I just solo'd this mob as a 60 RDM, with only 3 pieces of mining gear, and a sword and a shield... it's not that tough, it just has a ton of HP. Just keep refresh and your buffs up, and try to convert in the middle, he won't hit hard enough to break through phalanx and stoneskin quick enough to kill you after a convert if you're quick enough with the healing.
I've had this necklace for a few months now. From my personal experience. I don't yield anything different, but (whether its coincidence or not) I've gotten about 3-4 extra swings per mining point. I've hit mining points as much as 9-12 times, instead of the normal 3-6. After reading some of the other posts, perhaps there is something to this.

I got this Pendent yesterday, And started mining with my Workers Gear. I'm not seeing any better resaults.

I've noticed that when I wear the Pendent, that I get a lot more attempts to mine at one location. Even though the I break the same amount of axes or get the same type of ore, instead of 3-4 strikes at each mining point, I'm getting 6-7.
this quest is repeatable isnt it, so I could party with a mnk on it, and lot the pendant right? and does he have to drop AF1 to get quest again if so?

I know this is old, and you may already have it.
But for the people that do not know, there is no way to beat this solo Rdm 65, i had a lvl 60 Mnk and 62 Rdm (me) and we had a hell of a time killing it, we killed it both times with a sliver of life left and me out of MP from resting and converting

Mabey you just have sh*tty tactics. Ive seen plenty people at 65 solo the thing.

Back when I needed to finish my AF1, a 67(at the time) Rdm completely soloed the ghost. I did'nt even touch the thing, not that I would have done any damage.
Not a big jump in abilities from 65-67, so I'm sure that a 65 Rdm could solo the mob. Not saying that it would'nt be difficult, but it's definitely possible.
This used to be pretty fun.
it has Mining improvement results in it. i use it when i walk around in Ifrits cauld, it actually works. rock this with your field set your goodto goe. i kept getting adaman,gold, and platuim. god bless Monk quests :P

I dont know if this has hidden effects but on my way out from Gusgen I had 11 pickaxes left over so I stopped at a Mining point. I pulled up a Copper, a Tin, a Zinc, an Silver, a Pebble, a set of 10 pebbles, a darksteel and a gold. After that I was out of pickaxes and the point was still there. After I returned the pendant for my AF I went back and got another. This time I had 3 pickaxes. I got only 2 items from those 3 pickaxes... A Yellow Rock and a Darksteel Ore.
yes, i wear it when i go mining... not sure if there's any hidden effects, but i'm also gonna go get that wild rabbit's tail. (^-^)v

Wild rabbit tail is only for the Mhaura subjob quest, and this is only for MNK AF1. Neither will help you with anything but those quests. All they will do is take up space that you could be using to hold extra loot.

Yes, this is a required item to complete the quest "Ghosts of the Past", which happens to be the Monk AF1 quest... Why i need to tell you this, when there is a link at the top of the page, i have no idea, but there... maybe i'm just bored waiting for UPS to deliver my new computer parts...
Has any one kept this item and worn it while mining ? it could have hidden efects.

Actualy its not AF its just a item you need to get AF but i'm sure its rare EX anyway. Which means no you can't just buy it you have to get it from a drop.
