Do you have to be a journeyman to turn these in for points? The guildpoint mithraperson never asks me to give her this crap. I'm lvl 60-something, and these sautees are taking up alot of room in my safe >.< Seems like they cause alot of pain to us cooks :/
Like jazse below pointed out below, I also received 577 guild points for the HQ version of Beaugreen Sautee, Monastic Sautee, which is very nice. Saved me a lot of materials and crystals.^^
Well, i JUST got lv 53 cooking, and I did it with this food. Yea, it was a royal pain in the ass, took me two stacks of beaugreens to get from 52 to 53. I'm gonna see if maybe the cap was possible RAISED and thus made it harder to get any skillups.
But just to let you know, you CAN skill up to 53 on these.
its nov. 15 5:20 and i just made a HQ and traded it to guild person and got 577 points for it so i wanted to run up here and tell u all what the HQ points were thank you
Same here: Worst skillup recipe ever. Or could it be that the cap has been changed to 52 in some update, because for me the skillups stopped at 52. 2 stacks of Beaugreens used for no skillup whatsoever.
Can anybody please confirm skillups AFTER 52 on this recipe! Or confirm they don't get skillups as well.
Confirmed. Just reached cooking 55 today on Beaugreen Sautee, as you can see from the screenshot.
I did note that my skillup was kind of all over the place... I zoomed through 50-52, got almost no skillups for another level, then zoomed all the way to 54.8... only to stop getting skillups for another 2 stacks of materials. >.<
Overall, it was pretty expensive to get through this part (4k per stack fire crystals, but I had a few farmed, sold back results to guild for 182 gil each) but better than some of the other alternatives (ie: stone cheese.)
Can anybody please confirm skillups AFTER 52 on this recipe! Or confirm they don't get skillups as well.
Well I currently have level 54 cooking and I was making this sautee for the Guild Points. I got two .2 skillups in the process. Dont think the level has changed, its just as someone else mentioned, "skilling up in a craft above level 50 is just horribly slow and tedious".
Something you may want to try is not getting the support when youre within 3 skill levels of the item's cap. Works for me at least.
Opps : i hit enter ;; well anyways like i was bout to say is : 2960 total points you can earn and you can get 165 pts per NQ synth... good thing i saved sum of mine ( couldnt sell ) i turn my left overs in ^^

mmm, as i said before .. i'm just sharing what i found .. i stated i haven't tried it, if u did and it didn't give u that, then maybe cannotlinkto is wrong ... i dunno how they find this stuff u know .. ranged acc. is a hidden parameter, me thinks -.- , anyways here c it with ur own eyes : http://ffxi.cannotlinkto/itemdb/advanced-search.php?subtype=Food&affect_exact=1&affect=Ranged%20Accuracy , o and btw, i read somewhere that rng. acc. is not all what ur hit ratio is dependent on .. mmmm how can i explain this ~.~ lets take pld since its easier, what we lookin @ is VIT+Def , lets say the pld gets hit for 50-70 when Vit is 50 and def is 300 , now lets say he raises def ( rng. acc. in ur case ) he gets hit for 60-70, but when he raises his vit ( dex in ur case ) , he gets hit for 52-60 , so mmm try raising ur dex ?? maybe its what hinders the affect of ran. acc. , maybe even ur rng. acc. is maxed out ?!? ( btw i juuuust saw ur photo (nice ^.^b) .. elvaan like me ^^ mmmm elvaan get low dex u know it kinda supports my point, yet again maybe not ;.;) edit : site went down, sorry

I just tested this out tonight, and it definitely gave a big ranged accuracy boost. Without it, I was hitting way less with my ranged attacks.
By the way, this was as a THF60/NIN30, with 184-189 marksmanship and 89 AGI (with the +1AGI from this food), against coffer mobs in Eldieme Necropolis (which were T-VT to me). Great for skilling up.
Hmm...also the cooking lvl seems to have gone down. I started synthing these at 50 and it took me to 52. I made about 15 more synths and not a single skill up. At 51 I was only getting .1's. Anyone else notice this? And yes, I was making this recipe, not the batagreens one ;)
kehnex , u know .. it gets super harder 2 lvl any craft after 50. i mean really , maybe u should try in darks day 4 better skill ups .. but i dunno about its cap goin down .. check with the elvaan in the cooking guild .. he gives recipes close 2 ur level so if he gives ya this 1 ... well that means u've got some upper bad luck 4 these 15 synthesises ^.^v good luck mate.

