This axe looks good, however the Combat Caster's Axe looks better. I plan on macroing it in for Charm and swapping to the CC Axe. The STR+ is no where near as good as Attack+ IMO. I will say that it is probably the best Charm piece if you can't get a Signa until AF thought.

ok so I bouht this axe for 39 bst for 1k on bahumut it's got charm +1 just wondering whats better charm +1 or chr +2
these two axes cannot be compared.
Charm +1 gives you a 5% extension to your duration of Charm.
CHR +2 gives you a better chance at Charming a mob.
Dual wield both to get both bonuses.

but, your charming ability is affected by your charisma. so +2 charisma is way better.

One of the better and more useful AF weapons. Too bad when I hit 40 and do the quest it will sit in my Storage since I'd much rather use one of these at 40: Combat Caster's Axe

You don't find that the +CHR may be more useful?

Truthfully, this is a fantastic weapon. I used it up until level 50, but only because I didn't care to lose the 2 CHR and use an Axe with barely more power and/or -10 Evasion.
In fact I still have it with me. When I fight the Goblin Leeches in Gustav Tunnel, I can only use pets weaker than me, which means I'll get every speck of hate if I decide to melee (rarely happens anyway). I switch to it to Charm and to melee the leeches, and use the Mythril Pick +1 to kill the random lower level gobs for TP.
It's also a good idea to keep this weapon instead of something slightly more powerful if you hit WAY to hard (like a well equipped Elvaan ^^). This weapon is good, but the slightly less attack helps you not get hate when you solo if you have any trouble with that.
But one of the best things is that it's LEVEL 40! That means you can keep it in your main bank and whip it out for BCNM40.

Heh, it isnt bad for a lv40 1h axe. It is the BST AF weapon, but nobody uses those. :p
Actually, we use this axe soley for aobut 3 levels, and then move on to other axes for fighting. The two CHR on this is a nice little extra boost for charming so many hang onto it even longer than that. Still others switch it on for charming then whip out the CC's +1 or +2 while fighting. Overall, I'd say this is one of the better AF weapons in the game.

I used this axe until the Mythril Pick +1 at L50, it is a great weapon. The only other axe in that level range that I considered was the Viking Axe at L48 but I personally didn't like the Evasion-10.
Compared to the sucky wand I got from BLM AF1 and most other AF weapons this one rocks. :D

Do you not know theres a job called Beastmaster? it is an advance job that you charm mobs to help you fight... veyr coll i think^^
