the hat does look stupid. i'm not sure if this information is accurate but i read on some post that AF items can be crafted at very high levels. i doubt this, but someone actually went so far as to post a recipe for the ninja body AF. probably not true but if anyone wants to look into it i'd be interested to find out.

I realise that there is a lack of Ranger AF2 guide so here goes. (I was a 53rng/26whm)

Mhuara
After flagging the quest, go to Mhuara and talk to the girl in Smithing guild.

The Eldieme Necropolis
After the cutscene, simply head to The Eldieme Necropolis from the Southern Entrance (Battalia Down I-10/J-10) Once you enter EN, you'd get another cutscene.

Once inside, sneak yourself and run to G9/H9. I suggest getting a mage friend along to help open the Titan's Gate. And staying outside to ensure that titan's Gate remains open. You'd find a little corridor containing the tombstone at the north of the center room beyond titan's gate.

There is a bomb class mob near the tombstone that aggros by sight. I sneak/invis myself and wait for the bomb to move behind the tombstone. Once it is behind, i removed invis and quickly examined the tombstone. There will be a cutscene. Get ready to activate camouflauge right after the cut scene and get out of EN. If it arrows, shadowbind and and get your mage friend to escape/teleport both of you out. Report to the ranger chieftess for another cutscene. Proceed to Castle Oztroja after that.

Castle Oztroja
BUY THE MAP!!! While i almost soloed this part of the quest without a map, I highly discourages it. Nonetheless here's how:

(if you are >53 you wont need to invis at the first lvl)

<First Level>
Once you enter, turn right at the first cross junction. At the next junction turn left. You'd enter a big room (Let's call this the Lvl 1 Hall)

Go straight and turn right at/into the second doorway. Turn left at the next junction and follow the path. Turn right at the next junction and you'd come to a door with 2 handles.

Open the door and go up the stairs to the second level.

<Second Level>
(at 53 I need to invis to safely walk around here)
At the second level, you'd see the 4 baziers/torches. Go straight. At the first T junction, turn left. Follow the path to the next T junction and turn left again.

At the next T junction, turn right (The left path should bring you to an open landscape. Follow the path south to the next T junction.

At this T junction turn right (to your left should be an unmarked door, DONT OPEN IT, there are easy cons inside that will aggro). The right path should take you north, then west, then north again. Ultimately you'd end up on a ledge overseeing the Level 1 Hall.

Here, turn right (you can only turn right) and go through a doorway and enter a small room. exit the room via the other doorway and turn left immediately. You should now be standing on the center pathway.

Here's the tricky part. At the end of this pathway is the Brass Door with 4 Levers to open it. There are However 2 Easy cons guarding the door and some T/EC on the other side.

Get a good pt to kill these for you, or get a High level to open the door for you. (DO NOT ATTEMPT TO OPEN THE DOORS ON YOUR OWN. You cant actually with invis on)

Either way, get through the door and there's only one straight path up to the pond.

Inside the pond, there are yagudo parasites. These leeches aggros by sound. So here's the trick (I soloed this part)

Sneak and then invis yourself. Wait the the surrounding yagudos to look away/walk away, and then quickly scavenge, as near to the center of the pond as possible. once done quickly activate camoflauge and run to a safe place.

I tried this 3 times but i believe it's because my first 2 tries werent at the center of the pool. I died once cos i didnt know these leeches aggro by sound.

For those on prism powder and sneak oil, you would be relatively safe without sneak/invis until the center pathway on the second level.

Anyway once you get your Old Earring proceed to windurst and look for the chieftess to get your AF2.
