151 parsed fights

I parsed 151 fights from level 19-25 and have confirmed the +10 accuracy.

Melee accuracy raised 10% while I had this food on over meat mithkabobs. I say +10 acc, because I also had +5 accuracy over the sam and nin in my party and my mithkabob accuracy was also 5% higher than there's. I think that's pretty strong evidence. +5% acc given +5 acc gear over 'normal' characters. And then I use the lantern and go up +10% over what i was with mithkabaobs. I think in this level range that +1 acc = +1% accuracy.

The ACC +10 does seem to work, but it doesn't have the dramatic effect you would think. You'll prolly need acc +20 to really stop those hateful misses. So I belive what boomhauer

the +acc does work. i have tested it using many higher lvl DRKS.

all of them have had a lifebelt so i had a few ways to test if it was true.

first the no Jack-o'-Lantern and lifebelt off test for 10 fights. they said their acc sucked and rarely hit and their party was pissed but it was all worth it in the name of testing

second was the on lifebelt and no Jack-o'-Lantern test. 10 fights and they said they hit like normal but weaker due to no meat kabobs.

third was lifebelt off and Jack-o'-Lantern eaten. 10 fights and they said their acc was the same as if they had the life belt on. this was very intresting to me and will be usefull

fourth and the last test lifebelt on and Jack-o'-Lantern eaten. results for this was a rare miss and an almost always hit against their mobs. this was amazing and most told me it was about a 90-95% chance of hitting O_o

i am currently gona retest my theory with fresh drks (if they refuse i usualy bribe them with a few free stacks meat mithkabos or a few K gil after test is done.) since they are high up finding their party leader is not very hard ^^;

i would like other people to test this on other servers jsut to make sure my info is correct

note this will not be updated since i rarely check the dark/food forum things and stick to the bst forums

I ate one last night. I was leveling WAR in the dunes, and being a Tarutaru, I wasn't tanking, so I have way I can reliably say either way on the evastion issue. Definitely lasted an hour, definitely -10 CHR +25 Dark, but I didnt notice a big accuracy difference. That may be due to the fact that my attack was lower than normal due to lack of Mithkabobs (I'm not sure of the exact correlation between attack and accuracy, but I'm pretty sure that there is one, as when I equip a weapon I'm unskilled with my attack and accuracy go to the crapper).

As for the +10 acc and +10 eva claims, I will believe them. It might at first seem to be too good to be true, but this is the only food with only - stats, no + stats that I know of, and the - stat that it has is a biiiig one (even if it is one almost nobody cares about).

Problem is on my server a stack of wax will run you 10k, a stack of pumpkins 2k, and fire crystals anywhere from 1.5-2k. That's 13.5-14k just in materials right there, they don't stack and i almost *never* see them up for auction. That being said, when they do go up for auction, they go for less than 200 gil usually.

If you see someone dumping this godly food on the AH or less than a stack of earth crystals, BUY BUY BUY!

on Lakshmi, these items and Marron glace (mp+15+13%, +1mp while healing) go for 5-6k on ah. Don't know how much the materieals cost though, as my cooking is only lvl 10. :P

Why haven't dark knights jumped on the bandwagon? These seem like the perfect food for anyone who swings a heavy weapon and has a hard time landing hits and who doesn't want to receive too many either.

Jack-o-Lanterns have additional effect "Arcana Killer" and add Dark +25 stats. This would be a good food for special cercumstances such as Dark AF2 Quest.

Full Effects:

Charasma -10
Accuracy +10
Evasion +10
Dark DEF +25
Additional Effect: Arcana Killer

How are effects such as evasion and accuracy validated considering that there is no statistic you can observe directly? I haven't seen the +10 accuracy and +10 EVA cited on any other board. Eel kabobs, though, are consistently found on other boards to offer both +4 dex and +5 EVA.

+10 Accuracy and Evasion is cited in the official guide book. That's probably where the numbers came from.

pumkins
# Feb 21 2004 at 8:16 PM Rating: Default
Some people take the pumpkins and make pies out of them. They are not the right kind,so they dont taste quite as good, but it still comes out pretty good. Even less than perfect pumpkin pie is still pretty damn good.

well if you look at the effect, chr -10 and dark +25 it's easy to see... zombies and witches and deamons eat jack o lanterns.

and you know you wanna be just like em, so eat up!

It is the best food for DRK, it will give you a +10 acc and +10 eva bonus. and it last whole hour. Cheaper than a Peacock charm.

you don't eat it don't mean you CAN'T eat it, what do you think happen to your jack-o-lanterns after halloween? the hobos every year waiting for that day to have their annual feast get together at the train yards with the jack-o-lanterns that they have gather, it's the only time of the year they can go to bed/sleeping-box with a full stomach. So you see kids, just because you waste perfectly good food that doesn't make it not edible to start with, now pull out the candle and start clewing!

I'm alot more likely to eat one of these in real life than a meat chiefkabob. What the hell would that be, anyway? A leader of an indian tribe on a stick?
