The grotto is not a good place. I spent hours upon hours there, and got like 2 ores. I mean I would say in the span of like 5 hours a day, for 3 weeks to get 2 of em. /sigh

on midgard darksteel is now more expensive than gold ore hehehe, i remember when 2 darksteel would equal 1 gold :P thats before the inflation though...

I've had some luck mining these ores from Yughott Grotto. I have much better mining experiences there then oh, lets say Gusgen Mines! *shudder* I suppose alot of the results are based on luck though hmm.

You can also get this drop from the NM "Bigmouth Billy" in East Ron. I fought him once back when i started as a lv 13 WAR...haven't seen the cute lil' guy since. <.< >.>

I bought full field gear, plus a stack of pickaxes (4.5k) and I was minging there along with 4 people, and they were dicks, they would take my point while I was mining it. Anywho, I got:

6 Copper
4 Iron
24 pebbles
4 Tins

Total of like 3k gil for all of em, making it a -1k Profit. I guess I'll do better next time...

Gold Ore also drops from Goblin Miners in Labyrinth of Onzozo. Very rare drop though.

I mine in Yughott more regularly than anyone. I must say i am the "King" here. Ive done all 5 gobiebags, blacksmith 27, goldsmith 12, so i can minimize my stuff into ingots. I have full set of worker equipt as well. Usually i take 6 stacks of pickaxes, and 2-3 stacks of fire crystals. In 2-3 hrs here i pull down 40k at an average. My best day was yesterday, in 2hr i got 8 gold ores, 4 darksteels, and 6ingots worth of irons. I think the amount of good stuff depends on others mining. When im by myself i usually get the best results, so stay out noob miners.

Today I started mining in Gusgen, my first time ever mining, So I brought full mining gear, 40 piks, just about anythimng that helps.
Anyway, after about 2 hours mining, and using up around 15 piks These are my results (not including copper, tin, zinc or pebbles which happened ALOT)

6 Iron Ores
1 Silver ore
3 Dark steel Ores
2 Gold ores

I got 1 dark steel, and 1 gold ore in the same spawn, which I shouted, and got this response 'B*****d!' So I think that means I did well ^^;

i made my first mining trip today with just feild gloves and 12 pickaxes. Im lvl 25 and needed a good way to earn gil and i diceded what the heck lets givi mining a try. I went to yghott grotto(i camped the ashmaker after my pickaxes all ran out). Well anyway i had no trouble finding mining spots becuase ppl were campin the ashmaker and not lookin for mining spots. so after around 10 minutes of mining my 12 picaxes all ran out. I was left with 3 tin ores, 2 zinc ores, 3 iorn ores, one white stone, 3 flint stones, 12 pebbles and one gold ore!!! i sold them all and made 10,500 gil. Subbtract my 4k for the gloves and 2.5 k for the pickaxes i made a profit of around 4k gil. Pretty good considering its my first time mining.

hoe much was this worth before Ps2 release cause its like 7k max on my server.

Getting gold ore in Gusgen is about as rare as getting darksteel ore in Zeruhn IMO.

So where could we get this from?
