Viking Axe 
What lvl can you get away with using these axes before the base damage on them starts gimping you? just wondered as i just got a pair almost lvl 48 war.
also if you have +40 acc from gear at lvl 48 do you have enough acc to use meat foods on IT mobs on regular xp camps or do you still miss to often that you still have to use sushi? i find allot of stuff even with +15 acc at lvl 47 is low evasion with agressor up. [tilt belt, venerer, woodsman and those gloves with +2 acc]

This is a great mob to farm, You get them Axes and Kindred Seals and Beastmen Seals! I got 2 of them Axes for my DRK/NIN in ballista. I'm sure they are great for skilling too.

Ive been farming Girtabs last 3 days, and I am 0/38 O.o they count DC+ to my 64rdm/war but solo them aint a prob. drop rate it as bad as it say... they are now 250k on bahamut, I have long been lookin for an income source that gilsellers dont monopolize, but lol i understand why they dont kill girtabs... imo price should be 500k

And I really love theese axes, they only cost me 100k each but that was not a problem. When I had them I really could feel the kick from the ACC+20 from 2 axes and I was DD so did some nice damage on mobs. But when time came I had to let them go sadly.., since I figured that I need axes with more DMG /cry

Today I made my mule sell them.. I need gil for a Haubergeon and figured at this level I don't need theese axes that bad. Only thing I could need them for is lvl 50 cap stuff but I have other jobs that can fit that.

I am 57War/28nin I dual wield 2 viking axes, Im not to worried about the Evasion hit from these for 2 reasons. 1: at Lv.40 a warrior's role changes from tank-type to Melee 2:I have shadows if I catch agro, or need to voke. if you are that worried about the evasion negative, then buy 2 drone earrings, the agi helps evasion. as far as equipment goes, I have most of my AF, 2 drone earrings, 2 sun rings, spike necklace and reraise gorget, jaguar mantle, vanguard belt. I use sole sushi and I rarely miss. not saying that's the best gear to have, far from it, but it is a very nice set-up in my opinion

i don't really understand why you experienced this. when my warrior turned 48 i swapped 2 of these in immediately and my hit rate, as well as damage soared.
i was extremely impressed by the performance of these axes, until at later lvl, when their base dmg really caught up.
might be because of your equipment and food. i assume you would already be wearing a life belt, and are you wearing snipers ring as well? and if you are doing all these and eating sushi, i guess that's the problem. your accuracy hits a cap. with +20 acc from these, and +20 from belt and ring and those sushi i guess you won't see a lot of improvment.
however, if you switch to some HQ str ring, and attack food you might see a difference, drastic one.

Rate up, a post that states another opinion or experience without being a flame ^_^. Very nice axe, even as the off hand weapon at slightly higher levels that 10 acc can be sooo nice.
Slightly different use i saw, a Drk duel weilding these as a nin sub 0_0. Not used to the idea at all but in a 51 pty on crabs he did rather well. Hurts that u loose ur voke or sneak attack, but dmg wise he did very well.

I was just finishing up doing mission 9-1 for windy (final cut scene at full moon fountain) when i got aggored by this i saw the name and thought it was an nm cuz it was only thing that aggroed me, i check it and it says easy prey low evasion ... ?? ok so an ep agro with a funny name i killed it got the 2 claws and shell like a normal scorp drop and also got the viking axe i was oh kool maybe a 5k drop looked at it and saw - 10 evasion and its for wars lol "great will probaly sell it to npc" i get the cut scene i was after warp to jeuno just to compare ah price on axe to npc ... omg 100k ?????? hello... hello?? a regular mob with a 100k drop thing and no one camps it? i did see like 2 names that sold more than 2 like 3 so maybe they camp it, but now for me i found something to camp, now i need to know how fast this scorpion respawns hehe =D hunting chest for life belt or killing one mob for axe ... oh btw i am level 70thf/ninja came out of the battle at full health .. of course like all good thf's u never get hit by ep anymore :P (meaning at higher levels where the A+ stat comes into play... don't yell at me was just making comment :P) hehe happy farming everyone

im a WAR and in all the time i was a WAR, i only evaded about 4/5 hits, so might as well lose the EVA, we do more DMG, let us take the beating i always say
As a WAR/NIN I can say that the way double attacks works is per hit. If I dual axes, I randomly will hit 3 or 4 times. I would assume this is because it gives the chance for the extra hit per axe. With MNK I don't know since it's only 1 weapon equipped. But based on the name of the trait I would assume it does in fact double the attacks ie. 2punches>2 more punches. Otherwise they would have named the trait "One extra attack there lil buddy".

isn't evading 4 out of 5 attacks (4/5) a good thing? why would you want to lower your evasion if you are only getting hit 20% of the time?
He most likely meant 1/5 hits if he's fighting anything over EM without +evasion gear, which 1/5 hits is pretty much an overstatement methinks, it's more like 1/10.
Or he meant 4-to-5 hits, which is a gross exagerration, I can assure him. :P

I just wanted to see if i could get the smallest reply box lol. But anyway, WAR should have less evasion to maintain hate if tanking, if DD, it doesnt matter either because there's hopefully a tank and if you get hit, you'll still have that remaining evasion.

