I just made a bunch of these and leveled my woodworking up to lvl 6 (.7 in skill ups). Once I hit lvl 6 I crafted 5 more and didn't get any skill ups. So I'm pretty sure the woodworking cap is lvl 6.

Ok, well i crafted 12 of these at lvl 59 Smithing, Level 8 Woodworking and not 1 skillup and no breaks. Not to sure but i think woodworking would be 8

At smithing 28, wood 10.5 + adv syth help, I crafted 6 metal knuckles with no breaks and no skillups.

ok pples lets try thinking--what lvl is the wood that goes into the synth? lvl 12. therefore woodworking lvl 12 needed -_-;
Yes, It definately requires woodworking, as I just blew up about 10 of these and got a .1 skillup
