How quickly is this item used. eg: like 5 second, 10 sec, instant etc.? Because im debating on buying potions for maat fight, but i want to know which is the fastest because 5 seconds against maat could mean death. Thanks!

Posted: Jun 22 2005 at 6:14 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) this is a money making skill up... i farmed water clusters, 10gil for distilled water, got the saga from the vender. i farmed about 20 vines my self... but my drop rate wasnt good enough to keep up with my crafts... so i bought all vines in all the auction house's (700gil ta 1500gil per vine)... just got alc to 60 this morning and got about 50+ high potions... my linkshell is gunna here meh bitching about have so many potions for a <long time>. back to start of post... high potions were selling for 3k in jeuno... but price started to drop after my third straight day of under cutting, sorry about that >_<. now that alc is done i plan to lvl cookign 42>_>60 and bonecraft 0>_>65 (again excuse my spelling dont correct meh i dont care)

I don't believe leveling these with Alchemy stops at 60. I've synthesized 6 of these, no failure, with only a +.1 gain at level 56 Alchemy. My guess is they cap at 57, maybe. I have yet to test this out.

I was still skilling up with these at 59 even though it was rarely.

once you get within three lvls of the recipe you will get more skillups without guild support, so stop getting support for it if u want results.
Cap is at least 58, if not 60. (just hit 58 with em myself)

Guys...its posted at the top of this page the recipe is some distilled water,2 sage, and a malboro vine. water crystals are used, this is an extremely handy thing to have for quests, bcnm`s,AF, etc

I don't know about your server, but on Carbuncle, these potions go for about 1-1.3k each.

This is more or less the standard as far as potion use goes. Sells for 1-2k (depending on supply) in Jeuno on Valefor, and doesn't require the annoying-to-get Reishi Mushroom that x-potions do. I've taken to carrying Sage and Distilled Water on me, so that when LS members need hi-po we just go farm some Ochus or Malboros or whatever and I can synth them on the spot. Most melees will want a half dozen or so when they do genkai 5, and a couple for general emergency use can be handy too.

Does Potion accumulate less hate from a monster than a Hi-Potion per use?
No, it's the contrary... the Potions build more hate because you have to pop alot of these to get a decent amount of HP.
The only advantage of potions over Hi-potions is that Potions activate almost immediately, while Hi-potions take some time to be active.
Edit: I just read your actual question again... well I dont know if they build more hate PER USE, but anyway it's not the same effect and by the time you reach a level where you need those extra HP, a single potion wont be enough...