I flew through the levels like it was nothing..noting getting a skillup each synth was kinda shocking to me ;) Now that I'm synthing stone cheese...I see what you mean. *sigh* the golden levels of cooking are gone for me :( *forks over 7k for a stack of dark crystals*
ahh kehNEX, u lucky, u get that dark cluster for 7k while we in asura bought it for 9k 4 some time .. but thanks 2 the mass farming of dark clusters.. we got back 2 7-8k ratio, anyways .. u suuuure u wanna do that stone cheese ? coz its a loss synthesis .. atleast was 2 me ;.; , u better of with yag. drinks caps @ 60 .. materials sold in kulshushu region vendor just use alla 2 know where they r sold , i know its gonna slow u down with the bag full and all .. but i dun think any1 would want 2 synthesis a loss recipe when there is a profitable 1 in range ^^

I started making these at 50.0, over firesday and earthday, with synth support. Used 6 stacks of fire crystals, one failed synth every ~12 synths. sold results to cooking guild vendor for 185g. after 72 synths I was at 53.0, so I got exactly 3 levels from 6 stacks of fire crystals. hopefully it'll only take 4 more stacks of fires to get to 55.0....
I lose about 102g per synth (cost is ~287g if you know when and where to buy your fire crystals on caitsith), so i've only lost ~7344 + what I lost from failed synths (can't give an exact number on that but it is at least 1400g) so all in all it I lost ~9000g to get from 50.0 to 53.0, in contast, every synth you make while leveling goldsmithing from 43-47 puts 10,000g on the line (mythril rings), so this is awesomely cheap.
Here is the facts, just to clear up some confusion ^^ 1. Batagreen Sautee caps at 52 2. Beaugreen Sautee caps at 55 Spelling mistakes and false info have led to some confusion here, so im just laying it out for you ^^
After doing 32 syntheses of Beaugreen Sautee, I'd say that it does not give you very good skillups. I was at 52.0 and finished at 52.8 on Watersday. >.<
It doesnt cap at 52, why? cuz I made lvl 53 cooking making this. It doesnt cap at 53, why? cuz I got a skill up at 53 cooking.
Price considerations: 90g per green for greens with HIGHEST FAME IN TOWN for the NPC purchase. 400g a stack of selbina butter. That's 123.3 for each synth of materials not including a fire crystal... Since I can sell to NPC for 168, that's some 44.7 gil I got per fire crystal. Did I mention that I farmed my fires?
Saying you profit from this is actually a lie. Saying you didn't lose much and didn't have to buy your fire crystals, because, as you said, you bought them, is more accurate.
Let's say you take the fire crystals you farmed, and sold them. That's about 2500-3000 gil you earn. (at least as of this writing on Unicorn). that's profit you have to take in consideration when you say you farmed your crystals.
IMHO, farming crystals is only an issue when you don't have the cash down to buy them outright, as once you get a higher leveled job, you can make money easier to buy a stack of crystals than farm them (clusters excluded, but gotta specify when hunting elementals)
This has been rehashed a number of times in every craft thread dealing with farming crystals, and the fact is that the farmed crystals have a value, they're not free, you put time in it to get them, and someone who buys the crystals, while losing money, can recoup that money just as easy as you saved it farming them. It's no positive argument for those with a minimum of funds to start with.
This is a skill-up combo that will loose you gil. But its not a ton. You spend around 350-400 gil for each combo. They sell to the NPC for 168. It took me 60 combonations to get from 50.0 to 52.1 just as a idea of the amount needed for skilling up.
