Had all the best armor and weapon I could get. Could take two quadavs at the same time but if another one spawn near you while you are resting, prepare to die. I did it today. Killed 2 Quadavs and then another one spawn near me. Died. However, luckly I got an raise and then another high level invited me to his party and let me lot the key. Phew!
My keys took just around average time as i have heard 1-2 hours is what most people said it took them to get a key. you guys are all at different ends of the spectrum. All the people I talked too said that thief was good for increasing drops. Just my two cents
This may not be true, but when soloing, I've noticed that the faster I kill the enemy, the better loot it drops. So, possibly at higher lvls when able to kill these Quadavs in a few hits, the keys will drop faster...
The keys are a pain, but after all, when you finished the quest I bet you felt like you accomplished something huh. Giddeus Key: Took me 10 and a half hours to get with 4 people in group! Pal Mines: Took me 2 hours and around 1500 in EXP debt. Ghelshba: Took me 30 seconds... no clue how that happened. Every quest in this game that are "Hard" has immense awards. I feel bad for you when you hit your AF armor quest.
Can Anyone list the Positions of the Chest in Palaborough? If so that would be great. Oh and I was just farming gil with my lv 30RDM/11 Ninja and I got the key on the 3rd Copper I killed. I noticed when I was in a group it took longer to get the keys about 2 hours for 3 keys with a 3 person party.
I went down there BLM25/WHM12 and a friend MNK26/WHM13. Honest to God we were there well over 6 hours. I used my 2-hour ability twice. We must have killed 200 of these creatures (Old/Brass/Copper), we got every possible other drop, and even found an NM (notorios monster) Quadav-lookin.
After about 4-hours the frustration grew because 2 other groups (6-people each) were camping the freakin' area with no care about stealing what spawns near you. Finally a lvl30 who had left the zone, came back 5 hours later, found us still looking, took pity and helped. About 2 more hours later we found the key.
My advice -- be prepared for a long trip. And if possible, try to hook into a group of 6. You'll be able to kill more (and easier steal kills from other groups with less members). Hope you have a thief too; if not I'd pay one to come.
If you got this key solo around lvl25 within an hour you need to spend all your money on lottery tickets cuz you are LUCKY!!!
Squaresoft is going to lose customers if they keep up this crap. Just like the Chocobo quest, is all that really necessary? I bet the lag in Jeuno would be cut in half if the Chocobo quest was cut or made quicker.
I left the game for two weeks at level 24 because of this crap...first I spent the 4 hours just to get the opportunity to ride chocobos...and then I find out that the only place to level is Kazham and the only way to get there is by Airship. And the airship requires another "elitist" quest of requiring you to go all over the country just because they can... All I can say is, "HOCUS-BOGUS!" "What the heck was I spending 4 hours getting a Chocobo for?"
1. you do not have to spend 4 hours to get a chocobo. i went and fed my chocobo whenever i felt like it.. sometimes catching it close to 24:oo so i could feed it that day, then wait for the next day and feed it again. you do NOT have to feed him in consecutive days. 2. ive heard many people complaining about not being able to get the keys, got mine within 15 mins with a war friend helping.. both of us lvl 24. the bigger the party... the less the keys drop. do NOT go with a party of 6.. you'll never get a key :/ 3. kazham is not the only place to lvl 25-30ish. right outside of jeuno, delkfutt's tower.. 4. thief's, imo do not boost the chance of getting rare items.. RARE items i say. ive gotten all my kazham keys, leaping boots, among other things soloing or with one other friend in NO time. :D goodluck to everyone
1- Agreed. Went at the end of a gaming session, first try at 23:00, waited a few minutes made 2nd try, killed time for an hour, gave 1st grass, logged out. Wake up next morning, log in, give 2nd grass, log out. Did dishes, took shower, breakfast. Log in, gave 3d, logged out, went to do groceries. Got back in, gave 4th, done. 2- You're exagerating, or had a freak occurence. 3- True, battalia is also a good place. 4- Disagree. Your statement goes against the actual in-game skill description of treasure hunter. I got 3 keys in one hour in gelshba, and a warrior that joined us had been soloing for a long time and never got his key. Treasure hunter DOES make a difference.
I got mine in less than 10 mins also and I was solo. First Copper I killed dropped it, funny thing was, I didn't even realize that I had found it. Its all a matter of luck imo
30 Thief here. I killed close to 60 of these quadavs tonight, solo, and not one key. Take points 2 and 4 with a grain of salt, because I know a lot of thieves that won't back them up from experience (But as Euler stated, some do see a difference). I have seen the exact same thing happen with most of the other rare drop items in this game. TH, in my experience, does not boost the chances of a rare item dropping. Normal items, yes, it definitely boosts their drop rate, but I have seen no boost in the drop rate of rare items since I turned lvl 15, personally.
1. You do not have to go to Kazhaam, you can go to battilla downs and level like all the JP do. 2. I like a game thats got some difficulty to it, so forgive me if I ignore whining complaints about squaresoft not making the game easy enough for you. Of course its hard, its the hard that makes it good. If you want a hand out go back to EverCrack. 3. When it comes to keys, ALWAYS GET SOMEONE WITH TREASUREHUNTER TO HELP YOU!!!!!!!
I killed 40 Quads by myself and no key, then I joined a RDM and we killed 25 more and got 1 key, then we joined a thief and had 2 keys in 30 mins. SO GET A THIEF, if you can't make arrangements to get one before you go!
Oh just to help you can find the monster to kill nearby the circles of flame.... (these are used in the emmisary missions) once you get to these areas then you just kill the needed monsters and you will get a key soon enough
This is a pain to find for the Kazham Pass Quest. If you want to get it then I sugest you be around level 25 with a white mager or red mage friend (maybe a thief also to boost drops) and be ready for the long hall. If you solo, and get it alone with in the first 15 minutes, then tell me your name so I may steal your lucky rabits foot. =) (took me 3 hours with a freind to get one)
I have never seen a mines key of any kind in any of the three areas, Palborough/Ghelsba/Giddeus Chest Key are the three required for the quest, the name here is incorrect.
#Anonymous,