Is the evasion loss for a Warrior worth it? Since you need Evasion to dodge attacks while tanking?

I have alot of evasion + armor for my bst, and soloing it makes a difference, but most of the time i'm with my duo partner. And any mob VT or higher i almost never evade, i can unequip my emp pin and not see a difference. I'd say these are good for bst also for that reason, but everyone's different.

It's kind of a toss up. You'll hold hate a lot easier with them, but get hit more. I'm not too sure about main tanking with them (I haven't leveled WAR that far to find out), but for backup tanking/damage dealing, I'd say definitely get them. :D
Most war/nins dont tank 50+ anyways. So I think these are great axes ^^
completely agreed with Leon, this is a lvl 48 axe and around then, most warriors wont be doing too much tanking since a paladin will hold the hate better with more defense also
Therefore, buy this axe, i dunno how much it is on Titan for me, but still if you are going to dual wield axes, or even as a BST, your pet will be getting hit more often anyways so go with this axe

These 2 axes are the best investment you will ever make as a Warrior. I haven't put these axes down since I've purchased them. I tried dual wielding Darksteel Axes+1, but your Attack does not change nor will you see a difference in the damage you cause. You just can't beat these at 67 for the incredible delay and +10 accuracy. Everyone wonders how I gain TP so fast as Warrior, and these truly are the reason. I still think every warrior should keep all of his/her combat weapon skills maxed. It truly adds to the Warrior's natural versatility in battle.

There are Girtab's in Quicksand Caves too, any idea if they drop the axe? If so, getting some people to help camp Sabotender Bailorina (for Dune Boots) might actually be a realistic goal. ^_^
50-58 these axes can easily replace Sniper's for the cheap war, because you'll be doing good dmg AND the +20 accuracry (+10 if your not war/nin, and you don't have two of em ;P) surpasses the +10 accuracry from two snipers, or +14 from two +1s. But of course, you can always MAX out your accuracry (I.E, Sniper's RingsX2, Royal Guard's collar, Assault Earring, Life Belt, Viking AxesX2, Haubergeon, coming out with 60accuracy o.O, not including aggressor) needless to say these kick a?? though lol

one more thing, what is the drop rate on it? at what lvl can i farm it? and how many ppl should i have with me?
conned tough to me while xping in the canal as a lvl 56 bst, beat it down with a decent dark aspic pet no problem, it's not any tougher than any other scorpion, just your average scorpion.

They were 50k on midgarsormr, but they have gone up to 90k-100k. Are they worth it? i was planning on Dual Vikings once i got there, and im in a static so im not tanking. or should i just stick with G.axe and Life Belt? (also +11DEX)

Yeah, the prices seems to be hovering in the 55-60k range on Seraph now. I bought my two for around 180k each a few months ago. But then I also paid more than 500k for my Gluttony Sword, so I'm kind of used to watching resale values plummet!
I've heard many WARs argue that the -eva isn't worthwhile for a WAR/NIN, as we are expected to tank. I ran log parsers while dual wielding these with my WAR from 48-56, and I outdamaged every DRK, every SAM, MNK, and DRG that I partied with. Only RNG and BLM consistantly outdamaged me, and even then not by all that much. I did 85-93% of the RNG's damage in most parties. I was able to outdamage poorly equipped rangers easily.
So yeah, these are well worth having. Don't like the -20 eva? Fine! Let someone else tank =)

These puppies are dropping -steadily- in price on Seraph. As stated, they used to be 300k+.
I bought two back at the begining of August, each 80k. I sold them @80k at the end of Augst to play Samurai to 50.
I'm back to warrior now and just bought two again. One was 51k, one was 54k.
This wouldn't be too odd, except everything else seems to be inflating on Seraph. But hey...I suppose some prices coming down is a good thing.

I just bought 2 for 75k each but it was 300k about a month ago...it dropped fasst...trust me it was in 300ks
Price is around 350k each on Seraph...saw Drk one day with 2 dual wielding in Kuftal...pretty nice....hard to find I think because not many camp the mobs so only way to get them is by someone selling it for next axe..

Although this isn't EXACTLY replying to your server's price of this axe on AH, just wanted to note that I checked today (for when my 47 WAR hits 48) and they are about ~~50k on Odin~~

The price is actually around 80K on Seraph. It's been that way since I bought mine a week and a half ago. Nowhere near 350K.
