Is this better for whm than the holy ampula?
which is better
# Nov 01 2007 at 4:47 AM Rating: Decent
Holy ampulla goes in your ammo slot. Holy phial is neck piece, which gives mp+9/mnd+3. If you want the few extra mp, go with the phial. If you want the extra mnd, go with promise badge.
is this a good idea?

Yes blake, it is a very good idea. I didn't get my macro mnd set till around 60 because I didn't think it made THAT big if a differance, but it really really does. I have about +27 mnd that i macro in and now I can do over 700+ to an IT mob boosted up (1200+ with a brd and spirited and logcal etude >;D /grin). instead of the 300~ish I used to do. Anyways, get all the mnd+ you can get to macro in for that chi blast.

Quest: The Promise

Port Windurst
Given By: Kohlo-Lakolo
Pre-Req's: Truth, Justice, And the Onion Way!; Know One's Onions; Onion Rings; Crying Over Onions; Wild Card; Inspectors Gadget
Items Required: Invisible Man Sticker, Clump of Shoalweed
Item Granted: Promise Badge

To help the Joker Cardian escape far away from Windurst, the Star Onion Brigade wants you to have Pichichi's mother, Chamama, make him an "Invisible Man Sticker.

What Chamama needs in order to make an Invisible Man Sticker is some Shoalweed. Shoalweed (Rare/EX) is dropped by Recluse Spiders (Lv.63-66) in Kuftal Tunnel.

Once you turn in the Shoalweed, She will give you the sticker to turn into Kohlo-Lakolo for your Promise Badge.

Makes a lot of sense that you must do the quest for a level 58 item before you can do the quest for this one. Nice job Square Enix. /clap

Some people have other jobs. Maybe a 70BLM wants to take his WHM sub to 50+ and doesn't feel like paying 150K-200K for an item he can solo. Doesn't seem so ridiculous to him, I bet.

Many good NM drops in this game are useable at a level at which you could not possibly fight the NM.

Oh he wont listen. He just wants something for nothing.

The order of the quests doesn't make sense. Being logical you would think the quest for the level 59 item would come "after" the quest for the level 48 item instead of the other way around. Plus the fact that the Badge is pretty much unquestable until you are well out of level range to use unless you get high level help is rather strange too.

I'm sorry if I'd rather do a quest or something fun for my gear rather than mindlessly farm up the gil, doesn't mean I want something for nothing.

Either way this thing is killer for WHM. Don't see anything better in the Neck for WHM ever for MND. The only time I'd think of replacing it is with the Star Pendant or Fenrir's Torque. Even then I'd still /equip swap it in for Cure V's and Enfeebles. Guess there's the Ajari Bead Necklace but it's not like that thing is on the AH very often.

I bought one of these a couple days ago as an upgrade to my Holy Phial. I didn't really NEED it, it was more of an impulse purchase. Not complaining though, lol.

Costs 60k on Carbuncle.

Kill spiders in kuftal for the item. Then finish in Windy. Reward is a Promise Badge. A must for any high-level WHM.

It is in fact the reward for the last SOB quest. Justice is the first one, this is from the last. Details can be found on good ol' Mystery Tour.
Buy it
