would it?

Would it be a good idea if you were from bastok and bought this with your CP to afford the Royal squire's gear?

Redmage Syle

Seems like a great peice for a warlock's wardrobe. It has decent Def for the level and the look suites the job as well! I also level ranger so when i'm redmage my ranged skills are always maxed. This makes it worthwhile to carry a bow into the field. Since I'm not nuking that much at this level, archery added to my melee output makes me more than just a "refresh *****"
wtf

Why cant rangers were this i wish rangers could cause it looks sooo cooool. And the RACC is awsome on this it would buff a ranger too much though.
who's the puller NOW:P
# Feb 08 2005 at 8:08 PM Rating: Good
Ever notice how people scoff at you when you sub their main jobs. Im a thf/rng and the rng's I see say thats a dumb combo. So I sport this coat (+1 version actually) and see if it starts to make sense to them. Id like to see a rng get away with getting their throwing skill maxed out and not hear crying from their parties....mine is at 120+ and climbing.:P
Argh!!!

Why the hell can't rng use this?!!!
RE: Argh!!!
# Dec 11 2005 at 6:41 PM Rating: Default
Because it'd be almost too perfect of a buff armor for them. I mean, RNGs dont have to fight close enough to need armor with such good DEF as this gambison, so it's better off for those who are known for close in meleeing. RNG are best off on either long distance for just archery and marksmanship and pulling before a kill, opposite of whm, or mid-range.
How about some abstract thought?

The reason they offer gear like this to such a cross section of jobs is to encourage diversity...something this game needs badly. Anyone else sick and tired of running into someone looking just like you? Trust me, I get it a lot being a Mithra Thief. So mostly I wear stuff that I think looks good on me and not stuff that functions the best...something I get heat over sometimes. Which is sad because all the best gear in the game can't hold a candle to someone's inability to play the game well, something I've had to prove time and again to some of our slower players. Don't be so quick to undermine SE's job choice for gear. Somewhere out there is a WHM that makes sh*t happen with some of the craziest gear that no other WHM would wear...and just so you know, I leveled my WHM to 25 and had to pull on many occasions. I did very well. Remember folks: it's not what you play with, it's how you play with it.

lol when the **** you rested your mp then... xD one thing is to be open minded and another is to be dumb! unles it was somekind of banish burn pt of 6 whms... oh then it would make sense XDDD

EXCELLANT!!! Rate up.... another person that thinks like me and is a non-conformist... I"m soooo tired of hearing "you should be wearing blah blah" or "why do you have that gear?"... But I think my all time favorite is "you don't have a good job combo". What ever happened to playing the game for what it is and what it's for... IT'S A GAME PPL!!! HAVE FUN AND ENJOY IT!!! Do and wear and sub what you want and you will have fun. Isn't that what you are playing this for anywaz?? (unless you are one of those inbred ******* gilsellers too gimp to get a real job >< ) I wear what some would call crap gear all the time... but I'm always looking to be able to use these things to my advantage, and while not everyone agrees all the time, most will see my point and find that my playing ability FAR outweighs any "substandard" gear I may be using. but hey, that's just me ^^ I play to have a good time and that's what I get. ^^

I do the same. Level 37 I was wearing Gambison gear as BRD. Level 40 I'll be doing the same. Visually, it's one of my favorite pieces in the game. Can't help but grin when playing songs with this equip.

Here here!

I do the same honestly. Being a monk that tends to work out for me. At least I find O's Kotes to look cool, at least until I get my Temple Gloves. I'm a big fan of the Gambsion/Aketons and I'm going to wear them. Guess I'll get my throwing skill up and use this to pull with Pebbles maybe that way people will look past the fact that I'm not fitting into the cookie cutter of a "perfect" monk
drg?
# Oct 25 2004 at 6:27 PM Rating: Decent
Whats the use of DRG using this other than def prob cuz all they can use is a pebble and some other weak crap which isnt woth the stats
RE: drg?
# Feb 03 2005 at 3:37 PM Rating: Default
from what ive heard the Jump moves count as a ranged attack so that might be a reason...

You spend Conquest Point to get this item:
Rank 4 (Bastok, of course)
Cost: 8,000 CP
Bastok must be placed 2nd or higher in Conquest.

Wouldn't it make sense if rangers could wear all this iron musketeer gear? Just a thought..

That is pretty stupid if rng can't use it... I can just imagine what happened at SoE... "Hey guys, what jobs can use accuracy plus?" "Hmm... how about White Mage? They can use an accuracy bonus, they make great pullers!"

.....Good work, guys.
#Anonymous, Posted: Feb 13 2004 at 1:04 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Maybe try to sub a RNG?
RE: .
# Dec 18 2003 at 6:42 PM Rating: Default
It would, wouldn't it. So much good ranged gear in the Iron Musketeer line and rangers can't use any of it.
