i can see alot of people are bashing S/E because they think this a RMTing.
my personal look on this is its a in-game item that happens to come with something that u actually buy. yeah some people might buy the real life thing just for the in-game item, but i think they meant it as a bonus to your purchase...not as the reason your buying it. besides its 40 hours between casts, i dont find that to be a huge advantage...

Click Here for the eBay Listing!

It's on E-bay right now.
The code has, of course, expired, so I was wondering if any Final Fantasy collector/fan wanted just the talisman...
Last I looked it was $10!

A HUGE slap in the face to Canadians. I am getting VERY fed up with Square-Enix and their so called "North America" store. We can't buy anything of theirs because they're to friggin' lazy to set up international shipping, yet they still have a "What country are you located in" tab on the site...wtf? Not to mention iTunes won't sell Final Fantasy soundtracks outside the USA and Japan.

NORTH AMERICA CONSISTS OF CANADA AND MEXICO TOO IDIOTS! Ugh. They're leaving out practically 70% of what actual North America consists of. So DAMN ANNOYING.

For starters, I'm not going to bash you for being angry at SE. I can see why you're pissed. At the same time, who really cares? It's a dying game.

I'm actually just here to bash your logic on population and mathematics. 70% of North America is non-U.S.? There are 41 countries/territories in North America. Four of which are the U.S. and our territories, the Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, and Navassa Island. Excluding the territories mentioned, the U.S.'s population is chilling at around 303.8 million. The total population, including the U.S., is around 528.7 million.

Now I don't know where you Canucks are learning math or your social sciences but...

303.8/528.7 = ~57.5% of North America's population.

57.5% + 70% = 127.5%. Apparently that makes sense in Canada, but in AMERICA (The best country ever), our basis for 'max' or 'full' is 100%.

SE hit over half the population in North America. Judging by your math skills, I wouldn't sell these in Canada, either. I wouldn't want to get short changed on my order.

Moral: America is the best country in the world. Period.

He was probably not referring to population but instead land mass, but yeah would be better to reference population in a situation like this
No capes, but flowing jackets?

Ok I saw a mithra running around with this on and it was like she had fans from all sides blowing this item around. We can't have a cape I can see, but SE can make an item to sell for real money and the ps2 isn't limited?! Good stuff.

I've heard these same remarks about the Tidal Talisman from people I play with... and I don't really see a problem with S/E selling the item. Yes I can understand where you are all coming from, saying S/E is in essence a RMT, but not really. RMTs don't have the ability to create items for the game and also the in game item was a free code that came with the real life item. I bought 1 because I thought that it would be a cool item for my character to have in the game, since she is a SMN and the Tidal Talisman has Leviathan on it, but the real life item itself is a really cool collector's piece as well. It is something that I will have to remember this game by when the game comes to an end.

I don't know why they don't sell it worldwide. I stay in Canada and I can't buy it

This is why they kicked all the gill/gear sellers off the servers, S/E wanted to do it themselves. So much for Questing, camping, and earning your gear, wait long enough , and S/E will just sell it to you.

RMTidal Talisman. The only way to obtain this item is to trade in real money, very disrepectful to FFXI fans.

What makes this item any different then the things they give out at the FFXI Fanfestivals? Especially for the people who live across the country and can't go to those things.

The difference is that previous items were nice but this one is both unique and awesome. Nothing in the game comes close to the practicality of this item. To have it available only by cash purchase is a slap in the face to all players who either cant afford it or have no access to it.

Since S/E is now selling gear for cash are we to expect Gil will soon follow?

If S/E starts selling gear there will either be a jump in prices or everything will go way down. A new total low for S/E
