'll only fail maybe 1 out of 24 (I synth in my house with the tablesetting), and i'm prepared to take some losses when i'm leveling my craft.

Not only this tho, you can use them or sell them to your LS. They're great for boss fights, since they're basically half duration yagudo drinks.

So yeah, my only question is when does this cap? I think it may cap at 50, since i've made about 36 synths since lvl 50 with not one +0.1 to my skill. Is the rank on the table (50) the rank when it caps or the rank when you'll most sucessfully make it or the earliest possible rank you can make it (which would be wrong in this case).

The number on the table is the skill at which you no longer can level up your Cooking skill by making this stuff.

In this case, once you hit 50, you could make 1,000 bottles of this stuff and never get so much as 0.1 point.

By the way, am I the only one who finds it ironic that such a simple recipe (4 grapes...not that complicated) requires a fairly high cooking skill to make?

I'm more confused that it uses a dark crystal instead of water crystal.

I mean, with a dark crystal I can see these grapes ferment... which means that it's not grape juice, but wine...

Wins.

Also, SE just put in the dark crystals to make us feel special, and to make sure that low level crafters like me have no money <3

My question is.. if you're stuck between Tomato Juice (caps at 43) and Apple Pies (caps at 48 using lizard eggs), why would you attempt to make Grape Juice (caps at 50). ^^

As a white mage myself, I've been trying to make mage-friendly food while leveling cooking. I went from Pie Dough (caps at 42) to Apple Pies (with lizard eggs, caps at 48) to Apple Pies (with bird eggs, cheaper, caps at 50). I had a gazillion pie doughs while leveling my skill, but they're needed for pies, obviously. In addition, they were cheap to make and I sold some extra stacks at AH on Siren for 700 gil. Following that scheme, my failure rate was extremely low. (Perhaps 1 or 2 failures every 2 stacks of crystals.)

Once you get to Grape Juice level, if you're tired of making unstackable juice to raise your level, Crayfish Balls (aka Crayfish Paste) sell fairly well and are easy to make. Profitable, even if it's a small amount. (They cap at 52.)

I just tried this too. I spent 12k on dark crystals and grapes and made about 4 juices at 41 in cooking.
#Anonymous, Posted: Feb 24 2004 at 2:52 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) If you're trying to skill up in the no-man's land between Tomato Juice at 42 and Apple Pie, Grape Juice is the biggest mistake you can make. 4k+ for 12 attempts, sells to stores for 100 gil.
