wow. 1/1 on this guy as RDM69/THF25. was wandering around cause im saving for a wing sword and wham... here he is. Kill him with no intention of getting the drop and he drops it. killing part is.. i fought him a zillion times when i wanted the damn thing >.<"

Should i get the horror voulage or this axe?
depends on if the +8 atatck or the +2 str is more important to you. I used this axe and put +attack in some other slots myself. Theres also the slight delay difference, but its pretty small.
The horror voulge also has +1 vit tho, so if you find your self tanking sometimes perhaps you'd rather have it.

I would like to vouch for the fact that Horror Voulge (Lv.37) Is much better.

whoops blank any who was helping friend get key for BST AF-1 (Axe) i was a 58 BST and tore him up like 8 times that night solo it was easy w/ pet tanking. But I got Axe twice in less then an hour. No TH we both subbed /WHM. Also got Clusters out the assss. Not a bad night with clusters gill and Axe's. oh yea he got key and found Axe.

im in and out of Upper Delkfutts tower all the time im 0/10 on the drop rate tho but all the same mimas drops a moderate ammount of gil and i just love killing these giant beasts what wade in the area also thunder elementals are rampant in this area during thunderstorms.. not hugely profitable area to farm but no competition makes relaxed farming :D

This nm was easy i foght it 3 times but no drop. im a 53 rdm and had no trouble at all. He does hundred fist of something like that cuz it was atacking quickly. so i used sleep II on him and waited for hundred fist to run out then started to attack again. i honestly think i could have betten it when i was 46-50, when i get sleep II

Well Well Well, this guys is a piece of cake. I have fought him a couple of time helping pple with Rank 4 and no drops. Lv 55/Rdm. I am now a lv 60/Rdm and i am running around in the tower farming and fought him twice today. (3-22-05) The second time I ran into him I stomped a mud hole into his but and was rewarded with the axe. Oh yea my lv was 60rdm/10thf for the gil trait.
This is pretty much the best Gaxe for that lvl.
The drop rate is bad though I killed it about 20+ times before I got the drop. I was Pld/war though so no TH.

it actually isnt horror voulge is lvl 37 60 dmg and 8 attack so huge moth axe is not better lol
Wow then I guess we were lucky. I was helping 2 IRL friends of mine with mission 3-3 and when we reach the door to where Porphyrion is, lo and behold there's Mimas. 55 nin/war (me), 37 smn/whm, and 37 war/nin we killed it like 1 minute with no one losing any hp. It dropped the great axe too so we let the war have it since he uses dual wield axes and great axe.

I was told you could farm here for great money. My friend went in here and was getting chest keys left and right, killed the NM got a few axes and was raking in cash. I figured, I could take my 60 SAM up there, and sub theif 25 at the time, for TH. I got up there and 3 hours of giant killing i didnt see one single freaking key, the NM didn't drop any axes and StickyIcky, the PLD just kept voking all of my targets from me. His excuse was "people do it to me". Aside from that, links killed me 1ce and another time i died when i stumbled into a secret 12th floor full of EP that linked and killed me. I just now killed that thing while writing this post and of course no drop. My friend was a war/nin and was getting outrageous drops and I'm getting ****. Someone tell me wtf is going on here?
:P I'm 0/4 on this guy now. Went up to the top with a friend to treasure hunt/whack this guy. We stuck around for about 4 or 5 pops... not a single drop. Oh well! I think I'll try again, (and treasure hunt up there again).
I'm gonna look up his price on Cerberus right now :P

Just soloed Mimas, 41 RDM/WHM Elvaan, got the drop.
Easy as pie.
Blink, Stoneskin, Bound him after he cast Hundred Fists, and got out of range.
No prob.
Only thing you have to worry about is linkage.

If you are planning on camping this guy to get the axe beware... Extremely low Drop Rate.
Killed it 5 times in a row and no drop (with Treasure Hunter ON!)

anyone know how much its worth on leviathan?
Have killed mimas 25 times with no drop, so g/l
13 min spawn from the time of kill. hes never late unlike my girlfriend. where the hell is she. enjoy
my LS (the Secret Squirrels) all did rank 4 together for the most part. we r all slackers, so it was an alliance of 2-50's, 6-40's, and 2-35's. definitely a bit of overkill. it was fun blasting our way up the huge-@$$ tower, lots of good pics! we fought this guy twice. got some socks, thats it. we all fought him together the 1st time, that lasted all of 25 seconds. the 2nd time, nobody cared really, they were just waitin on the big ugly keyholder gigas to pop again, so me (40rng/nin) and thf/nin(40) fought him. barrage/sharpshot (battle bow+1/scorpion arrows) and my 2hr beat him b4 thf could even get off a SA-viper bite.
do those other 3 NM gigas that drop the str upping bracelets pop in this area? and how often? we didnt see them at all.
btw----that was a bad day to be a gigas

killed him 6 times, he uses hundred fists everytime, and some other damamge aoe. used my lvl 50 pld, only took about 100 hp off me, easy kill but still never got the drop for my war, even with thf subbed to 15...

on garuda its about 8-10 k
got this for a friend of mine last night. The NM is a 10 minute pop and is not hard with a lvl 35 group, or 2-3 lvl 40's. He will sometimes use 100 fists, the monk's 2-hr skill, which kicks anyones ***. When my group was doing the rank 4 mission, we fought it 6 times, no axe, we went abck last night, first fight, it dropped...

he spawns right at the door before you enter hte room for the rank 4 mission boss...

Managed to get a hold of this guy when doing the Rank 4 Mission. As he is right beside the NM, polyphorion or something, so...Took our poly, to get our key. Then took out this guy.
He dropped Axe. ^^ I won lot with a 463. lol
