Are any of the polearm WSes based on CHR?
Only dancing edge and shadowstitch are affected by chr.
There are 7 "sin weapons", each one boosts a stat by 7. Had to be one for chr. pld/sam/dgr all have "killer effects" and chr does affect them. That be my guess.

They never said provoke isn't effected by Chr. With SE they make you read inbetween the lines. Everything they say is careful worded, people whom interview them often take note of winks and other /em.
High Jump and Super Jump may even be effected by chr. As far as I know polearm doesnt have any Chr based weaponskills most are dex.

No, they flat out said CHR doesn't effect Provoke. Someone asked the developers at the fan-fest. SE gave a flat "No."

I actually know a level 70 paladin that subs beast for soloing low exp. Using the Envy spear helps alot with charm. Otherwise, this thing is pretty iffy >_<

i think this is one more area where SE has screwed DRG. the one item in this series that a DRG would want to equip and still do ok weapon damage reduces any useful stats for DRG. even if charisma did affect voke (doubt it does myself) DRG aren't vokers except in extreme emergencies.

Chr doesn't affect Provoke, and is fairly easy to test. Find a high level War and low level War. Have the high level War provoke something. Then have the low level War Provoke it. They hate will be identical. Now, to prove that, have the low level war hit the mob. If he didn't have hate, he now will.

Provoke potency up is CHR.

Provoke is affected by CHR. Higher CHR = more potent provoke...
that's another one of those theroies, have you seen any proof for it? Personally, I won't believe it until you provide some proof.
I find it easier to believe it would be something like Holy Circle, Demon Circle and the DRG one :P and perhaps Cover... but I don't have proof for that ;X

earth staff is an exception. yeah, you don't have a shield but it reduces physical damage 20%. that means a hit that would be 100 becomes 80, ten of them would be 800 instead of 1000. very useful for PLD.
