On the subject of a Rng's power. I used to run a 5 blm 1 rng static cause blms were so plentiful back in the day. I'll say this. The rng regularly pulled hate and had to back off. he was a rng/sam and let me tell you spamming ws and having the agi to land every hit was impressive. Oh and he was a taru. Rng is jsut unstoppable with right setup.

With the acc this gun wont miss (As much) and with the attack will add damage to a bullet with only 1 point of DMG on it........

i don't know if it has been ever mentionned but i tried to desynthesis one when i got it in Davoi . I made an hq (i don't know if it was hq1 or hq2 or HQ3 ) and obtained 6 gold nuggets.

Although I dont even have ranger, i got the drop AND the boomerang today during a BRD AF3 run. As a 68/34whm i gotta admit, this thing is tough for a lvl 34-40mob. Yikes. The gun looks cool, but only worth 10k on Seraph AH. either way it was worth the effort.

I bought this gun for 10k on Shiva, and have to say, I was extremely disappointed.
In combination with bullets, the DMG is 71, but the delay is 900! This thing takes fooooorrrevvaaaaaar to shoot.
In comparison, Holy bolts with a Zamburak+1 have 52 DMG with 472 delay.
with the additional affect, holy bolts were doing as much damage as the gun, and MUCH quicker, you can get two xbow shots off in the time it takes for one gun shot.
IMO, until you can use silver bullets at 50, guns are a waist of money.
They sure do look cool though :)

I dont entirely understand this, the additional effects from what I've seen and experienced do add points of damage to the combined total of the weapon. The damage dealt at the base (the actual weapon damage) and the additional effect.

OMG i went to try to get some archer knife today and i ran by this thing. i figuared it wasn't anything special so i kept run man im kicking myself in the ass now...
I love getting this gun for 2 reasons and 2 reasons only you can hold more then 1 at a time and it sells at the store to an NPC for 10500 gil which on my server is 500 more then the AH and its a lot quicker then waiting for someone to buy it in the AH.

*edit* This combined with Two Archers/Hawkers/Hawkers +1 adds a whole lot of accuracy...making those hits count cause a miss with this much delay ain't fun.

nope, it got more to do with the price of the ammo and it's affects, guns and bullets are pure brut raw dmg while some bolts and arrows got magic that can help in some cases. moreover, a top of the line arrow (the type that is widely use) cost 500 gils difference each round so of course people will use bows and xbows more then guns.

No they're not. It just requires more gil to buy bullets than it does arrows. An up-to-date gun vs. an up-to-date bow and arrows has higher base damage.
The only exception is at lvl40 when guns fall behind a bit if the RNG uses scorpion arrows along with the battle bow +1, or elemental arrows, compared to serpentine + bullets.

very true to that, since RNG is a very gil-intensive job, i've already planned VERY VERY CAREFULLY on what bow/crossbow/guns to get at what level, to maximize my usefulness in a party. It's not completely useless, but it's better off getting bow/arrows or crossbow/bolts than to use a gun/bullets before you pick up Musketeer Gun (Lvl50 DMG:34 Ranged Accu +10) and silver bullets, which is at lvl50 (lvl50 DMG:81 Delay:240!!!)
but i did pick up Arquebus +1/bullets when i hit lvl22, just to see what it's like using a gun, man, what fun!

They're cheap because the FireBlecher drops them often. They also drop a Long boomerang worth about 3k on Valefor

How much does this particular gun sell for?
On Unicorn they go for only 10k or so. I picked one up at lvl 19 and have been holding on to it until lvl 34 at which point I will use it breifly between farming to get ammo for it :)
I never did figure out why they're so cheap, my only guess is the vast majority of rangers (on my server anyway) don't use guns.

im sure whoever made that comment was only hinting at rng's scary attacks and how much hate they garner anyways, but seriously, i cant remember the last time a whm in my pt had to use benediction in a battle b/c things were getting ugly. i am a rng, and i static with a thf every day. we do ludicrous amounts of damage with piercing arrow>SATA viper bite. whms love us, they dont even have time to debuff mobs and cure, its one or the other. so by saying a rng's main purpose is to pull hate off a whm who just used benediction makes it sound like maybe u should look for another job? or find a good core group and static. b/c a whm shouldnt have to use benediction, except as a courtesy upon leaving a pt, or to reach exp chain #6, when he/she has a depleted source of mp.

I don't think you understand. I think what he means is, when a WHM uses benediction, it is EXTREMELY hard to pull hate from them, and that only a Ranger has the firepower to do that.

There's only two things I've seen pull hate off of Benediction before. One was a PLD using Invincible. The other was me using Last Resort + Berserk + Souleater + Power Slash (in Yhoator Jungle against a gobbie) with a Chiefkabob buff up. Sadly, while the PLD survived just fine, I became Gobbie mincemeat.
Of course, I haven't PTed with RNG for a while, but the last one I did PT with put me to shame (this was while I was still *really* noobish, as opposed to just newbish like I am now).
