This sword has been blessed by a crimson aura to make it very useful for mages.
If Final Fantasy XI was an offline game with the same storyline (up until Chains of Promathia), it would've been one of the greatest RPGs ever made.
This is one amazing sword for it's lvl.
Has a nice INT and MP boost so you can MB for much more.
The delay on the sword isn't so bad either. I remember equipping this for exp partys till around lvl 60-ish.

So as a RDM, i have equip change macros for a sword and a club (and a staff when high enough level), but should I stick with Centurion's Sword for melee instead of getting this? Attack+4 Accuracy+3 for the Cent. Sword is a nice buff for RDM melee... and Solid Club (+5 Int and Mnd) covers the Int bonus... Whatever, spare gil will equal Crimson Blade I guess.

I bought this, as I started with a sword for RDM right from the lvl 1, and just stuck with it!
I meleed until 30 or so anyway, so the swords generally did better damage.
Now with the staffs at this level giving A LOT better stats for magic effects, and the fact that most pts dont want a rdm to melee, means I have gone back to using rose wand +1 - 10mp loss, but 1 Int and 6MND gain. The damage doesnt matter if you aint using it.
I kept a hold of the sword anyway, to use for farming.... since I havent used staff for sooooo long I cant hit for sh*t! =P
(I was hitting wasps in rolanberry for 6 when I first equipped wand lol)
Prob best idea is to keep this until lvl 52 when u can buy the Tactician Magicians Wand +2.

This sword would be awesome BUT since everyone in carbuncle over prices everything it was ~100k last time i checked which is just rediculous in my opinion! since everyone else posted they got theirs for like 20k! this sucks >.<

I just got this for 20k on Ifrit. I personally hate clubs so when I saw this I decked out in some more mnd gear to make up for the loss and got it. The InT is nice, but I still *miss* my rose wand for the mnd. Still, swords rock, and if we rdm couldn't use them, I'd be a blm.

if you miss your rose wand macro it in with Cure IV's and some MND enfeebles :P u can still use it

Yea... macros are your friends, you dont need 1/2 your stuff +int and the other 1/2 +mnd when you can have the best of both!

This is a good replacement for AF1 when you can get it, but only as a farming weapon. Never use it except when I farm. Cast Haste and an En-spell and damage is good.

Price bounded up to 30k on Caitsith- good for me, because I was just about to sell it. 300% money back ain't bad, considering that covers the cost of my Wise Wizard's Anelace.
As for using this as an alternative to a wand, it works for a little while, but I had a fairly difficult time trying to get my white debuffs to stick properly due to the lack of boosted MND- and I'm an Elvaan. Rose Wand +1 alleviated my problems immediately.
