Peacock Charm  

Just a heads up in case any of you want to party with Gblazed on Valefor, he is a repeated offender of getting a party together, going after high-end treasure, after the drop he will quartermaster, then lot, effectively stealing the drop and then disconnecting. If you complain, he just blacklists you. There are over 10 situations of him doing this, with the Peacock Charm being the latest. GMs will not do anything about this, otherwise this useless fool would have been banned by now. And no, he did not steal it from me.

I went 1/1 on this, did my run today with...
RDM/WHM
BLU/NIN (me)
BLU/NIN

I used my orb first and things went bad right from the start, Breakga went off.
Thankfully it (somehow) failed to petrify the other Blue Mage so he was keeping us alive until the RDM and myself were off Petrify.
As soon as i was off it, hit up Azure Lore (We were in trouble) and zerged the hell out of my Compound Eyes.
The other BLU took down his Eye not too long afterward.
I used a Refresh Drink and ran back down the hill to finish the main eye off.
It was a close fight thanks to a rough start. I got knocked down to 9 HP thanks to Firaga when i was getting Utsusemi up. I would have died if it was not for the other BLU stunning right after.
Soon enough, the eye goes down... we run up the hill and pop the crate without comment. Then i see things like this in PT chat...

I didn't dare believe it, but since i was set to Quartermaster i looked at the bottom of my bag and sure enough there it was, Peacock Charm.

Did the UO run last night, because I needed NI.

We did your orb, your drops.

Went as 3 blms, set record at 3 minutes 3 seconds.

Out of the 8 run we did, I got Ni on both of mine.

7th run, we got PCC.

Going back today to try again for more Ni and PCC.

I seem to get better drops when I /random low lots before opening chests. Twice out of 5 runs total I popped the chest after doing a low /random lot and we got a PCharm on my run and Utsusemi: Ni and Erase on the other guys run using this method.

I know people are stressed on this BC because of the crappy drop rate but I suggest you do a low /random lot before opening it. It may just be a coincidence but this has actually worked 3 out of 3 times in my experiences, twice in Under Observation BC and once in Dynamis. I did a /random once some Koga gear dropped and it was a very very low /random. Like 23 or something. Then I lotted on the Koga Hatsuburi and my lot was in the 900s.

If anyone plays street style crapps they would know what "schooling the dice" means. I think of the /randoming before a lot is kind of the same concept. I know this game is completely based on chance with very few modifiers for drop rates but doing this method 3 for 3 has caught my attention enough to have to say something to the community.

I'm going to say it anyway, i hate this drop rate! On Somepage it says the drop-rate is 5% and i can understand that, i and my friends have done this BC and won 12 seperate times, and of those 12 wins we have seen 0 charms. 2 Erase, and one Ni.

Yet everyone in my LS has got the drop who has done it. Some are 3/4, others 5/10. I really am quite bitter about my luck with this BC, all i ever get is crap on my orb...out of 4 tries the best i ever got was phalanx. If only my LS's luck for drops was reflected in sky, they really need to turn on their "special drop powers" when were up there.

LMFAO what a joke, i currently play on Ragnarok and Fenrir server and prices sure have dropped, as of jan. of this year 2006 price was 28 mill for PCC, now nov. 25, 2006 its a meesly 4 mill, totally not worth the effort to do this BCNM since the drop rate is so horrible, well just thought ide add my 2 cents on the subject. 0/10+ atm and really at 4mill your better off hunting Mee Deggi for Ochiodo kotes ^^ which are 1.5 to 2mill atm. you will get 2 drops of kotes before you get 1 PCC and it wont cost you your seals ^^

Last one I looked at on Titan went for 9.1 mil ; ; Just got my nin to 41 (taking to 50 for CoP missions) to do this BCNM, and the price drops by about 4 million. Oh well, 9 mil is still alot more then I have atm, lol.

I herd some thing about how the moon phase matters? I don't know anything about that could someone tell me?

Decided to try this, NIN/WAR NIN/WAR RDM/BLM setup.

Fight Is a cake walk, 3rd one we got drop.
Did 3 more, got Erase twice.

No life under half, half MP, Kill Time 8min

Easy, Fast, Reliable, Fun. Quite Happy with it

Ha, fun fight. out of my 3 orbs i've traded i got 2 charms! but.. I lent it to my close friend who lent is to his friend... and then it was gone.. and that was at the time it cost 20 mil O.O;

First of all, I would like to say our group made the impossible possible. The dynamic trio: Ranz | Valint | Echizen.
Jobs? We went as [DRG/WHM RDM/WHM PLD/WHM] wasnt too hard we jump in buff up, then full rest. We run in while RDM kites the Sobbing Eye, while me (DRG) and PLD focuses on the Compound Eye on the right. After we kill the first compound eye, RDM runs back with the other 2 and we grab another compound eye. It dies, then we rape the Sobbing eye. Must have to say it wasnt too hard, but the problem is we spent over 200+ seals and been getting crap drops, the best we ever got was Fire Spirit Pact. YES! we tried Full Moon and New Moon, didnt do much of a difference. This BCNM is a waste of time and seals, that is why this Charm cost so much!! Good Luck and its not worth it.

