I am a lev 6 WAR, I just got a new Bronze Axe. I forgot you have to level up your weapon skill also, so I am practicing on easier monsters to build that up. Anyway. I was wondering if it is better for a WAR to use an Axe or a sword. I'm really new to this, so any advice would be great, Thanks!
Yes, I am a NOoB :)
Once your in the Valkurm Dunes you will learn about tanking. When your not tanking use Great Axe. When you are tanking use an Axe and a Shield. But also carry a sword around with you and keep its skill capped. Can never go wrong with lots of weapons capped incase your party needs it for skillchain.
Snap your silly little sword in half and get an Axe and a Great Axe ASAP.

Just to let everyone know, this is the wrong recipe for a bronze axe. I just tried making some bronze axes today and discovered that the recipe for bronze axe and bronze dagger were the same on this site. The true recipe for a Bronze Axe is:
2X Bronze Ingot
1X Ash Lumber
2X Bronze Ingot
1X Ash Lumber
