i was excavating in tahrongi canyon to lvl bonecraft. I had gotten 7 turtle shells and 3 silicas, on 5 stacks of pickaxes. along with mad bone chips and chicken bones
has ne1 tested to see how often they are excavated in the maze of shakhrami? i know you can get petrified logs there as well, my very first excavation ever yielded a petrified log ^^
Ive excavated a lot of these in the North East corner of Tahrongi Canyon. Sell for 3k on Bahamut server. I guess nobody does excavating.. Usually only 1 or 2 max on the windy AH
I have NEVER excavated one of these. I always have to buy mine for synthesis. Does anyone know if there are certain conditions needed for excavating these? Does it have to be Earthday? Full moon? Only if you have ALL the field gear? Any advice would be appreciated.
I just excavated one of these in Tahrongi Canyon. No special weather or equipment used. Was a lvl 13 THF. I was up near the stone monument area when I excavated it.

Can be extracted from a Shell Shield w/ a Lightning Crystal. Recipe confirmed, but way above my level of 3 bonesmithing. Not a bad investment: 400 for a shield + 100 for lightning = 1000 for a shell.
