Triple Dagger  

I am not happy with this dagger.

Normally I dual weild 2 Corsair's Daggers. I tested them out in a number of different ways.

Killing lizards in Meri. Mountains with nothing else on, the Cor's Daggers hit for high 60's every 3.5-4 seconds. With 1 Cor's Dagger and 1 Triple Dagger (you can't have 2) the Triple Dagger was hitting for low 30's and the Cor's Dagger for low 50's (a drastic decrease!) every 3-3.5 seconds. Regardless of which hand I had the Triple Dagger in the speed of attack was the same and the low damage also the same.

In the time it took for Triple Attack to finally fire I killed 8 lizards. In this same span my job ability Double Attack launched 4 times.

I counted the number of hits to kill a Boggart with 2 Cor's Daggers (11) vs. 1 Cor/ 1 Triple (14).

In conclusion, I do not see the merit to buying this weapon...Dual Weild Corsair's Dagger is the better bet in my opinion. Or spend the 4 million gil on a Mercurial Kris (personally I am not willing to spend that to find the same results as above).

To clear up peoples questions with this dagger, yes it WILL give you a 1% form of Triple Attack to any job that wields this dagger. However, the actual rate in which you will triple attack is incredibly low. 1% means you will have about 1 triple attack in 100 attacks. Only THF could probably make decent use for this, and probably only in solo. The base damage on this dagger is terribly low to be effective in EXP situations. The dagger is only about 100-150k on Midgard right now, I'd say it's a reasonable price for this situational/novality type dagger.

If you're WAR/NIN with Axe/this can your axe triple attack or only the dagger? Or does it not work in off hand?

Is this dagger worth it at 51? I'm trying to figure out what I'm going to be using next and by what everyone tells me I'm going to be hitting for a LOT of 0s soon so I need all the damage+ I can squeeze in. At 13 dmg, is this dagger really worth using?

is anyone else disturbed by that picture? It looks like a tarutaru from the waist up and a mithra from the waist down... its almost enough to make me give up my days of pimping mithra o.O

i use this dagger along with the kidney dagger and let me say , triple att happens often and kidney dagger with +5% criticals it is like every 2nd shot is critical. awesome duo

Got this Dagger before getting Triple as a THF/NIN. Equipping it gave me triple attacks about once every mob in an XP pt.

After getting Triple Attack JobTrait I unequipped it and noticed about the same triple occurance as pre-trait with the dagger.

I then re-equipped it and fought about 4-5 hours with it in an XP PT. It was yeilding 3-4 Triples a mob with a dependable occurance.

In My humble opinion the dagger is not only worthwhile but it adds a tremendous amount of TP. Without it I hardly ever see Triple Attack fire off on both dual weild attacks but with it I can expect to see it quite often.

Your mile-age may vary...

Imagine using this and subbing krakken club to farm. The low damage of this, and THF's lacking skill with club would not be a good combo on exp mobs. You could use it for farming however, and probably wipe up the floor with everything.

If you sub Drk to your Thf and use Soul Eater, I kid you not, your Triple Attack activates more frequently. Of course, how often do you see a Thf subbing a Drk and not the other way around?

if you are a different job other than thief, that has tripple attack 0% (duh they dont have the ability) you have a chance to do tripple attack thats all its really good for but its not useless :D good luck

Does this add triple attack +1% even if you don't have the triple attack job trait?