I went BLM/WHM with NIN/WAR and NIN/WHM and we owned! we went on 0%Moon (just luck of the draw) but we destroyed this BCNM! Utsusemi Ni Erase Tourney Patas Tilt Belt PEACOCK CHARM! (which is at 30mil on alexander) so we each got 10mil out of it split it 3 ways! Dear GOD IM RICH NOW! btw this was out of 2 fights not 3 one nin had to go so YEAH! thats my story! :D!!!!!!! THANK YOU SOBBING EYE. (PS anybody that says a blm cant kite this tell them to screw off. Blink up, start the fight with paralyze on the hecteye's (was never resisted) and kite him by running away from him and casting bind (sticks for close to 30 seconds per bind and never ever ever got resisted, he's highly susceptable to bind b/c im elvaan blm and my low int didnt get resist once!)) Happy hunting

huh.... who said that peacok charm would worth 30m ... it dropped to 5 or 4 mil on bahamut long time ago... but now .. prices are GOING UP LIKE CRAZY T_T

This necklace is running at about 28mil on ragnarok i beleive. This necklace... It sits there in the AH taunting me saying: "Haha! you're too broke to buy me!!!! You'll never get me in BCNM MUHAHAHAHAH!!!" -.-' I swear with all my heart that i hate inflation. I really hope when i try the BCNM later that i'll be able to get this necklace with no trouble at all. I'm lvling SAM, so i need the acc more than anything. Would save me soo much trouble and actually be of assistance to me for more than just the sam job. I really hope when i try this BCNM that i'll get it, cause there is no way i'mgoing to waste soooo much gil on this thing in the AH.

OK, I know you hate life stories so i'm going to get down to it. RDM is crucial to this. I went as BLM/WHM NIN/WAR and NIN/BLM. NIN/WAR-GALKA and NIN/BLM-HUME I didnt see much diffence in the twos damage on ele spells. NEway. I Kited the main one while they took on the other two. I did fine, started with Elemental seal Paralyze, the NIN/WAR voked his but the other NIN panicked (Tell the NIN that subs BLM if you get one, to pick a spell to pull hate right off the bat ) Well after about a 5 second delay he took that one and I was running down the ramp with full HP (Paralyze was a good choice, Two of his spells were stopped) I casted Slow on him and Bound him when I got to the bottom. The NIN/BLM Freaked when his shadows were down because he was focusing on his element wheel ( I recommend a Veteren Ninja pair for this BCNM ) and turn towards the Hecteyes was paralyzed, Interrupted twice while trying to Cast Utsusemi: Ichi (Apparently Ni was down) was down to 50 HP so I try to go heal him. I Divine Seal Cure II him gives him 180 HP then the Hecteyes Firaga's Us and Drains him. He's dead and Dlvls O.o to 39. Now Ive got hate for both him and the main one. Without stoneskin, Phalanx, Regen, CureIII, and Gravity I was screwed. I died. Other Nin held out for another min and a half and was dead. lol Told you I wasnt going to tell a story. Anyway with two experienced Ninjas with capped Ninjutsu, a BLM can be the kiter. But my suggestion, PT SETUP RDM/NIN NIN/WAR NIN/WAR (I think an extra Voke is better than the INT boost and Drop in DEF and HP) Hope I reached someone.

BTW......Anybody Figured a drop rate on the Peacock Charm, Its going for 24mil on my server ; ; and i want that thing for my mnk.

what about 3 nin all tankin backwards ? would that work at all ?

Peacock Charm is going for 20Mil on Seraph now.

I can confirm that this does drop from BCNM40 Under Observation in Horlais Peak through Ghelsba Outpost. In fact, last time I did it before writing this, we got 2 charms in a row!!! Ya, we were pretty excited. Maybe because no one is doing this bcnm on my server, the game realizes that it's allotment hasn't been given out so gave us 2 in a row, idk, just guessing here. My friend is 3/12 and I'm about the same.

i wonder if 2mnks and a brd could beat this both mnks get acc and attack songs and then eat a good food for acc and 2hour at start and both own the main mob while the brd keeps the others asleep and then mnks just go from 1 mob to the others but brd would need /whm and hi-etherx2 or more and a few hi-potionx3 for each mnk.

i think ima try it.....
