Giddeus Chest Key  

I'm still trying to figure out what the big issue people have with getting this lovely(Yes, I refered to it as 'lovely') little key is. It could just be my Treasure Hunter kicking in from /THF, but I get it in 5-10 mobs everytime I run up for it solo. I normally go fetch a key and farm the Yagudo on the lower levels for necklaces while I keep an eye out for the chests to pop. I have more trouble with the chests being illusions than getting the keys to drop.

For a bit more reference, I saw about 10 of these things drop in a 2-3 hour period. Was duoing with an LS buddy of mine in the last room. We chained 3 and 4 at a time and sometimes got 2 drops off one chain. Neither of us had Treasure Hunter at the time. Was DNC/MNK(me) and PUP/WAR(Kildabeasttwo- a.k.a the craziest Elvaan you will ever meet ;p) synced to my 23, then 24 once I leveled. The key mobs were easy kills as long as they didn't chain when we had low hp and no Trance to back the two of us out of it when we got caught up chatin'. o0;

Keep Silence on the Theologists and Priests(if you have it-not too bad if you don't), and just beat the crap out of the Votaries if you are soloing. Easy as cake. :3 You should see one drop fairly quickly.

Sorry, I know, they're low levels, getting the key, learning the ropes of the game. But gawd!

My friend and I while camping Hoo Mjuu the Torrent sometimes help out people with their keys. We'd alternate camping while one goes out and hunt for them.
So today, we encounter this galka, whose looking for the key. We were getting necklaces and chips; and he lotted on them. We asked him not to, so he stopped.
Next, my friend comes back to the spawnpoint, I exchange and go look for the key. The guy is just standing there at the tunnel, doing nothing. He responds to questions two minutes after they were asked. I fought five yagudos, and wandered down to the larger area for more. I got a link on a Priest, and got Giddeus key on both. I <call> sevreal times, he finally responds, saying it's his first time getting the key here, I run back to his spot, he says "oh i'm going to go now" and starts d/cing. All the while we're saying <call> Dude, two keys right there? Genius? Gwad. Such a waste of my time, sorry, Argh.

hey if any1 is in the hades server could you plz send me a /tell (Johnholland) i am lost in giddues an i dont have a map an also if you could help me get the key i will give you a reward !!

took about an hour or more to get the key. me and the person helping me probably could have done it faster if it wasn't for the insane amount of people camping the spot when we did it. every time we'd find a yagudo, someone would run up and take it before we were even close enough to attack. we only got it once everyone had pretty much left and we were the only ones there.

can anyone tell me the <pos> of where the mobs that drop the key?

LOL, check this this out. In Giddeus w/ LS friend and whm, kill the dragon, and I decide to go find the key w/o a map. This proves difficult. But after 15 min, a lvl 70 rdm joins the pt, we cant see him, but he kills a priest and i get the key on the first try!!! I never even saw the rdm.

i killed friggin orcs for 3 hours, and still no key, i am pissed, if anyone on the bismarck server wants to help please do, i really need it...

This key is frickin impossible to get, I fought those things for 2 hrs with no luck at all. If any high lvl thf or any other job that can get it on the Ragnarok server can help me get it, Ill give u 5k gil. Let me know

I fought a Theologist and got a key on the first try and opened a chest, receiveing 1400 gil. Fought a Voltary and received a key and opened a chest to find a Shield Earring. Fought a Theologist and got key to open chest and received a Shield Earring. I got both keys on first fights (as lvl 32 RDM, that pisses me off since it took almost 2 hours as lvl 24 trying to get the key for Kazham Quest) and these are the first two chests I opened. Can't confirm that these are the only items, but I would say that it's a pretty good chance.

Got my key after about 7 or 8 yagudos. As a lvl 25 war/mnk, they were all checking as decent challenge or easy prey. Though, I could only fight one at a time (even the easies). I got ambushed by a priest while resting, and almost died, but at least he dropped the key! Yay! It was pretty hard doing it solo, but my double attack and counter were kicking in like every other hit. It was great!

With 2 thieves got 3 keys in a row.. weeeeeeee

1. the key only drops from the specified mobs in giddeus ONLY.

2. there are 9 spawn points for the chest. all are in southern half, none are in the caves and none are in the bottom part where the higher lvl mobs are (key droppers)

3.chest respawns 30min after it is opened in a new random spot.

4.chest reward is either gil or a Shield Earring (confirmed ive gotten earing twice and gil once)

How do you get to the room That is all the way at the bottom of the map?? It seems there is a path in the middle of the map but it is to high to walk up. Anyone know how to get up there?

How do you get to the south room, where they all hang out?

i believe you can also get them from a votary or theologist. with a little walking/map-reading, you can get to the southernmost room, where they all hang out

Yagudo Priest dropped mine. Easy to 30.
