Today I was in Fort Ghelsba.. ran into a tent.. killed a cursemaker.. dropped a key first kill. :D I was than curious as I saw a treasure chest up top near the zone to Yutto.. I traded it the key *grin* I received cougar katnatsmacknipples *i cant remember how to spell them* but they are level 20, h2h weps with additional ice attack. I than hunted for another key for the airship pass, and got it within about 30 minutes inside Yutto.. I was with a friend and on the way back we killed a few more orcs, and got another key.. and the treasure chest was up again, she gave the key to it, and we both got 630 gil.
So theres 2 things from the chest.. the cougar claw dealies, and gil :)~

i read this post, then i went to solo at lvl 24 to find the key, i killed 2 cursemakers, then a fighter, and the fighter dropped the key for me. i must've been hella lucky.

I'm doubting whether or not this drops in the Grotto. I went with a small party to the Grotto and spent the next THREE HOURS killing Fighters and Cursemakers, without one drop. Not one. We probably wiped around 200 of those mobs out over that timespan, as well.

went there w/ a group of 3, took 3 hours to get 1 key, then after that the next 3 battles we got a key. Had 1 extra, but no one was there to try and (invite, give key)to.

We got 2 keys on our first two kills in the Grotto. Unfortunatly, we needed one more key and it took another 3 hours to get it =-p But they're definatly available in the Grotto.

Ive been with two seperate parties to get this key, successful both times (for a total of 6 keys) and we've only gotten them from orc fighters.

Does the key's also drop off the ones in the grotto?

what treasure does it drop..?
These keys (Palborough, Giddeus, and Ghelsba treasure keys) are exclusive items (have the "EX" icon). Therefore, they are not tradable, or available for auction.

This key also opens up a treasure coffer behind a hut next to the waterfall on the way up to the top of Ghelsba.

you can get this key from orcish fighter/cursemaker/serjeant... check the grotto
