Blood aggro

It DOES work on undead, I've proved it as a WHM. I put it on, at low health, ran up to an undead, /waved /welcomed and even did a little dance.
As soon as I removed it (and I still had sneak on) I got aggro from the undead.
On that same note, I've put it on three times while being tracked by a gob, and STILL gotten hit. Track by scent things are stupid. This won't prevent those.

Lo, there, do I see my father. Lo, there, do I see my mother, my sisters and my brothers. Lo, there, do I see the line of my people back to the beginning. Lo, they do call to me. They bid me take my place among them in the halls of Valhalla where the brave may live forever.
Ah so this is why our last trip through Arrapago Reef ended with us under a pile of Draugars. "But it said on alla it would work!!"
Another liar about undead and deodorize...
You may not post here anymore, since that is a rather old timestamp, however, that is a perfect user name Flawed. For this reason:

Curb the attitude until you cure your ignorance. Two things:
1) Deodorize does not prevent anything. It merely increases the chance that a scent tracking monster will STOP chasing you after you leave its aggressive range. That is why it doesn't do a thing with undead mobs. You will be aggroed with low HP by an EP-aggressive or higher mob no matter what you do.
2) You should consult a bestiary. Goblins don't track by scent. They will eventually stop chasing after awhile if you get far enough ahead of them. If you were still being chased, then you didn't get out of their sight range, and Deodorize can't help with that. The reason it kept following you is because you stopped to cast or use the item, it saw you again, and was able to continue the chase.
Not every monster tracks to scent. You can test some by using a THF's Hide ability. Typically that would erase all hate from a Sight agressive monster. Try it on a Yagudo, works like a charm. But go try it on an Orc. Or a demon for even more fun. It won't work. They track to scent. Some aren't so easy to tell, so you can look up any mob here or at somepage or ffxiclodpedia for complete details. And that's what this spell and the item is for. You use it to help cause the monsters to stop chasing you.
I suggest any skeptics about undead and deodorize take up Senorcoconut's challenge. I'm getting tired of the blind leading the blind and causing unnecessary tension and downtime.
This is absolutely false. Deodorize does nothing to prevent low HP aggro. Don't take my word for it though. It's easy to test, so if you are curious, head down to Eldieme to test it for yourself like I did. Enter with low HP (yellow or lower), put Sneak and Deodorize up and run up to an Easy Prey or higher undead mob.
Be sure to put Stoneskin and Blink up and have your Warp spell/scroll/item ready because you will need it if you can't kill whatever aggros you. :)
100% false. I've seen far too many people try this, it's the same people who say if you stand still, Sound aggressive monsters won't attack. That's a myth too.
Listen up, Deodorize increases the chance of monsters that track by scent will stop chasing you. Undead monsters will always aggro you the instant you hit yellow HP, even with this effect up. I've tested it myself. It has zero effect on blood aggro mobs aggroing to low hp.
Monsters like Crawlers, Leeches, Orcs, etc. all track you by scent. When you use a Deodorizer or this spell, the monster will stop chasing you at that point if you are outside of its aggressive range at that point. Rain weather, and walking through a river also can shed hate from these monsters. If you don't believe me, go out to Ronfaure and aggro an Orc and run over a river a couple times.
Remember this in exp areas too. Places like Boyahda can really screw up an exp chain if you lose a crawler over the water and it despawns, but it's also useful if you happen to get a link in those areas.
All mobs agro from 2 or more types of aggression. The list: Sound, sight, smell, and magic.
All the elementals only agro via magic.
Undead agro from sound and smell, so you need BOTH Sneak and Deodorize to walk past any undead ... I tested this while full life (because they agro when low life no matter what, unless your a lot higher level than the mob) cast spell sneak + deodorize and walk up to an IT undead and I can stand in his face.
Being a red mage I can cast Sneak + Deodorize + invisible and NOTHING agros ... perfect for getting places too high for me to do alone.
